Ruth Bible Study Book Updated Edition With Video Access
$21.99Add to cartMost of us like a good rags-to-riches story, especially one that includes a bit of intrigue and a moving tale of love. We can easily get lost in a narrative where, at the beginning of the story, heartache reigned, but it was soon replaced by joy. Perhaps we’re drawn to these tales because they not only provide an escape, but hope.
Many of us struggle through seasons of bitterness, tears, and loss, wondering if there could ever be a happy ending to our stories. The story of Ruth affirms that yes, there is hope. However, it’s not found in a happy ending scribed by a novelist’s pen, but in the power and protection of a sovereign God who never takes His eyes off of us for even a moment.
In this 7-session study from Kelly Minter, we’ll examine Ruth’s journey of unbearable loss, redeeming love, and divine legacy. We’ll see how God proves Himself faithful as the One who rescues, revives, and restores. First released in 2009, this study is now updated with fresh content and new teaching videos from Kelly.

Paul’s challenge to Timothy 2,000 years ago remains a clarion call for pastors today: “Do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry” (2 Tim 4:5). Because evangelism is the central work of a Christian’s life, there is a great need for pastors to understand what evangelism is and what makes it effective. Much of modern evangelical culture has become memorized conversations, pre-packaged formulas, and programmatic approaches that serve as poor substitutes for the simple proclamation of the gospel. In Evangelism: How to Share the Gospel Faithfully, John MacArthur along with pastors, missionaries, and church planters from Grace Community Church give the summons to return to the basics.
Evangelism covers four primary topics:
*Theological presuppositions and biblical foundations of evangelism
*Evangelism from a pastoral perspective
*One-on-one witnessing
*How outreach fits into and shapes the activities of the local churchYou’ll learn theological principles of sharing the gospel and practical approaches to incorporating outreach into your life, including specialized areas, like:
*Sharing the gospel with children and youth
*Witnessing to those with special needs
*Working with people suffering from addiction

Equipping for Everyone – Level 2 Security
All words have a meaning that defines them. However, they are often subject to people’s interpretation. When they are superficially analyzed or adapted to contemporary and cultural concepts, they run the risk of losing their original meaning and dimension. A few examples prove it. Church is a word that is often used to refer to all kinds of religious system that dictates the rules of life that people must follow. Kingdom is a word that is usually associated with the greatness of a monarch, who is considered almost as the owner of the country he represents. Authority is a word that relates to order and justice, or abuse and corruption. The fact is that these three words were interpreted in such varied ways according to the time, that many times their real meaning was misrepresented.

There is a missing force in Christianity today. Its absence has led to weak believers, disintegrating families, ineffective churches, and a decaying culture. Without it we lack what we need to fully live as heaven’s representatives on earth.
That missing force is discipleship. The result is powerless Christians attending powerless churches, having a powerless presence in the world. The power, authority, abundance, victory, and impact God has promised will come about only when we understand and align ourselves with His definition of discipleship.

This study is designed to empower men to exercise the God-given dominion they were created for by giving them a Kingdom understanding, vision, and perspective on their identity and responsibilities along with practical steps on how to become a man who rules his world well.
Our culture has redefined manhood by emasculating men through a repositioning of the role. Men are portrayed as weak, self-serving, and unfocused. The Bible clearly communicates that man was created to exercise dominion over the various areas of his life, taking responsibility for himself and others entrusted to his care. When a man functions within the principles of biblical manhood, those around him benefit from his leadership and care.
This men’s Bible study is designed to empower men to exercise the God-given dominion they were created for by giving them a Kingdom understanding, vision, and perspective on their identity and responsibilities, along with practical steps on how to become a man who rules his world well.

From Beginning To Forever Bible Study Book With Video Access
$21.99Add to cartMany Christians today are daunted by the Bible, seeing the size and scope of Scripture as intimidating and overwhelming. The result is often a fragmented understanding of parts of the Bible, which leads us to view it through the lens of our individual stories, primarily looking for different verses or passages to help us live our everyday lives. But, in our search for personal truth, we fail to see how the entirety of Scripture works together to show a bigger story-God’s work to redeem and restore the entire world.
In From Beginning to Forever, Elizabeth Woodson guides you through the story of the Bible, showing how all 66 books combine to form one unified narrative. Weaving together the rich theological truths found in Genesis through Revelation, this 8-session study shows the eternal significance of what God is doing in the world and how he invites us to be a part of it.

