    • God Grace And Horses

      $18.00

New from the author of the bestselling Horses Speak of God

We find the way by walking…or by riding a horse. A life of faith and a life with horses both find us in unexpected places–on new trails, in holy places, and in the arena that is life. Laurie Brock, Episcopal priest, messy Christian, and horse lover, shares the unexpectedness of love, grief, humility, joy, and life that she discovers with horses, and how they share their wisdom about living a life of faith. From barely-there trails in the Grand Tetons to muddy fields in the Kentucky Bluegrass, God is revealed in the life and insight of horses.

    • Napoleon Hills Positive Influence

      $19.98

Napoleon Hill spent twenty years of his life interviewing the most successful men in America in order to write the first book on the science of personal achievement. In the course of his studies, he developed seventeen success principles. These teachings explain each of them, In order, they are Definiteness of Purpose, the Master Mind Alliance, Going the Extra Mile, Applied Faith, Self-Discipline and Cosmic Habit Force. Hill often referred to these as the most important of the success principles.

Hill and his last wife, Annie Lou, established the Napoleon Hill Foundation 1962, and it continues today to publish his books, videos, audios and lectures. These six lectures were transcribed but never before published and only recently found by the Foundation. The Trustees of the Foundation have chosen the title “Napoleon Hill’s Positive Influence” for this book because these lectures deal with many of the influences which help people to become successful, and which drove Hill to achieve his own successes.

One of Hill’s greatest influences was business tycoon Andrew Carnegie, who commissioned him in 1908 to undertake his twenty-year investigation. During his investigation, he discovered that important positive influences on successful people included having self-discipline, learning from adversity, working in harmony with others, selecting “pace makers”, surrounding oneself with positive books and mottos, being guided by Faith and what Hill called “Infinite Intelligence”, social and physical heredity, and the law of Cosmic Habit force, by which one’s habits become ingrained in one’s personality and character. All of these positive influences are covered in these lectures.

In addition to Andrew Carnegie, a number of individuals were positive influences in Hill’s life, and they too are discussed in the lectures. Those who he knew personally, and who are referenced in the lectures, include Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Franklin Roosevelt, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Elmer Gates, Alexander Graham Bell and Edwin Barnes. On a more personal level, he speaks fondly of his step-mother and his wives who helped him with his endeavors. We are fortunate to be able to present an Introduction to the book by Napoleon’s grandson, J.B. Hill, and a Preface by Napoleon Hill Foundation Executive Director Don M. Green, both of which explain the important roles played by these women in bringing positive influences to bear on his life and work.

    • Madison Park : A Place Of Hope

      $19.99

Welcome to Madison Park, a small community in Alabama founded by freed slaves in 1880. And meet Eric Motley, a native son who came of age in this remarkable place where constant lessons in self-determination, hope, and unceasing belief in the American dream taught him everything he needed for his journey to the Oval Office as a special assistant to President George W. Bush.

Eric grew up among people whose belief was to give and never turn away from your neighbor’s need. There was Aunt Shine, the goodly matriarch who cared so much about young Motley’s schooling that she would stand up in a crowded church and announce Eric’s progress or his shortcomings. There was Old Man Salery, who secretly siphoned gasoline from his beat-up car into the Motleys’ tank at night. There were Motley’s grandparents, who bought books for Eric they couldn’t afford, spending the last of their seed money. And there was Reverend Brinkley, a man of enormous faith and simple living. It was said that whenever the Reverend came your way, light abounded. Life in Madison Park wasn’t always easy or fair, and Motley reveals personal and heartbreaking stories of racial injustice and segregation. But Eric shows how the community taught him everything he needed to know about love and faith.

This charming, engaging, and deeply inspiring memoir will help you remember that we can create a world of shared values based on love and hope. It is a story that reveals the amazing power of faith in God and each other. If you’re in search of hope during troubled times, look no further than Madison Park.

    • When God Changed His Mind

      $17.99

“Isaiah. Isaiah! Get up, son! Isaiah! You have to get up! Get off the floor! I can’t stop!”

I reached one hand behind me and shook him the best I could while driving. My heart pounded, and my body trembled. What could be so wrong that he can’t control his body?

Things go downhill quickly after Christina Custodio picks up her thirteen-year-old son early from football practice due to a headache. By the time she arrives, he has little control of his body and quickly becomes unresponsive. Soon, he is rushed into surgery, his brain filled with blood from a severe brain hemorrhage.

From the time he was born, Christina had always felt Isaiah would die young. Though a typical boy with no health issues, the thought always lingered. Now Christina begs God to change His mind and save her son’s life.

When God Changed His Mind chronicles Christina’s inspiring and emotional story of trusting God through the unknown, peace among the chaos, and joy in the midst of sorrow. Grateful that Isaiah survives but unsure he will ever recover his speech and mobility, Christina shares of her dependence on God during the ups and downs of their journey, the power of prayer, and her determination to use challenges and struggles for His glory.

    • Disarmed : The Radical Life And Legacy Of Michael MJ Sharp

      $17.99

A powerful story of one man’s radical commitment to peacemaking.

