Lectures To My Students Volume 3 Practical And Spiritual Guidance For Preac
$19.99“The solemn work of Christian ministry demands a man’s all, and that all should be at its best. To engage in ministry halfheartedly is an insult to God and man. Sleep must leave our eyelids before men are allowed to perish. Yet we are all prone to sleep, and students, among the rest, are apt to act the part of the foolish virgins. Therefore, I have sought to speak out my whole soul in the hope that I might not create or foster any dullness in others, and to this end, my lectures are colloquial, familiar, full of anecdote, and often humorous. May He, in whose hand are the churches and their pastors, bless these words to younger brethren in the ministry, and if so, I will count it more than a full reward and will gratefully praise the Lord.”

Permission To Be Black
$19.99Embracing your Christian identity does not make you “soft.” Embracing your Black identity does not make you less Christian.
Throughout American history, Black people were not given the freedom to acknowledge their suffering. A. D. Thomason believes that the Holy Spirit brings freedom and liberation as we’re able to name our pain, recognize its roots in history and society, and seek healing. While many saw a confident, six-foot-five Black man, A. D. “Lumkile” Thomason lived most of his life in fear and anguish, deeply wounded by encounters with violence, abandonment, and family tragedy. Hiding behind a tough exterior, Adam earned his “Black card” but felt joyless inside. Even traveling around the globe to play professional basketball could not resolve his despair. But in the art of Jay-Z, A. D. discovered stirring honesty that gave voice to his own expressions of longing. And in the gospel of Jesus, he experienced the healing and salvation that had long evaded him. Now through what he calls “kingdom therapy,” he’s figuring out how to redefine the Jay-Z and Jesus that make up his blackness. A. D. uses his artistry as a poet and storyteller to share how he confessed his internalized pain and embraced the liberating joy of Christ. He writes for millennials, emerging adults, and anyone else who’s ready to acknowledge the reality of racial trauma and our need to confront it. A. D.’s powerful story gives you permission to be Black, to be Christian, and to be the person God has made you to be.

Disability And The Church
$19.99Pastor Lamar Hardwick was thirty-six years old when he found out he was on the autism spectrum. This revelation prompted him to reconsider the church’s responsibilities to the disabled community. Insisting that the good news of Jesus affirms God’s image in all people, Hardwick offers practical steps and strategies to build stronger, truly inclusive communities of faith.
Lamar Hardwick was thirty-six years old when he found out he was on the autism spectrum. While this revelation helped him understand and process his own experience, it also prompted a difficult re-evaluation of who he was as a person. And as a pastor, it started him on a new path of considering the way disabled people are treated in the church. Disability and the Church is a practical and theological reconsideration of the church’s responsibilities to the disabled community. Too often disabled persons are pushed away from the church or made to feel unwelcome in any number of ways. As Hardwick writes, “This should not be.” He insists that the good news of Jesus affirms God’s image in all people, and he offers practical steps and strategies to build stronger, truly inclusive communities of faith.

100 Bible Verses That Made America
$22.99Esteemed author Robert J. Morgan explores 100 Bible verses that powerfully impacted our leaders during defining moments in American history and reflects upon what these verses mean for us as a nation today.
The Bible has played a starring role in American history from our nation’s beginnings. When George Washington was sworn into office as our first president, he did not place his hand on the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States, as hallowed as those documents are. Instead, he swore upon and even kissed the Bible to sanctify this important moment. The Bible, Washington knew, had ushered American history to this point.
Trying to explain American history without its Bible is like trying to understand the human body without its bloodstream. Had there been no Bible, there would be no America as we know it. It is the Bible that made America.
While not every Founding Father was a Christian, a Bible-believer, or a paragon of virtue and not every leader has honored the Bible nor appreciated its influence, there is an undeniable history of leaders who’ve been intimately acquainted with the contents of the Bible, who’ve studied its scriptures and respected its teachings. Journey with Robert J. Morgan as he teaches about the Bible’s role in the defining moments and impact on the people of our nation’s history, reminding us of the beauty at the intersection of faith and country and reigniting our hearts’ passions for both.