Creating Cultures Of Belonging
$20.99Add to cartWith increasing interest from donors and board members to see faith-based, missional organizations reflect the diversity of God’s kingdom, these organizations desire to have women in positions of leadership. However, this proves difficult when the organizational culture is one that silences and even penalizes the unique giftings that women bring to the table.
Many organizations still lack the ability to embody a new culture-what Beth Birmingham and Eeva Simard call a belonging culture. Such a culture is one where all employees are secure and recognized, where leaders seek productivity and connectivity, and where the organization is committed to supporting a diverse community of employees.
Creating Cultures of Belonging offers solutions for leadership teams, board members, and managers that reshape organizational culture in ways that invite and celebrate gender equity. With practical steps to enhance mentorship opportunities, human resources practices, and management tactics, Beth and Eeva point a way forward by identifying the changes that need to be made to create a belonging culture.

Fresh Expressions Of The Rural Church
$19.99Add to cartCultivate “fresh expressions of church” in your rural congregation with Fresh Expressions of the Rural Church by Tyler Kleeberger and Michael Beck.
Congregations became the hub of rural lifefor a time. The place where people gathered not only on Sundays to hear a sermon but to help each other work the land, break bread, and form deep relationships. The rural church was the place where they found a community that could sustain them through the joys and struggles of life with the land. In many ways, a rural church expressed the essence of church in general: To be the guiding hand into the life of a place.
After disruptions from agriculture, industrialization, and technology, many rural churches (like the people around them) feel forgotten. Has urbanization made life outside the urban sprawl irrelevant? Can rural congregations struggling to survive find hope and new life? If so, can healthy rural churches catalyze a different future for the world?
Tyler Kleebergerand Michael Beck think so. They have served rural congregations for over a decade, Michael in North Central Florida and Tyler in Northwest Ohio. They have discovered the potential and beauty of life and faith in the rural setting. The ageing congregations they serve(in declining rural communities) found ways to cultivate “fresh expressions of church” with people who call rural simply “home”. They serve contexts in the often forgotten, wild places of our contemporary world.
This book includes breakthrough stories from the diversity of rural contexts across the US. It lays out a fresh theology for rural life and offers principles for harnessing the potential of what some consider the forgotten spaces.

Vital Christian Community
$28.95Add to cartTwelve characteristics of healthy Christian communities and the congregational and personal practices that develop them.
Congregations have been the bedrock of mainline Christian life and practice for centuries but in recent years many have dwindled in energy and impact. Leaders conclude that change is needed, that they can’t keep applying the same models and practices that have served in the past but no longer seem to work.
At a time when all kinds of institutions are being buffeted by swift and strong cultural forces, Brochard and Newton believe the congregation to be a primary site for the transformation of individuals, communities, and the world and that the measures for congregational vitality begin with health, faithfulness, and effectiveness as local expressions of the Church.
The authors offer readers insights into developing a sense of purpose, building trust, encouraging curiosity, becoming more collaborative, appreciating productive conflict, and other vital skills.

In Jesus In Me, revered evangelist and Bible teacher Anne Graham Lotz guides us to a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, who is Jesus without skin.
In this practical study that is a true Bible study, Anne starts with a workshop on how to get to know the Holy Spirit by listening to him when we’re studying the Bible. Then, we apply the skills of asking and listening as we work through five Bible studies per week on selected Scriptures about the Holy Spirit.
Through eight sessions, we will discover why the Holy Spirit is not an optional extra in the Christian life. Instead:
*We can have a relationship with this living, thinking, feeling Person, who is our comforter, counselor, friend.
*We can enjoy his constant Presence, inside us, filling us.
*We can receive and experience his Power.
*We can live a life of Purpose, directed by his guidance.
*We can understand the Precepts in the Bible by hearing directly from the One who breathed it.
*We will be convicted of our sin by his Purity.
Discover how you can better love and rely on the Holy Spirit–and embrace how much He loves you.