At 34 years old, Michael “MJ” Sharp was working for the United Nations Group of Experts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo–urging rebels to lay down their weapons–when he was murdered, likely assassinated alongside his colleague Zaida Catalan by those with government ties. This compelling account of MJ’s life, death, and legacy from longtime journalist Marshall V. King explores what compelled Sharp to travel the world working for peace and the ongoing impact of his life and death in the ongoing story of Christian peacemaking in a war-torn world.

MJ was a modern Mennonite armed with wit and intellect, but not a gun. The son of a Mennonite pastor, he demonstrated a gift for listening and persuading early in life. His efforts to approach others with acknowledgement rather than judgement gave him the ability to connect on a level very few managed. He also honed a deep commitment to peace, and after college he joined the Mennonite Mission Network and moved to Germany, where he persuaded soldiers to choose peace and free them of their violent systems.

    • Hope For The Hurting

      $14.99

      Life is painful.

Everyone’s story comes with unique challenges, difficulties, bumps, and bruises that leave you lost and drowning in their wake. It could be a financial disaster, a health issue, a broken relationship, or the loss of a loved one.

Dr. Tony Evans, bestselling author and pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, understands life’s hardships firsthand. In a span of less than two years, he lost his brother, sister, brother-in-law, two nieces, father, and wife. At the same time, both of his daughters received cancer diagnoses. In the wake of all this pain, Dr. Evans had to put into practice, at the deepest levels, the truths he has preached about God for more than forty years.

God’s Word doesn’t promise us a life free from pain and trouble. It promises us something else-Someone else. Someone who will walk with us through all of life’s trials and troubles.

There is hope for the hurting: His name is Jesus.

    • Raising The Sparks

      $19.00

Raising the Sparks, Jennifer Wallace’s sixth poetry collection, is inspired by the alignment of Christian and Judaic traditions. The idea of raising the sparks, tikkun olam, comes from 16th century mystical Judaism–the belief that, if people worked to “gather or raise the sparks” from the sacred vessels that shattered at the moment of creation, a repair of the world from its initial splitting would be complete. It is the duty of each one of us to raise the sparks from wherever they are imprisoned and to elevate them to holiness. Also informing this work is the Jesuit idea of finding God in all things and conversing (without clerical intervention) directly with Jesus. The poems in this collection engage with these theological traditions by witnessing the human joys and challenges of attending to their mandates.

      $19.00

      W. H. Auden, Jorge Luis Borges, Howard Thurman, Julia Equivel, Thomas Merton, Langston Hughes, Pedro Pietri and Miguel Piñero, in their work make a connection between poetry, social criticism and the meaning of life together-that is a part of Recinos’ own literary labor. His work creates a fusion between the personal and the public in verse that is searching, expansive and walking hurt streets. Cornered by the Dark is a work about truth-telling and witness-bearing to the marginal men, women and children who tell their story about a culture of indifference and callousness while finding courage and compassion to hope in everyday life. He uses the language of poetry in this collection to awaken the conscience to the world of social inequality, racism, xenophobia, poverty, and the pulse of existence in contexts beyond the dominant gaze of society.

Cornered by the Dark encourages readers to use their imagination to live into invisible communities and to pause in the places of difficult knowing where the voiceless speak. The unique contributions of this collection of poetry will be aided by Recinos’ lived experience that empowers it: His life story began in the South Bronx. A tough place. A tormented place. His destitute Puerto Rican mother and Guatemalan father came to the United States motivated by their desperate flight from a life of misery and despair. They never lived the American Dream; instead, they remained economically marginal and cultural strangers in America. Sadly, their desperate conditions of life caused them to abandon Recinos to live on the streets. On the streets, he discovered a world of extreme poverty and drugs, until four years later when he was taken in by a White Presbyterian minister and his family. With this family, he began a drug-free life, went to the College of Wooster, and eventually earned a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology with honors from The American University in Washington, D.C. Recinos’ existential reality informs his poetic gaze.

      $14.99

We often think that it is quite easy to answer if we are asked who we are. However, if we ask ourselves that question, we cannot answer with any certainty. Most people do not know who they are; rather they respond based on what they do. Hence the insecurities, fears, and the difficulty in recognizing their talents, having satisfactory interpersonal relationships, feeling good about who they are, and being happy. In See Yourself Beautiful, See Yourself Happy, Sonia Luna shares her profound knowledge on women and human beings, not only on a spiritual level, but also on a psychological and emotional level. She begins by presenting herself as a child and later as a teenager, to explain the development of being and how finding out who we are is a journey that unfolds. This journey is shaped by our experiences since birth, the influences of our families, the moments that mark us, and the many stages that we go through in our development as human beings. Sonia invites us to discover who we are in order to achieve fulfillment and happiness, and see the best in ourselves.

The path to success is never easy. In Flip the Script you will learn the life-changing lessons of leadership and determination Coach O discovered on the road to a championship.

Ed Orgeron, head coach of the record-breaking national champion LSU Tigers football team, tells the inspiring story of reversing the team’s fortunes and culture, as well as his own remarkable leadership journey from disappointment and setback to the apex of college sports.