What Did The Cross Accomplish
$28.00In this book, readers will enjoy a fascinating and cordial discussion between N. T. Wright and Simon Gathercole on the meaning and nature of the doctrine of atonement. These two highly respected scholars discuss in clear and understandable language the meanings of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Their discussion explores various theories of atonement and looks closely at the Old Testament to discover Paul’s meaning of his words that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures.
Wright presents his case first, then Gathercole responds with a contrary point of view. Their discussion confronts questions including: What exactly is this “scandal of the cross”? What role does the notion of sacrifice, as understood in its ancient context, play in the atonement of Christ? Is the atonement a “victory”? How so? Was Christ a “substitute,” taking humankind’s place on the cross and suffering the death and judgment that sinners deserve? How does the death of Christ on the cross rescue or liberate sinners from death? Does the cross achieve benefits for only humans, or do those benefits extend to the entirety of creation? This book is a succinct conversation in which all these questions receive attention, with nuanced differences between the two interlocutors. This conversation along with Robert Stewart’s introductory framework make this book an excellent primer to the study of the atonement, and readers will come away with a deeper understanding of the meanings of the cross.

All That We Carried
$22.50Ten years ago, sisters Olivia and Melanie Greene were on a backcountry hiking trip when their parents were in a fatal car accident. Over the years, they grew apart, each coping with the loss in her own way. Olivia plunged herself into law school, work, and an atomistic view of the world–what you see is what you get, and that’s all you get. Melanie dropped out of college and developed an online life-coaching business around her cafeteria-style spirituality–a little of this, a little of that, whatever makes you happy.
Now, at Melanie’s insistence (and against Olivia’s better judgment), they are embarking on a hike in the Porcupine Mountains of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. In this remote wilderness they’ll face their deepest fears, question their most dearly held beliefs, and begin to see that perhaps the best way to move forward is the one way they had never considered.
Michigan Notable Book Award winner Erin Bartels draws from personal experience hiking backcountry trails with her sister to bring you a story about the complexities of grief, faith, and sisterhood.

Love In The Gospel Of John
$58.33The command to love is central to the Gospel of John. Internationally respected scholar Francis Moloney offers a thorough exploration of this theme, focusing not only on Jesus’s words but also on his actions. Instead of merely telling people that they must love one another, Jesus acts to make God’s love known and calls all who follow him to do the same.

Uniting rigorous exegesis with theological and pastoral insight, it makes a substantive contribution to contemporary Johannine scholarship.

Lamenting Racism Leaders Guide (Teacher’s Guide)
$16.99We need to talk about race. The Bible’s prayers of lament show us the way.
Stories of racial injustice fill our news feeds. Yet for too long many of us in the church have been hesitant to speak up. We fear offending others, of using the wrong words, of not knowing what to say.
In Lamenting Racism, a team of leading pastors and theologians come together to lay the groundwork for important conversations about racism in your congregation. In six, thought-provoking video sessions, they name that God’s people of every race are called to confront racism in every way possible. Together this team invites each of us to consider and give voice to how we have been shaped and formed by race.
Calling on us to reclaim the lost art of biblical lament, they offer a powerful way to pour out the fear, shame, grief, and rage of racism in prayer. In the process, we will be transformed, reclaiming hope for a world shaped by God’s inclusive vision of love and blessing.

America : The Last Best Hope – One Volume Edition
$39.99A single-volume edition of William J. Bennett’s bestselling series, thoroughly revised and updated.
“The role of history is to inform, inspire, and sometimes provoke us, which is why Bill Bennett’s wonderfully readable book is so important.” –Walter Isaacson
A decade ago, William J. Bennett published a magisterial three-volume account of our nation’s history. Now, Bennett returns to that bestselling trilogy, revising and condensing his epic tale into one volume, a page-turning narrative of our exceptional nation. In Bennett’s signature gripping prose, Washington, Franklin, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Reagan, and others reemerge not as marble icons or dust-dry names in a textbook, but as full-blooded, heroic pioneers whose far-reaching vision forged a nation that attracted and still attracts millions yearning to breathe free.
From the heroism of the Revolution to the dire hours of the Civil War, from the progressive reforms of the early 1900s to the civil rights reforms of the 1960s, from the high drama of the Space Race to the gut-wrenching tension of the Cold War, from the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of global Communism to the attacks of 9-11 and the war on terror, William J. Bennett captures the players, personalities, and pivotal moments of American history with piercing insight and unrelenting optimism. In this gripping tale of a nation, the story of what Lincoln referred to as “the last best hope of earth” comes alive in all its drama and personality.