Help Is Here Study Guide Plus Streaming Video (Student/Study Guide)
$21.99Add to cartThe Holy Spirit is a mystery to many of us today. We understand the nature and character of God the Father. We have no problem comprehending Jesus as the Son. But the Holy Spirit? We tend to hem, haw, and search for words when trying to describe him and the work he does in our lives. Perhaps some of the challenge is found in the terms. We understand God as a Father. Jesus as a Son. But God as Spirit? The word itself is mystical.
In this five-session video Bible study (DVD/digital downloads sold separately), bestselling author Max Lucado pulls back the curtain on the third member of Trinity. He shows how Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to his disciples because they needed to be equipped for the work he had in store for them. As he said to them, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8 NKJV). Jesus knew they needed the Holy Spirit’s power-to make good choices, keep promises, silence voices of fear, and get on with life. Jesus promised to provide this power to his followers. He still promises to provide this power today.
The Bible reveals that the Holy Spirit-far from being an impersonal force-is always close, always active, and always at work within our lives. He is our helper, teacher, empowerer, intercessor, peace-bringer, guider, anointer, convicter, and diviner giver of gifts. God has not left us vulnerable and defenseless. Rather, his vision for us includes a Companion with resilient strength. So no more walking this path alone! No more carrying weight we were not intended to bear! It’s time to enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit and experience the life he offers. It’s time to tap into his power… and realize that help is here.

$22.99Add to cartJourney through the biblical stories of the early Christian movement, and see what kind of wild adventures await those who truly believe Jesus.
Throughout the book of Acts, believing Jesus and what he said is the core value that marked every believer in the first church. Because they believed Jesus, the early Christians, including Peter, Paul, Stephen, and Timothy:
*Consistently chose risk over comfort–even at the cost of some of their lives.
*Persistently opened their homes and arms, giving all they had to the Jesus way.
*Radically pursued Christ over culture–until they began to shape the culture around them.In this eight-session video Bible study (streaming included), Lisa Harper launches into the book of Acts to discover how Jesus’ command to spread the gospel changed the lives of those who believed and shaped the culture that surrounded the growing church.
At the end of this journey together, not only will you have studied this wild, adventurous, risk-taking book of the Bible; but you’ll see how God supernaturally orchestrated the events in Scripture to bring about the message of salvation that the early believers preached in the book of Acts.
Today, we are faced with the same decisions the early church faced. Will we, like them, truly believe the words of Jesus and allow them to transform every part of our lives?

Forgiving What You Cant Forget Bible Study Guide Plus Streaming Video

Forgiveness is a major part of the Christian faith. But how do we actually put it into practice when we’re the ones who’ve been hurt? We know God commands us to forgive each other. But, apart from simply saying the words, I forgive you, many of us have unasked questions about it:
*How does it work? On our minds, souls, circumstances–what’s actually happening when we forgive?
*Why is it so important, and what’s the difference between forgiveness and simply moving on?
*When should I forgive, and are their exceptions?
*How can I find healing for myself, even if my act of forgiveness doesn’t seem to change the person who hurt me?
These are just some of the questions that bestselling author and teacher Lysa TerKeurst explores in this six-session video Bible study (video streaming included) that will walk with you on a step-by-step process–through biblical answers, deep empathy, and the therapeutic insight that comes from Lysa’s personal experiences–toward the grace of forgiveness and the freedom from the pain of past wrongs.

Power Of Gods Names Bible Study Book With Video Access (Student/Study Guide)
$20.99Add to cartThe Power of God’s Names Bible Study Book with Video Access includes small group experiences for six sessions, individual study and learning activities five days a week, Scriptures that reveal the meanings of God’s names, and video viewer guides. Also, each Book contains a unique code that enables you to access free session videos.
To fully grasp the significance and power of knowing God’s names, you first need to understand the context of names within biblical cultures. In Old Testament times a name was more than simply nomenclature. It was, rather, a replica and revelation of the individual or thing itself.
This study examines 11 names of God. The words translated as name show up over one thousand times in Scripture and routinely carry with them power, responsibility, purpose, and authority. A name not only expresses the essence and significance of what is being named but also-when duly authorized-accesses the capacity intrinsic within it. Because of God’s depth of character, He has a variety of names to reflect His different capacities of relating to humanity. For example, God is called Elohim when referenced as the all-powerful Creator. When you need provision, get to know the name Jehovah Jireh, which means God, the Provider. God has a name for any and every situation you can find yourself in. Get to know the names of God because it is in knowing His character and His capacity that you will rest and discover both peace and power in His covenant care.