The storybook football season for the LSU Tigers in 2019 was the stuff of legend: a team with recently unmet expectations became the undefeated national champion with a Heisman trophy-winning transfer quarterback under the leadership of a coach whose previous coaching stops had been disappointments. Yet that coach, Ed Orgeron, had turned everything around. He flipped the script, transforming a program that lately had not reached its potential into a team of unprecedented dominance. Flip the Script is the story of how it happened, with lessons for anyone who wants to succeed. Telling the story of his own journey that culminated in the Cinderella season, Orgeron highlights the traits he learned are necessary for success:

    • Wisdom Of Your Body

      $66.65

Many of us have a complicated relationship with our body. Maybe you’ve been made to feel ashamed of your body or that it isn’t good enough. Maybe your body is riddled with stress, pain, or the effects of trauma. Maybe you think of your body as an accessory to what you believe you really are–your mind. Whatever the reason, many of us don’t feel at home in our bodies. But being disconnected from ourselves as bodies means being disconnected from truly living and from the divinely created fabric that weaves us all together.

Psychologist and award-winning researcher Hillary McBride explores the ways we inherit a broken and unhealthy understanding of the body and offers a more compassionate, healthy, and holistic perspective on embodied living. Weaving together illuminating research, stories from her work as a therapist, and deeply personal narratives of healing–from a life-threatening eating disorder, a near-fatal car accident, and chronic pain–McBride invites us to reclaim the wisdom of the body and to experience the wholeness that has been there all along. • Finding Quiet : My Journey To Peace In An Anxious World

      $22.50

Many of us live in between two extremes when it comes to mental health. On one side, we are told to embrace anxiety as a part of our being. The best we can do is medicate and live with it. On the other side, we’re told that freedom can be found if we believe hard enough, and that we’re at fault if we can’t get over the thoughts that hold us back.

But what if there is another way? A way to acknowledge the struggles and learn how to manage the things that trigger us while believing in the promises and goodness of God?

This is the tension that Jamie Grace has lived in for most of her life. Known as a singer with a vibrant personality, Jamie has spent the last decade touring and speaking about her faith on stages and in front of the camera. But behind the scenes she was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome, OCD, ADHD, and an anxiety disorder as a preteen. Since then she has faced inner battles that have included panic attacks and self-harm. In Finding Quiet, Jamie shares what she has learned about managing the negative effects of her diagnoses, harnessing the positive outcomes, and leaning into the journey God has led her on.

      $18.99

A coming-of-age travel memoir that probes thorny spiritual questions while taking the reader on a wild ride from the deep American South to the Middle East, Europe, and the Far East.

Once the golden girl of her Arkansas town, Natalie finds herself squeezed under small town shame and rejection after being kicked out of church for getting a divorce. It’s a hard fall off of a sanctimonious high horse, and religious fundamentalism has left her feeling broken and stuck. But she can’t shake the ‘wanderlust woes’ that have plagued her since childhood, so she runs away to the Middle East. As a mostly-sheltered Southerner, she struggles to adapt but is determined to be ‘at home’ in the world.

Her journey is more than a pilgrimage, it’s a peregrination: a one-way ticket to elsewhere in search of the place of her own resurrection. Within these pages is a suspenseful adventure filled with love, loss, laughter, tears, and a little bit of scandalous behavior, but at the heart of it, Natalie walks squarely into the unknown to confront the secret matters of the soul that we wrestle with at night.

    • Gap Decade : When You’re Technically An Adult But Really Don’t Feel Like It

      $17.99

“A gap decade isn’t a cute whim of a decision to take a pause and travel to Italy for a few months. Nah. A gap decade is a cluster of challenging, transitional years that the universe just dumps in your lap. And my lap. And pretty much everyone’s lap. It’s that twilight zone between ‘young person’ and ‘full-blown adult’ that sort of washes in, bringing with it a bit of chaos, growth, and self-discovery. It is a few years of flailing around, trying to figure out what the heck is happening as you move from not old to kinda old. From young adult to adult adult.” The gap decade is that sometimes difficult transitional season young adults face in their twenties and early thirties. In this quirky and honest chronicle, Katie Schnack names the awkward realities of living in that gap between adolescence and adulthood. She and her husband go on an unpredictable journey through a decade of never-ending transitions as they make multiple moves across five states, face job interviews and tax returns, and go through anxiety, loss, pregnancy, and countless episodes of The Office.* Along the way, Schnack explores the common experiences of these young adulting years: The uncertainty of waiting when you’re stuck and don’t know what steps to take. Learning to trust in God’s provision when you are broke like a joke. Admitting your need for help when panic attacks strike. And discovering a life full of grace and joys that can’t be ordered via two-day delivery. *Katie has binged all nine seasons of The Office–four times. Don’t do the math about how many hours of TV that is. She doesn’t want to know.

    • Well Laugh About This Someday

      $18.99

From popular humor writer and social media sensation Anna Lind Thomas comes an essay collection that is sure to make you laugh, cry, and cry from laughing as you discover how to take life a smidge less seriously.