Living Vocationally : The Journey Of The Called Life
$31.00In the thick of modern life, we are tempted to forget what we are doing and why we are doing it. We are busy socializing, building careers, and looking for fun–but what’s it all for? The ancient concept of “vocation” has recently gained popularity as we return to questions about the meaning of life. Almost all religions include the idea that divine purposes should guide our lives; Christianity has particularly accented it. The God who called Israel and sent Jesus has something in mind for us. God’s call challenges us, but also opens us to the best sort of life imaginable. In Living Vocationally, the challenge and the joy of the called life is thoroughly explored. Part one considers the benefits of living vocationally, biblical traditions of call, and subsequent Christian understandings. Part two examines why vocation pertains not only to careers, but indeed touches every dimension of our lives and encompasses our full journey through life. Because every person’s life includes many callings, some very difficult, part three considers the virtues we need to live the called life well. Living Vocationally demonstrates why to have found a calling is to have found a good way to live.

Defining Verse : Find Your Life’s Sentence Through The Lives Of 63 Bible Ch
$19.99“Scripture frequently sums up a man’s life in a single sentence.” (Charles Spurgeon)
Inspired by the great preacher Charles Spurgeon, Warren Wiersbe launched a personal study of the lives of prominent Bible characters. Interested in more than biographical facts, Wiersbe sought out the themes of each person’s life as reflected in the pages of scripture. How does the Bible summarize this person’s life? What is the key to understanding his or her character? How do I see my own life reflected in the life of this person?
The Defining Verse takes you into the lives of 63 biblical men and women who encountered an extraordinary God. For each, Wiersbe identifies a scripture verse that sums up that individual’s life and then reflects on the lessons to be learned, both positive and negative. Not only will you be challenged by these examples, you will be stimulated to consider what your “life sentence” will be.

Elijah Bible Study Book (Student/Study Guide)
$28.31Old Testament heroes are best known for their most celebrated, highlight moments: Moses dividing the Red Sea; David slaying Goliath; Gideon routing an insurmountable army; Joshua marching around the defiant walls of Jericho.
And Elijah-calling down fire on Mount Carmel.
Blinded by the remarkable narratives of our biblical heroes, we can forget they each had a backstory-months and years of development, even difficulty, which fortified their spiritual muscle and prepared them for the tasks that made their lives unforgettable.
This 7-session Bible study, on one of the premier ancient prophets, is your invitation to surrender to that process.
Every serious believer longs to summon up the kind of boldness and faith that can stand firm on Mount Carmel and pray down heaven into impossible situations. Yet few are willing to go through the process required to get them there. Strength of faith, character, and boldness can only be shaped in the hidden fires of silence, sameness, solitude, and adversity. Those who patiently wait on God in the darkness emerge with their holy loyalty cemented, their courage emblazoned, and their confident belief in Him set afire.
Join author and Bible teacher Priscilla Shirer on a journey through the life and times of Elijah. Discover how the fire on Mount Carmel was forged in the valley of famine. And how the emboldened, fiery faith you desire is being fashioned by God in your life right now.

3 Views On Christianity And Science
$18.99When it comes to relating Christianity to modern Western culture, perhaps no topic is more controversial than the relationship between Christianity and science. Outside the church, the myth of an age-old conflict between science and Christianity is nearly ubiquitous in popular culture and can poison the well before a fruitful dialogue can begin. Within the church, opposing viewpoints on the relation between Christianity and science often lead to division and rancor.
Three Views on Christianity and Science addresses both types of conflict. Featuring leading evangelical representatives, it presents three primary options for the compatibility of Christianity and science and models constructive dialogue on the surrounding controversial issues.
The highlighted contributors and their views are:
Michael Ruse, Independence View–When functioning correctly, science and Christian theology operate independently of each other, seeking answers to different questions through different means.
Alister McGrath, Dialogue View–Though the natural sciences and Christian philosophy and theology function differently, they can and should inform each other.
Bruce L. Gordon, Constrained Integration View–Science, philosophy, and theology all contribute to our understanding of reality. Their interactions constrain each other and together present an optimally coherent and integrated picture of reality.By engaging with the viewpoints of the contributors, readers will come away with a deeper understanding of the compatibility of science and Christianity, as well as of the positions of those who disagree with them. Scholars, students, pastors, and interested laypeople will be able to make use of this material in research, assignments, sermons and lessons, evangelism, and apologetics.