Lead Like It Matters Workbook (Workbook)
$19.99Add to cartIt has been rightly said that Jesus is the hope of the world. While we can never argue against the importance of the power of the risen Son of God, it is also true that the local church is the hope of the world. After all, the church is the body of Christ. Jesus manifested himself through the church. And we, as the church, are chosen and called by God to be light in the darkness and give hope to the hopeless.
For this reason, it is critical for the body of Christ–both pastors and laypeople alike–to learn how to lead like it matters. In this study guide, which accompanies the book of the same name, pastor and bestselling author Craig Groeschel shares what he has learned in more than twenty-six years of leading LifeChurch. The church began in a borrowed two-car garage, with ratty furnishings and faulty audiovisual equipment, but people were drawn there because they sensed a powerful, life-changing force that Craig calls it. While exactly what it is can be difficult to define, Craig reveals seven factors that contribute to it (or at least don’t kill it):
Sessions include:
1. Vision
2. Divine Focus
3. Unmistakable Camaraderie
4. Innovative Minds
5. Willingness to Fall Short
6. Hearts Focused Outward
7. Kingdom-MindednessCraig also unpacks three important realms that every leader must master: (1) prioritizing mindset over model, (2) creating systems that empower it, and (3) finding a balanced way to lead to stay centered around it. While adopting these seven factors and realms will not guarantee a church will have that it factor, it will certainly lead that church toward it. It will help all of us lead like it matters.

Anatomy Of A Revived Church
$14.99Add to cartThere is hope. God can save your church.
In this book, Thom Rainer reveals seven findings of revived churches. Through new research, he figuratively dissects hundreds of churches that were on the path toward death. But they turned around. Today, three out of four churches are declining in our nation, and twenty percent of churches are close to death. What are the secrets of the churches who avoided this fate and experienced revival?
In Anatomy of a Revived Church, Thom will show you how these churches experienced renewal. He will cover everything from “expanding the scorecard” to “dealing with toxins” to “choosing meaningful membership.” When you finish reading this book, you will have the tools to strengthen, restore, and energize your church.
You can choose life for your church.

Preaching To A Divided Nation

Unfortunately, Christians appear to be caught up in the same animosity as the culture at large. While our faith calls us to Christian unity, the hard fact remains: our churches are tragically divided across class, ethnic, gender, and political lines. As these social chasms grow–both inside and outside the church–the role of the preacher becomes paramount.
This book issues a prophetic call to pastors to use the influence of their pulpits to promote reconciliation and unity in their churches and communities. Two scholar-practitioners who are experts in homiletics and reconciliation present a practical, 7-step model that empowers faithful leaders to bring healing and peace to their fractured churches and world. The book includes questions for reflection, salient illustrations, and an accountability covenant. It also includes useful appendixes on preaching themes, preaching texts, and sample sermons from three leading preachers: Ralph Douglas West, Rich Villodas, and Sandra Maria Van Opstal.

When Narcissism Comes To Church
$18.99Add to cartWhy does narcissism seem to thrive in our churches? We’ve seen the news stories and heard the rumors. Maybe we ourselves have been hurt by a narcissistic church leader. It’s easy to throw the term around and diagnose others from afar. But what is narcissism, really? And how does it infiltrate the church? Chuck DeGroat has been counseling pastors with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, as well as those wounded by narcissistic leaders and systems, for over twenty years. He knows firsthand the devastation narcissism leaves in its wake and how insidious and painful it is. In When Narcissism Comes to Church, DeGroat takes a close look at narcissism, not only in ministry leaders but also in church systems. He offers compassion and hope for those affected by its destructive power and imparts wise counsel for churches looking to heal from its systemic effects. DeGroat also offers hope for narcissists themselves–not by any shortcut, but by the long, slow road of genuine recovery, possible only through repentance and trust in the humble gospel of Jesus.

Doing Church As A Team
$17.99Add to cartWhen a Church Works Together, God Can Do Amazing Things
“To be a successful leader, and if you plan to have a successful ministry, you must develop not only your gifts, but more so, the gifts of those around you.” -Wayne Cordeiro
Everyone is a great fit . . . somewhere, and God has strategically called and gifted each individual for a specific role and purpose. The twenty-first-century church must be a battleship, not a cruise ship, but that can only happen when everyone finds their place in ministry.
In Doing Church as a Team, Dr. Wayne Cordeiro shows you how to identify the hidden callings of the members in your church so that together you can accomplish anything God is asking you to do.

