Julia (JuJu) Ready begins life in a hard place. Born to an unwed teenage mother in 1948, she is eventually given up for adoption at the age of eleven months, handed over to a couple who probably should never have had children. As she grows, the rejection by her birth mother, coupled with verbal abuse and neglect from her adopted parents, leads her to resentment that grows deeper and deeper into a series of bad choices.
JuJu’s saving grace and refuge has always been her Grandma Jean who lives across the highway on the family farm. Despite her grandmother’s unconditional love and fervent prayers, JuJu grows distant following a tragic event that hardens her heart. She withdraws from her friends, intent on graduating high school early and leaving the small town of Serendipity, Georgia far behind. JuJu’s good intentions to stay in touch with Grandma Jean are overcome by the freedom she has at college, and when tragedy occurs, she finds herself without an anchor in the adult world she is about to enter.
Armed with her diploma and plans for continued education, JuJu pushes her way into the field of higher learning, capturing the attention of her superior, a handsome fellow with a Ph.D., and a bucketful of charm and sophistication. Adam represents everything JuJu, now going by Julia, has ever wanted in a man, mature and smart, nothing like the boys from college or even graduate school. His flattery feeds a deep need in Julia, and it isn’t long before the relationship moves well beyond that of boss and employee. However, the past will rear its ugly head in the form of repeated loss, and Julia is left alone to pick up the pieces.
Forced to return to her rural hometown, Julia is hurt and ashamed, but mostly angry. Angry at how life has treated her. Angry at the God who rejected her by never answering her prayers. And extremely angry at the young man who is now running the family farm. Determined to get rid of him so she can sell the property, Julia is surprised to discover she has met her match when it comes to stubbornness. She’s doubly furious to learn of his devoted faith to God, which she finds beyond irritating.
Will Julia be influenced by Marley’s witness, or will she wear him down with her antagonistic approach to almost everything?
Rejection, rebellion, remorse, repentance, and resurrection come full circle in this story of a rocky path becoming good soil.

Kingdom Disciples : Heavens Representatives On Earth
$18.40The missing key to Christianity in America
There is a missing key in Christianity today. It is a critical key, and its absence has led to weak believers, disintegrating families, ineffective churches, and a decaying culture. Without the full use of this key, we lack the tools needed to fully live as heaven’s representatives on earth.
That missing key is discipleship. In Kingdom Disciples, Tony Evans outlines a simple, actionable definition of discipleship to help the church fulfill its calling. Readers will learn:
*What a disciple essentially is
*What a disciple cares about
*How to be a disciple and make disciples
*What discipleship looks like in community
*What the impact of discipleship on the world should beKingdom disciples are short supply, and the results are legions of powerless Christians attending powerless churches, resulting in a powerless presence in the world. The power, authority, abundance, victory, and impact God has promised will only come about when we understand and align ourselves with His definition of discipleship.
It is the goal of this book Kingdom Disciples to call believers and churches back to our primary, divinely ordained responsibility to be disciples and make disciples. Only when we take seriously this assignment will the world see heaven at work on earth. Will you accept the assignment?
Useful for base material in a course on discipleship.

Women Of The Bible Speak
$21.00The women of the Bible lived timeless stories–by examining them, we can understand what it means to be a woman of faith.
People unfamiliar with Scripture often assume that women play a small, secondary role in the Bible. But in fact, they were central figures in numerous Biblical tales. It was Queen Esther’s bravery at a vital point in history which saved her entire people. The Bible contains warriors like Jael, judges like Deborah, and prophets like Miriam. The first person to witness Jesus’ resurrection was Mary Magdalene, who promptly became the first Christian evangelist, eager to share the news which would change the world forever.
In The Women of the Bible Speak, Fox News Channel’s Shannon Bream opens up the lives of sixteen of these Biblical women, arranging them into pairs and contrasting their journeys. In pairing their stories, Shannon helps us reflect not only on the meaning of each individual’s life, but on how they relate to each other and to us.
From the shepherdesses of ancient Israel who helped raise the future leaders of the people of God, to the courageous early Christians, the narrative of the Bible offers us many vivid and fascinating female characters. In their lives we can see common struggles to resist bitterness, despair, and pride, and to instead find their true selves in faith, hope, and love. In studying these heroes of the faith, we can find wisdom and warnings for how to better navigate our own faith journeys.
The Women of the Bible Speak outlines the lessons we can take from the valor of Esther, the hope of Hannah, the audacity of Rahab, and the faith of Mary. In broadening each woman’s individual story, Shannon offers us a deeper understanding of each, and wisdom and insights that can transform our own lives today.