The woman known for the viral story “The Fart That (Almost) Altered My Destiny” brings her endearing brand of anything-goes, slapstick humor to her first book, We’ll Laugh About This (Someday). Whether she’s coping with the “hysteria bandwagon” that permeates social media; recounting the time her epidural worked a little too well; or sharing about the night she and her husband panicked over a suspected intruder–what do we do with our hands?–only to discover the loud noise that had pierced the night came from their kids’ toys falling in the bathtub, Anna Lind Thomas is deft at telling the truth as she sees it, even if it later proves to be a wee bit of an overreaction.

In her down-to-earth style, Thomas pokes fun at herself–her propensity to dispense questionable dating advice to friends, including the time she urged her former prom date to break up with the singer who would later become Lady Gaga (oops), and her parenting paranoia, realized after buying nearly every child safety product known to humankind. Readers will savor her emotional, faith-filled inspiration and will appreciate her reminder not to take life too seriously. After all, she says, sweating the big stuff and the small stuff only produces a life full of sweating, which is a real problem since apparently deodorant can give us breast cancer.

    • Master Mind : The Memoirs Of Napoleon Hill

      $22.43

Napoleon Hill on two occasions wrote extensive memoirs about his life, starting with his youth in Wise County, Virginia, and ending, apparently, during World War II. I say “apparently” because the archives of the Napoleon Hill Foundation contain these two manuscripts, but they are obviously incomplete and end in the 1940s. Mr. Hill died in 1970. His last book, Grow Rich with Peace of Mind, was written in 1967 and sheds some light on his later years; but his own journals and memoirs of those years, if they ever existed, have not yet been found.

The two memoirs were titled by Mr. Hill, Wheel of Fortune and Hand of Destiny. They contain details of his life, including his four marriages, two divorces and one annulment, which we at the Foundation have not seen in any of his other writings or speeches. They also contain many details about his successes and failures in business and there were more failures than successes, as he readily admits. The memoirs contain thoughtful insights into the state of mind of this great thinker–how he dealt with failure, profited from defeat, turned adversity into advantage, and ultimately achieved happiness with his last wife, Annie Lou, happiness which had eluded him for most of his life.

Mr. Hill has said that the Master Mind principle, in which two or more minds work harmoniously to achieve a common goal, is the most important of the seventeen principles of success he studied during his decades of research into how people attain happy and successful lives. One of the many interesting stories in the memoirs is about how he and his third wife, Rosa Lee, used the Master Mind principle to discover the only one of the seventeen principles that no one had understood or realized before, Cosmic Habitforce.

The Trustees of the Napoleon Hill Foundation have combined the two memoirs into one, editing out repetition and putting events in chronological order where it made sense to do so. They chose to title the combined memoirs Master Mind, in recognition of the importance this principle played in his philosophy and life, and as a tribute to the mental giant who was the greatest thinker and writer ever in the fields of personal achievement and self-improvement.

Destination Hope: A Travel Companion When Life Falls Apart offers camaraderie and a beacon of hope for women who feel alone in loss, struggle, or change of circumstance. Readers are encouraged to see loss and hardship as part of lifex27s journey and are constantly reminded to turn their gaze upwards, to the Purveyor of Hope. These are declarative poems, faithfully proclaiming the gospel story in all its liberative power. Here the gospel is the “fresh words / that speak of / things impossible.” From the Magnificat (“That girl can sing! . . . She has a voice / That can shatter shackles”) to the baptism of Christ (“I stepped in / Committing insurrection”), this collection helps us hear the hum of deliverance–against all hope–that’s been in the gospel all along.

      $16.99

A global citizen. A commitment to sharing the peace of Jesus. A witness to the difference that Jesus makes.

The story David Shenk either begins in Shirati Village in Tanganyika, East Africa, or we might decide it begins among the orchards of Lancaster County, Pa., where farmers with their horses line up a mile for water as they rearrange their loads for their trek home on market day. In either reading, this is a story of mission–a story of people chattering along a roadside spring on the way to and from market.

At age six, Shenk asked his parents, What difference does Jesus make? The answer to that question is the reason he became a Christian. Day by day, as he travels in the way of Jesus–living, serving, and ministering around the world–Shenk continues to unpack what difference Jesus makes.

This is the story not just of Shenk and his remarkable work in Christian missions. It’s the stories that David has heard within societies, cultures, and religions when he asks the question: What difference does Jesus make?

    • Abuelita Faith : What Women On The Margins Teach Us About Wisdom, Persisten

      $49.98

What if some of our greatest theologians wouldn’t be considered theologians at all?

Kat Armas, a second-generation Cuban-American, grew up on the outskirts of Little Havana, Miami’s famed Cuban neighborhood. Her earliest theological formation came from her grandmother, her abuelita, who fled Fidel Castro’s regime and raised three children alone after her husband passed away. Combining personal storytelling with biblical reflection, Armas shows us how voices on the margins–those often dismissed, isolated, and oppressed because of their gender, socioeconomic status, or lack of education–have more to tell us about Christian faith than we realize.

Abuelita Faith tells the story of unnamed and overlooked theologians in society and in the Bible–mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and daughters–whose survival, strength, resistance, and persistence teach us the true power of faith and love. The author’s exploration of abuelita theology will help people of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds reflect on the abuelitas in their own lives and ministries and on ways they can live out abuelita faith in their day-to-day lives.