Praying Pastor
$11.99Add to cartThere’s a difference between a pastor who prays and a praying pastor. Prayer is an important spiritual discipline in the life and ministry of every Christian who is called to shepherd Jesus’s flock. The minutiae of ministry can wear pastors down and make prayer feel more like an obligation, something to do in church services and at hospital bedsides, rather than a desired or necessary activity. In The Praying Pastor, David Busic examines the vital role of an active and intimate prayer life, and urges all pastors to consider whether they need to make the transition from being pastors who pray to becoming praying pastors.

Uncovery : Understanding The Power Of Community To Heal Trauma
$16.99Add to cartWhen it comes to Christ-centered recovery, we, the church, have work to do.
Our legalistic, box-checking, one-size-fits-all programs produce astonishingly high failure rates–which means far too many people are left to fight addiction, mental health problems, and suicidal thoughts on their own.
This begs some critical questions of the church:
– Do we really believe transformational recovery and healing is possible?
– Do we really have the right systems and structures to support struggling people?
– Do we really carry a kingdom responsibility to restore people gently?
– Do we really take time to ask God what more He would have us do in the recovery space? This book is for anyone who can’t offer a resounding yes and amen to each of those questions.
With hearts that beat for those struggling with addictions and mental health issues, authors George A. Wood and Brit Eaton present:
– A critical reframing of the word “recovery” and an invitation to answer God’s call for more spirit-led, trauma-informed ministry
– Deeper exploration into the origins of addiction, mental health problems, and suicidal thoughts–and the church’s responsibility to bring God’s healing
– Powerful supernatural testimonies and stories of hope, healing, and life restoration as a result of embracing The Uncovery
– Practical strategies to help Christ-centered recovery leaders bridge the gap between spiritual and scientific communities to better serve struggling people
– A loose and helpful framework for embracing The Uncovery message
– Inspiration for recovery leaders to love and lead in a more inclusive, sacrificial, and Christlike manner while maintaining healthy self-care
The goal of The Uncovery is to help the church–and the world–see recovery through a grace- laced, gospel lens. Some say recovery is the civil rights movement of our generation because believe it or not, recovery is for everyone. And if that statement bothers you? Recovery might be for you, too.
Every single one of us has some trauma or issue from our past that may still be affecting our life today. This book offers readers a not-so-subtle nudge to go deeper in the recovery space for a transformative encounter with Father God to heal from those wounds and lead the promised land life He has planned for us.

What Do We Do When Nobody Is Listening
$22.99Add to cartA trusted senior statesman in Christian ethics and ministry addresses the crisis of political polarization threatening the existence of the church.
Polarization and political gridlock have been the norm in the United States for decades. As that reality seeps into every aspect of our society, churches find themselves not only affected, but often at the very center of the conflict. Rather than remaining places of inclusive community and generous dialogue, our sanctuaries have too often become ground zero of the culture wars.
What can pastors do to restore the church’s witness to the unity of all things in God-especially when it feels like members of the congregation would rather position the church’s identity firmly on one side of the political spectrum or the other? And how can church leaders maintain peace while speaking the truth on important social issues-without either alienating parishioners who disagree or resorting to inane bothsiderism?
Widely respected pastor and ethicist Robin Lovin offers sage counsel in this helpful book, arguing that to resist the trend of polarization in our church we must rediscover how the gospel teaches us to understand ourselves, our neighbors, and the purpose of politics. In part one, Lovin provides an overview of the situation in which we find ourselves, showing how polarization developed over recent decades and how, in both our society and our churches, we have adapted to division as the norm. In part two, he considers how Christians can shape a different response by learning to listen-to the Word of God, to the world, and to those who are not usually heard. With questions for discussion and reflection aligned with the content of each chapter, What Do We Do When Nobody Is Listening? provides an accessible roadmap for navigating out of the morass of polarization into a brighter future of church unity, during election seasons and beyond.

My Body Is Not A Prayer Request
$19.99Add to cartThe church has forgotten that we worship a disabled God whose wounds survived resurrection, says Amy Kenny. It is time for the church to start treating disabled people as full members of the body of Christ who have much more to offer than a miraculous cure narrative and to learn from their embodied experiences.
Written by a disabled Christian, this book shows that the church is missing out on the prophetic witness and blessing of disability. Kenny reflects on her experiences inside the church to expose unintentional ableism and cast a new vision for Christian communities to engage disability justice. She shows that until we cultivate church spaces where people with disabilities can fully belong, flourish, and lead, we are not valuing the diverse members of the body of Christ.
Offering a unique blend of personal storytelling, fresh and compelling writing, biblical exegesis, and practical application, this book invites readers to participate in disability justice and create a more inclusive community in church and parachurch spaces. Engaging content such as reflection questions and top-ten lists are included.

Inalienable : How Marginalized Kingdom Voices Can Help Save The American Ch
$18.99Add to cartWith our witness compromised, numbers down, and reputation sullied, the American church is at a critical crossroads. In order for the church to return to health, we must decenter ourselves from our American idols and be guided by global Christians and the poor, who offer hope from the margins, and the ancient church, refocusing on the kingdom, image, Word, and mission of God.
The American church is at a critical crossroads. Our witness has been compromised, our numbers are down, and our reputation has been sullied, due largely to our own faults and fears. The church’s ethnocentrism, consumerism, and syncretism have blurred the lines between discipleship and partisanship. Pastor Eric Costanzo, missiologist Daniel Yang, and nonprofit leader Matthew Soerens find that for the church to return to health, we must decenter ourselves from our American idols and recenter on the undeniable, inalienable core reality of the global, transcultural kingdom of God. Our guides in this process are global Christians and the poor, who offer hope from the margins, and the ancient church, which survived through the ages amid temptations of power and corruption. Their witness points us to refocus on the kingdom of God, the image of God, the Word of God, and the mission of God. The path to the future takes us away from ourselves in unlikely directions. By learning from the global church and marginalized voices, we can return to our roots of being kingdom-focused, loving our neighbor, and giving of ourselves in missional service to the world.

Speaking By The Numbers
$24.99Add to cartIt’s not just what you say, but how you say it.
Good communicators know this, but it’s often easier said than done. Teachers, leaders, and speakers are often left bewildered, wondering why the content that was so carefully planned and delivered seems to fall flat with the audience. The art of communication requires more than the transfer of information; it both connects with and engages the hearer. To communicate well, speakers must understand both their audience and themselves. Speaking by the Numbers offers a strategy that combines communication principles with Enneagram wisdom to help leaders, pastors, and teachers understand how to convey content in ways that both inspire and connect with their audiences. Using the Enneagram wisdom of triads and stances, communicators can learn insight into the ways that various Enneagram numbers receive and process information. Sean Palmer draws from his extensive experience as a public speaker to develop communication strategies that lead to connection, transformation, and mobilization of audiences. Providing real examples of speeches and messages he has given, Palmer shows how he uses the Enneagram to craft a message that connects with his audience. A healthy marriage of Enneagram wisdom and communication skill can help us speak with clarity into the heart of where people live, love, and experience life.

Undistracted Study Guide Plus Streaming Video (Student/Study Guide)
$19.99Add to cartThis study guide includes:
*Individual access to five streaming video sessions
*Discussion and reflection questions with video notes
*Personal study for between sessions
*Leader’s GuideDisappointments are a fact of life. Setbacks will happen to us all at some point. It is easy to allow such events to steal our joy and distract us from our true purpose. But we don’t have to fall into that trap. We can choose to keep our focus on Christ even in turmoil and be the kind of people who get busy moving in another direction.
In this five-session video study, bestselling author Bob Goff shares some of the stories from his life that have helped him understand what it truly means to be joyful in every situation. As he notes, the hard truth is that most of us live our lives consumed by worries and fears about things over which we have no control. We struggle to know how we should interact with family or friends. We fret about our finances and our faith. We question our college major and career choice. Add to this that we’re following a God we can’t see, for a lifetime we can’t measure, to a heaven we can’t comprehend, because of grace we didn’t earn.
We’re all trying to figure it out as we go. This leaves more offramps than onramps, more chances for confusion than certainty and more ambiguity than clarity. All of this vagueness plays right into the hands of darkness. The enemy doesn’t seek to destroy us with an obvious all-out assault. No, he wants to distract us, keep us locked up in worries, and prevent us from experiencing those things that will give us true joy in life.
This is the goal of this study–to provide a roadmap to defeat discouragement and regain joy in life by becoming captivated by something better. Joy will provide practical steps to help participants make that journey.