It is about the costs of discipleship–the jailings, the floggings, the despair, the sacrifice. And it is about the transforming work of faith that allowed John to respond to such overwhelming indignities with miraculous compassion, vision, and hope.

Nearly everyone knows someone on the autism spectrum, whether it’s a niece or nephew, a student in their classroom, a coworker, or a sibling, spouse, or child. One in 59 children is diagnosed with autism, according to the CDC, and autism is reported across racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups. Yet most of what people think they know about autism is wrong.

On the Spectrum debunks myths with a realistic yet hope-filled deep dive into the heart, mind, and life of a Christian. Daniel Bowman, a novelist, poet, and professor, received an autism diagnosis at age thirty-five after experiencing a time of crisis in his personal and professional life. For him, the diagnosis shed light on his experience in a new, life-giving way. In this captivating book, Bowman reveals new insights into autism, relationships, faith, and the gift of neurodiversity.

Rather than viewing autism as a deficiency, Bowman teaches readers–through stories of his heartbreaks and triumphs–authentic ways to love their neighbors as themselves, including their autistic neighbors who are fearfully and wonderfully, if differently, made.

    • Abuelita Faith : What Women On The Margins Teach Us About Wisdom, Persisten

      $19.99

    • Cradling Abundance : One African Christian’s Story Of Empowering Women And

      $26.99

Growing up in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Monique Misenga Ngoie Mukuna persevered through many challenges: political turmoil and violence, misogyny and patriarchy, lack of community resources and personal loss.

As she carved out a life for herself, her family, and her community, she kept seeing the same story played out for women vulnerable and trapped in poverty. Every system was stacked against them. So “Maman” Monique committed to take action in every sphere she could: through education, the local and national church, and international cooperation. In 1999 she joined with other Christian women to start the nonprofit Femme, Berceau de l’Abondance–Woman, Cradle of Abundance. The very personal story of Maman Monique opens a unique window on the lives of women in Congo, across Africa, and throughout the Majority World. In Cradling Abundance she recounts her remarkable experiences as a gifted student and teacher, successful businesswoman, local and denominational church leader, visionary social activist, and matriarch for her extended family. With stories of other African women woven in, this narrative presents a panoramic view of Christian women at work at every level of the church and community. We see the resistance they face even within their own congregations and families, as well as how their faith leads them to oppose injustice, discrimination, and suffering. Professor Elsie McKee introduces the autobiography of her friend Maman Monique (translating it from conversations in French and Tshiluba), then provides helpful historical background and textual notes throughout, along with a study guide to additional cultural information. For anyone interested in how lay women lead in Christian ministries, what it takes to start a pioneering nonprofit, or how empowering women is critical to the health of communities, Cradling Abundance is a unique and gripping resource.

    • When Thoughts And Prayers Arent Enough

      $25.99

Taylor Schumann never thought she’d be a victim of gun violence.

But one spring day a man with a shotgun walked into her workplace and opened fire on her. While she survived, she was left with permanent wounds, both visible and invisible. In When Thoughts and Prayers Aren’t Enough, Taylor invites us to see what it means to be a survivor after the news vehicles drive away and the media moves on. Healing is slow and complicated. As she suffered through surgeries, grueling rehabilitation, and counseling to repair the physical injuries and emotional trauma, she came face to face with the deep and lasting impact of gun violence. As she began grappling with the realities, Taylor experienced another painful truth: Christians have largely been absent from this issue. Gun violence undercuts God’s vision of abundant life and community–and the silence of the church rings loudly in the ears of survivors and families of victims. Taylor weaves her own incredible story of survival and recovery into a larger conversation about gun violence in our country. With compassion and honesty, she encourages readers to reconsider their own engagement with the issue and to join her in envisioning a more hopeful, safer future for our nation. Move beyond thoughts and prayers and enter into grace-filled dialogue and action.

    • Always God : He Hasn’t Changed And You Are Not Forgotten

      $18.00

A message of hope for an anxious day: God never changes. He is still here and ready to transform our lives. What we must ask is if we are ready to respond to him.

The influential teaching pastor of one of America’s largest megachurches calls out a common feeling: It’s easy to wonder if God has just… left. There is a rising sense of uncertainty and turmoil in the world. Our individual lives are often touched by disappointment, confusion, or regret. Sometimes, if we’re honest, we can even feel abandoned by God. Pastor Jarrett Stephens has been there, engaging personal doubt and frustration, and learning how to walk with others through their own anxieties into a better future.

Throughout Scripture, God reveals himself using various names to describe his nature and character. Each tells us something fascinating about his character. The eternal name God chose to use when revealing himself to Moses at the burning bush was I AM, indicating how, while others change, God does not. Centuries later, Jesus ascribed this title to himself, giving seven distinct I AM statements, which help us see how the I AM from the past is still the I AM today. This unfailing, good nature of the always God helps us find solid footing in a shifting world.

The Always God gives hope to those who think God has given up on us or is no longer responding. It invites us to quiet ourselves and listen to the God who does not change or forget us. Not ever. And that changes everything.