She then examines the intersection of this faith-based depiction with five theories of social development proposed by:
*Erik Erikson
*John Bowlby
*B. F. Skinner
*Albert Bandura

Churches And The Crisis Of Decline
$29.99Add to cartCongregations often seek to combat the crisis of decline by using innovation to produce new resources. But leading practical theologian Andrew Root shows that the church’s crisis is not in the loss of resources, it’s in the loss of life–and that life can only return when we remain open to God’s encountering presence.
This new book, related to Root’s critically acclaimed Ministry in a Secular Age project, addresses the practical form the church must take in a secular age. Root uses two stories to frame the book: one about a church whose building becomes a pub and the other about Karl Barth. Root argues that Barth should be understood as a pastor with a deep practical theology that can help church leaders today.
This book pushes the church to be a waiting community that recognizes that the only way for it to find life is to stop seeing the church as the star of its own story. Instead of resisting decline, congregations must remain open to divine action. Root offers a rich vision for the church’s future that moves away from an obsession with relevance and resources and toward the living God.

Old Testament Exegesis Fifth Edition
$30.00Add to cartFor years, Douglas Stuart’s Old Testament Exegesis has been one of the most popular ways to learn how to perform exegesis-the science and art of interpreting biblical texts properly for understanding as well as proclamation. This new edition includes a major revision and expansion of online and other resources for doing biblical research and updates past editions by including a helpful configuration of the format for the exegesis process. Stuart provides guidance for full exegesis as well as for a quicker approach specifically tailored to the task of preaching. A glossary of terms explains the sometimes-bewildering language of biblical scholarship, and a list of frequent errors guides the student in avoiding common mistakes. No exegetical guide for the Old Testament has been more widely used in training ministers and students to be faithful, careful interpreters of Scripture.

Wait Is This Racist
$25.00Add to cartWait-Is This Racist? offers a “be-it-yourself” guide to anti-racism for churches by examining all operations of church life so that churches and church leaders can create a workable action plan to truly become more justice-oriented organizations.
A “Be-It-Yourself” Guide to Anti-racism for Churches and Church Leaders
Whether you have been an ally for years or just recently opened your eyes to racial injustice, guiding your predominantly white church toward anti-racism is a daunting task. Where do you even begin? White churches especially feel an urgency to respond but at the same time suffer a sense of overwhelmingness and futility, as if no one action, sermon series, or service project will solve the problem of racism in America. And they’re right. Instead, we must begin to look deeply at our organizations-our traditions, our ministries, our leadership, our ways of making decisions, our ways of interacting with the world beyond the church-to identify and address implicit biases and to discover how white pseudo-supremacy has been encoded into our way of “doing church.”

Who Moved My Neighborhood
$18.99Add to cartNeighborhoods are moving.
While neighborhood changes can mean exciting and fresh opportunities for some, the experience can be vastly different for long-time residents. The rapid movement of people means changes in employment, economics, landscape, demographics, and the feel of a community. Churches often experience the painful impact of these shifts. Depending on how a church navigates through these changes determines if it will either live, die, or be reduced to a tragic existence on life support. Mark Strong knows the obstacles connected with gentrification and the challenges it brings. As a pastor, he led his church through its own moved neighborhood in Portland. Strong shares the frustrations, surprises, and joys that his church experienced as their neighborhood shifted, and he provides the roadmap that his own church used to navigate the change. Who Moved My Neighborhood? gives insight to churches that need to heal from the wounds of gentrification and economic change, and revamp their mission amidst an uncertain future. Using the discussion guide included in the book, churches can discuss their own moved neighborhood and explore the unique next steps that God has for their community. There is hope and a future for congregations that face a moved neighborhood.

Professional Christian : Being Fully Yourself In The Spotlight Of Public Mi
$25.00Add to cartAs church leaders, we live our lives within the spotlight of professional ministry. To best love and serve God and our neighbors, we aim to be the fullest, truest versions of ourselves. However, we often struggle to do so with integrity. What if our preaching or singing feels like a performance? Are we supposed to hide our imperfections and let people see only the shiniest parts of our lives? If you have ever felt like you’re working under a microscope or that you’ve been put on a pedestal you don’t want or deserve, know that you are not alone.
Professional Christian gathers the wisdom from fifty church leaders in a variety of roles (including Sandhya Jha, Jacqueline J. Lewis, Bruce Reyes-Chow, Nikki Toyama-Szeto, and Will Willimon) on topics such as authenticity, privacy, boundaries, doubt, self-care, and the challenges of being held to a higher standard. The stories, advice, and wisdom from these leaders help to show us that thriving in ministry should not have to come at the expense of our identity and relationships. Written by a church musician with over twenty years of experience in ministry, Professional Christian helps church leaders learn to flourish as an integrated person of faith living out their call to vocational ministry.