      $16.99

We live in a broken world. Amid the daily realities of sickness and isolation, disappointment and pain, it can be profoundly difficult to grasp the real goodness of God. But this is where God breaks into our darkness with beauty. In the wonder of creation, in art or film, story or song, in the kindness of his people and the good they create, God breaks into our pain in a tangible way, teaching us to trust his kindness and hope for his healing. Beauty is a voice singing into our suffering, beckoning us toward restoration.

In This Beautiful Truth, Sarah Clarkson shares her own encounters with beauty in the midst of her decade-long struggle with mental illness, depression, and doubt. In a voice both vulnerable and reflective, she paints a compelling picture of the God who reaches out to us in a real and powerful way through the “taste and see” goodness of what he has made and what he continues to create amid our darkness. “To recognize and trust God’s gift in pain,” she writes, “empowers us to create and love as powerful witnesses to God’s healing love in a hopeless world.”If you want to renew your capacity to recognize and encounter God’s beauty in your life, this hope-filled book will show you the way.

    • Death By Living

      $19.99

A poetic portrait of faith, futility, and the joy of this mortal life.In this astoundingly unique book, bestselling author N.D. Wilson reminds each of us that to truly live we must recognize that we are dying. Every second we create more of our past-more decisions, more breathing, more love and more loathing, all of it slides by into the gone as we race to grab at more moments, at more memories made and already fading.

We are all authors, creators of our own pasts, of the books that will be our lives. We stare at the future or obsess about the present, but only the past has been set in stone, and we are the ones setting it. When we race across the wet concrete of time without purpose, without goals, without laughter and love and sacrifice, then we fail in our mortal moment. We race toward our inevitable ends without artistry and without beauty.

All of us must pause and breathe. See the past, see your life as the fruit of providence and thousands of personal narratives. What led to you? You did not choose where to set your feet in time. You choose where to set them next.

Then, we must see the future, not just to stare into the fog of distant years but to see the crystal choices as they race toward us in this sharp foreground we call the present. We stand in the now.

God says create. Live. Choose. Shape the past. Etch your life in stone, and what you make will be forever.

    • Kill The Noise

      $19.99

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done, God wants a relationship with you.

When we turn to the Lord, He is there waiting to forgive us and give us a purpose for our lives. Unfortunately, teens and adults are surrounded by so much noise from social media, the entertainment industry, drugs, pornography, the occult, bullying, and social expectations that it is nearly impossible to hear the truth of a God who will take them as they are. This book is written to help this generation kill that noise, so that teens and adults can hear the voice of God telling them they are loved, they are wanted, and they are His.

Ryan Ries is living proof of this truth. Growing up in Los Angeles, California as the son of a mega-church pastor, but surrounded by the music, skate, and snowboard industries, Ryan felt a tug-of-war between the church and the world. It was in the skate and music culture that he found his passion and his identity. So he walked away from God and dove head first into the world, losing his way in alcohol, drugs, and sex, which lead to anxiety, brokenness, and emptiness. Kill the Noise is his story about finding God in the messiness of life, even though it seemed impossible, and will help readers find Him too.

    • Out Of The Cave

      $19.99

Bestselling author and pastor Chris Hodges helps those struggling with depression find liberating solutions by drawing from the life of the prophet Elijah.

Shame about the dark thoughts swirling in your mind. Guilt about how powerless you feel to overcome negative emotions. Alternating bouts of sadness and numbness. You might be asking, Should a Christian even be having these struggles?

Depression is the number one health issue in the world today, yet those who suffer are still sometimes stigmatized–especially followers of Jesus. Many assume God’s peace, power, and protection should prevent us from ever feeling anxious, depressed, and afraid. But the Bible teaches otherwise, particularly in its depiction of the life of the Old Testament prophet Elijah.

In Out of the Cave, bestselling author and pastor Chris Hodges uses Elijah’s life to show us that everyone is susceptible to depression. Even when we’re walking closely with God, we can still stumble and get lost in the wilderness of tangled emotions. But we don’t have to stay there, because we serve a God who meets us in the darkness. Out of the Cave helps us:
      *remove the stigma of depression and realize we’re not alone;
*understand the ways our temperament and view of God affect the way we handle depression; and
*learn a comprehensive approach to wellness-mind, body, and soul-from Elijah’s journey.

With his trademark blend of Bible-based wisdom, practical application, and vulnerability in sharing his personal struggles, Hodges explores the causes of depression we can’t change, the contributors we can conquer, and offers transformative hope and spiritual power to help us win the battle.

    • Pastrix : The Cranky, Beautiful Faith Of A Sinner And Saint

      $18.99

Pastrix: a derogatory term used by Christians who refuse to recognize female pastors.

Heavily tattooed and loud-mouthed, Nadia Bolz-Weber, a former stand-up comic, sure as hell didn’t consider herself to be religious leader material–until the day she ended up leading a friend’s funeral in a smoky downtown comedy club. Surrounded by fellow alcoholics, depressives, and cynics, she realized: These were her people. Maybe she was meant to be their pastor.

Using life stories–from living in a hopeful-but-haggard commune of slackers to surviving the wobbly chairs and war stories of a group for recovering alcoholics, from her unusual but undeniable spiritual calling to pastoring a notorious con artist–Nadia uses humorous narrative and poignant honesty to portray a woman who is both deeply faithful and deeply flawed, giving hope to the rest of us along the way.

Wildly entertaining and deeply resonant, this is the book for people who hunger for a bit of hope that doesn’t come from vapid consumerism or navel-gazing; for women who talk too loudly and guys who love chick flicks; for the gay man who loves Jesus, and won’t allow himself to be shunned by the church. In short, this book is for every thinking misfit suspicious of institutionalized religion but still seeking transcendence and mystery.

In the years since this book was first released, Nadia has grown into a leading voice of the progressive Christian left–hosting conferences for thousands, launching a leading podcast, acting as a flashpoint for discussion of issues of sexuality and gender identity–and she is committed to using her platform and the support of her influential friends to promote the new edition of this classic book.

It roots itself deep in the subconscious and darkens your dominating thoughts, coloring your perceptions and, in turn, your actions. But fear does not have to write your story. It is simply an emotion–one that can be mastered and channeled to work for, rather than against, you.
This guidebook contains Napoleon Hill’s best advice for throwing off the chains of fear, finding opportunity within temporary defeat, and living life with intention. You’ll learn how to:

      *Develop the self-confidence, faith, and willpower you need to overcome even the most challenging obstacle;

      *Reduce your vulnerability to the negative influences of others;

      *Conquer the seven basic fears by forming new mental habits;

      *Filter the noise around you and de-escalate the panic of Fearenza and Worryitis;

*Harness the power of Cosmic Habitforce to accelerate your success; and,

*Implement the mastermind principle to identify new opportunities for Collaboration and innovation.

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!”

This famous line from Franklin D. Roosevelt’s inaugural address is etched into the public consciousness, but few people know that its inspiration derived from one of his advisors, Napoleon Hill. Commissioned by the great steel magnate Andrew Carnegie to build a philosophy of individual achievement, Hill spent 25 years conducting research on more than 500 distinguished individuals to uncover a magic law of the human mind that guaranteed personal and professional success. The achievement principles he discovered enabled a generation to break the bonds of fear responsible for exacerbating the ills of the Great Depression and world war and raise themselves to new levels of success–and they continue to do so today.

If there was ever a time in this country when men and women need to recognize the power of their own minds, when they need to overcome frustration and fear, that time is now. There is too much fear spread around, too many people talking about depressions. …Let’s get our minds, each and every one of us as individuals, fixed upon a definite goal so big and so outstanding tha

    • Hinge Moments : Making The Most Of Life’s Transitions

      $22.99

In life we have moments in time in which we have an opportunity before us to make a change or to respond to a situation.

According to Michael Lindsay, president of Gordon College, what follows these instances will depend intrinsically on the decisions we make and the actions we take. These are what he calls “hinge moments”–opportunities to open (or close) doors to various pathways of our lives. Lindsay maintains that getting these moments right can change our lives for the better, and getting them wrong can pose problems for years to come: “Some transitions have a disproportionate impact on our happiness, our contribution to society, and our family’s well-being.” In these pages Lindsay shares faith-based stories of success and failure from his ten-year study of 550 PLATINUM leaders. He has charted seven phases of transition, providing both practical and spiritual insights for making the most of each stage. In uncertain and tumultuous times, there is no better advantage than wisdom gained early.

    • Gods Hostage : A True Story Of Persecution, Imprisonment, And Perseverance

      $21.17

In 1993, Andrew Brunson was asked to travel to Turkey, the largest unevangelized country in the world, to serve as a missionary. Though hesitant because of the daunting and dangerous task that lay ahead, Andrew and his wife, Norine, believed this was God’s plan for them.

What followed was a string of threats and attacks, but also successes in starting new churches in a place where many people had never met a Christian. As their work with refugees from Syria, including Kurds, gained attention and suspicion, Andrew and Norine acknowledged the threat but accepted the risk, determining to stay unless God told them to leave.

In 2016, they were arrested. Though the State eventually released Norine, who remained in Turkey, Andrew was imprisoned. Accused of being a spy and being among the plotters of the attempted coup, he became a political pawn whose story soon became known around the world.

God’s Hostage is the incredible true story of his imprisonment, his brokenness, and his eventual freedom. Anyone with a heart for missions, especially to the Muslim world, will love this tension-laden and faith-laced book.

      $21.60

      Chip Gaines likes to sweat.

That’s been true ever since he was a little pint-sized hustler selling candy and Capri Suns down at the public tennis courts in northeast Texas. You’ve probably seen him sweat on his television show, Fixer Upper. Deep in his bones he has always known that hard work yields great results, even when there’s little observable evidence of it. On the cusp of launching into what might be the hardest work he and his wife, Joanna, have ever done-building a television network-Chip realized that he’s as proud of the man he’s become as what he’s achieved, and that man would not exist without his network of people.