She has great influence on her church, her community, her family, and her husband, and she finds joy in seeing God move in the lives of others. At times, a pastor’s wife may feel she can’t talk about her struggles even with those who are closest to her, which can leave her feeling alone, depleted, and misunderstood. She may settle for this way of living, but that’s not God’s desire for her.
Christine Hoover knows firsthand the unique struggles and opportunities afforded a pastor’s wife–she’s been filling that role for more than 20 years. Coming alongside as an understanding friend, she offers encouragement and guidance to the struggling pastor’s wife, showing her how to make meaningful personal relationships with God, her husband, her children, her church community, and other women–relationships that will sustain her and help her thrive.

End Of The Age Study Guide (Student/Study Guide)
$18.99Add to cartThere seems to be a particular urgency in the prophetic doom-saying of our modern world . . . a greater sense of somberness. Perhaps this is because end-of-the-world scenarios have gone from Hollywood fodder to real life. Rather than feeling farfetched, the end of the world now seems almost a given for most people. A matter of when rather than if.
In The End of the Age, New York Times bestselling author and pastor John Hagee uses Scripture as a guide to count down the prophetic events that must occur before that moment when every person must face God on Judgment Day. The pages of God’s Word offer a window into the end of history–what Scripture calls the end of the age (Matthew 13:49).
The goal of this study is to look through that window together–not necessarily to make specific predictions about people and places, but to gain wisdom and perspective from the Author of history. In the process, we will see what God has in store for the future so that we can remain ready, speak boldly, and live faithfully to the end.

*Leader’s GuideIn this updated classic, bestselling author and pastor Max Lucado unpacks the meaning behind John 3:16, one of the best-known and most-beloved passages in the Bible. This simple verse came out of an unusual conversation that Jesus had under the cover of night with a Pharisee named Nicodemus. From the start, Nicodemus made it clear he inhabited a land of good efforts, sincere gestures, and hard work. Give God your best, his philosophy said, and God does the rest. Jesus’ response? Your best won’t do. Your works don’t work. Unless you are born again, you can’t even see what God is doing.
Born again. The word born, by definition, implies a passive act. The enwombed child contributes nothing to the delivery. Postpartum celebrations applaud the work of the mother who does the delivery. And the Greek term that Jesus used for again implies that the one who did the work the first time will repeat it. In other words, the original Creator will re-create his creation! Born: God exerts the effort. Again: God restores the beauty. We don’t try again. We need, not the muscle of self, but a miracle of God.
The thought bewildered Nicodemus. “How can this be?” he asked. Jesus answered by leading him to the Hope diamond of the Bible: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” A twenty-six-word parade of hope: beginning with God, ending with life, and urging us to do the same. A verse brief enough to write on a napkin or memorize in a moment . . . yet solid enough to weather 2,000 years of storms and questions. As this study will reveal, the heart of the human problem is the heart of the human. And God’s treatment for the human heart is prescribed in John 3:16: “He loves. He gave. We believe. We live.”

1. The Most Famous Conversation in the Bible

Walk : Five Essential Practices Of The Christian Life
$18.99Add to cartExamine five essential spiritual practices rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God.
How do we walk with Christ-daily follow him, grow in him, and faithfully serve him?
In the Gospels, Jesus modeled for us the Christian spiritual life. The apostles taught it in their writings. And the Church has, through the last 2,000 years, sought to pursue this Christian spiritual life.
In The Walk, Adam Hamilton focuses on five essential spiritual practices that are rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God and taught throughout the New Testament. Each of these practices is intended as part of our daily walk with Christ while also being an essential part of growing together in the church.
In each chapter, Hamilton explores one of these practices, its New Testament foundation, and what it looks like to pursue this practice daily in our personal life and together in the life of the church. Deepen your walk with Christ as we explore the five essential practices of worship, study, serving, giving, and bearing witness to our faith.
Additional components for a six-week adult study include a comprehensive Leader Guide and a DVD featuring the engaging teachings of author and pastor Adam Hamilton. Also available are resources for children and youth.