Call it a network, a community, a home team. We’ve all got one, including you. Today it might be made up of your family, your neighbors, the people you work with. But if you want a network that will pull you into a life of meaning, a life of joy and connection, you need to be intentional about choosing the people in it. People who are enlivened and electrified by the power of living according to their purpose, who are always in pursuit of lifelong learning, and who have a sincere belief that relationships are more than transactions. Chip Gaines has been building that kind of network his whole life, and he can tell you, it doesn’t come easy.

To say it requires sweat equity would be an understatement. It requires faith in people. It requires hope. And it requires a willingness to grow even when it hurts. In No Pain, No Gaines, through hard-won lessons and personal stories, Chip will coach you on how to build a network of your own that will make your life richer than you’ve ever imagined.

    • My Vertical Neighborhood

      $17.99

What if our neighbors were our friends?

When Lynda MacGibbon moved from a small city in eastern Canada to a high-rise apartment in Toronto, she decided to follow Jesus’ famous commandment to “love your neighbor” a bit more literally. In the past, she would have looked first for friends at her new job or her new church. This time, though, she decided to look for friends among the strangers who shared her apartment building–her actual neighbors in her new “vertical neighborhood.” In this charming and relatable memoir, MacGibbon tells the story of the community that took shape as neighbors said yes to weekly dinners and a writing group, Christmas morning brunch and even a Bible study. It’s a story of the simple, everyday risk of reaching out with love to those around us, and of the beauty and messiness of real human relationships. It’s a story of the risks–and rewards–of taking Jesus at his word.

    • Women Of The Bible Speak

      $21.00

The women of the Bible lived timeless stories–by examining them, we can understand what it means to be a woman of faith.

People unfamiliar with Scripture often assume that women play a small, secondary role in the Bible. But in fact, they were central figures in numerous Biblical tales. It was Queen Esther’s bravery at a vital point in history which saved her entire people. The Bible contains warriors like Jael, judges like Deborah, and prophets like Miriam. The first person to witness Jesus’ resurrection was Mary Magdalene, who promptly became the first Christian evangelist, eager to share the news which would change the world forever.

In The Women of the Bible Speak, Fox News Channel’s Shannon Bream opens up the lives of sixteen of these Biblical women, arranging them into pairs and contrasting their journeys. In pairing their stories, Shannon helps us reflect not only on the meaning of each individual’s life, but on how they relate to each other and to us.

From the shepherdesses of ancient Israel who helped raise the future leaders of the people of God, to the courageous early Christians, the narrative of the Bible offers us many vivid and fascinating female characters. In their lives we can see common struggles to resist bitterness, despair, and pride, and to instead find their true selves in faith, hope, and love. In studying these heroes of the faith, we can find wisdom and warnings for how to better navigate our own faith journeys.

The Women of the Bible Speak outlines the lessons we can take from the valor of Esther, the hope of Hannah, the audacity of Rahab, and the faith of Mary. In broadening each woman’s individual story, Shannon offers us a deeper understanding of each, and wisdom and insights that can transform our own lives today.

      $33.99

“I don’t know how to say what the grace of God is. What I can say is what it’s like for me.”

We all know about grace being amazing-after all, there’s a whole song about it-but Patrick Henry reminds us that that’s not all it is. It’s also intimidating, disorienting, demanding, reassuring, and sometimes even just downright mind-boggling. Describing thirty-three different aspects of grace based on his everyday experiences, Henry tells the story of a grace that is wide-ranging and comprehensive-if not always comprehensible. Rather than trying to capture and tame his encounters with God, he lets the mystery of memory speak for itself, exemplifying his mantra that being a Christian is about being “an explorer, not a colonizer.”

Flashes of Grace is wise and grounded, earnest and light, faithful and quirky. Henry describes encountering grace in airports, baseball, hazelnuts, and just about anywhere else you can imagine, while engaging with dialogue partners ranging from King Saul and Saint Augustine to Yogi Berra and Captain Picard. For anyone longing to connect (or reconnect) with God, this book provides a surprising journey that broadens perspectives and explores strange new worlds, while loosening stiff spiritual joints so movement can be free and spontaneous..

Throughout American history, Black people were not given the freedom to acknowledge their suffering. A. D. Thomason believes that the Holy Spirit brings freedom and liberation as we’re able to name our pain, recognize its roots in history and society, and seek healing. While many saw a confident, six-foot-five Black man, A. D. “Lumkile” Thomason lived most of his life in fear and anguish, deeply wounded by encounters with violence, abandonment, and family tragedy. Hiding behind a tough exterior, Adam earned his “Black card” but felt joyless inside. Even traveling around the globe to play professional basketball could not resolve his despair. But in the art of Jay-Z, A. D. discovered stirring honesty that gave voice to his own expressions of longing. And in the gospel of Jesus, he experienced the healing and salvation that had long evaded him. Now through what he calls “kingdom therapy,” he’s figuring out how to redefine the Jay-Z and Jesus that make up his blackness. A. D. uses his artistry as a poet and storyteller to share how he confessed his internalized pain and embraced the liberating joy of Christ. He writes for millennials, emerging adults, and anyone else who’s ready to acknowledge the reality of racial trauma and our need to confront it. A. D.’s powerful story gives you permission to be Black, to be Christian, and to be the person God has made you to be.