Radiant Church : Restoring The Credibility Of Our Witness
$22.99Something is not right. The witness of the church in North America is eroding.
Many Christians are alarmed by the decline in church attendance and seek a culprit. Too often, we point the finger away from the church, make culture the enemy, and build walls between us and others. But our antagonism and enemy-making are toxins that further eat away at our witness. Is there a better way? Tara Beth Leach could easily be one of those millennials giving up on the church. Instead, she is a pastor who loves the church and is paradoxically hopeful for its future. In an era where the church has lost much of its credibility, Leach casts a radiant vision for Christians to rediscover a robust, attractive witness. We need to name the toxic soil we’ve grown in, repent for past wrongs, and lean into a better way to become the church that Jesus proclaimed we would be. Leach casts down idolatrous false images of God to recover a winsome picture of a kingdom of abundance and goodness. We can be sustained by practices that will tune our hearts to God’s and form us into the radiant communities God intends for us and those around us.

Depression Anxiety And Other Things We Dont Want To Talk About
$19.99A pastor and licensed psychotherapist himself suffering from depression and anxiety takes on the relationship of mental health and faith while addressing the role of self-care, compassion, and restoration.
Everyone knows someone who suffers from anxiety, depression, or another form of mental illness, but a stigma around mental health remains–especially in the church. Ryan Casey Waller–pastor, therapist, and cosufferer–has experienced firsthand the jarring dissonance of wrestling with mental health while trying to maintain a vibrant Christian faith. It can be a discouraging, lonely battle. But it doesn’t have to be.
In this book, Waller emphasizes that mental health issues are not a symptom of a spiritual failing or insufficient faith; rather, suffering is the very thing our Savior seeks to heal as he leads us toward restoration. Combining practical theology, clinical insights, and deep compassion, Waller invites readers to:
*see why we need conversations in the church about mental health and how to have them;
*discover why seeking knowledge about one’s self is critical to growing deeper in relationship with God;
*understand the basics of brain health, the intersection of biology and spirituality, and why emotional intelligence deserves more attention;
*learn practical steps such as how to find a therapist, distinguish between a psychiatrist and a psychologist, and afford treatment; and
*become equipped to support loved ones with mental illness while promoting healthy self-care.

$11.99We need to talk about race.

Faith That Lasts
$21.99In their work as Christian apologists, father and son Stuart and Cameron McAllister hear from Christian parents who worry about raising their children in the faith amid a seductive culture. Reflecting on their own very different experiences of coming to Christian faith, they share how our homes can be places of honest conversation, open-handed exploration, and lasting faith.
“Please fix my kid.” In their work as Christian apologists, father and son Stuart and Cameron McAllister have heard many variations on this theme from concerned parents. It’s a sentiment many Christian parents can relate to-a deep and fearful sense of their own inadequacy to raise their children in the faith amid a seductive culture that’s often hostile to Christianity. In Faith that Lasts, the McAllisters reflect on their own experiences of coming to Christian faith-Stuart from a life of crime on the streets of Glasgow, and Cameron in the context of a loving Christian home. Together they outline three dangerous myths that we all too easily buy into: that fear can protect our children, that information can save them, and that their spiritual education belongs to the experts. They reconsider each myth in the light of the Christian faith and their own experiences. When our confidence is rooted in the good news of Jesus, our homes can be places of honest conversation, open-handed exploration, and lasting faith.

Representing the church, higher education, journalism, and the nonprofit sector, these world-class scholars and practitioners cast a vision for intellectuals who promote human flourishing.
Evangelical Christians are active across all spheres of intellectual and public life today. But a disconnect remains: the work they produce too often fails to inform their broader communities. Public Intellectuals and the Common Good draws together world-class scholars and practitioners to cast a vision for intellectuals who promote human flourishing. Servant Of The Lord And His Servant People
$28.99It is often recognized that the title “servant” is applied to key figures throughout the Bible, culminating in Jesus Christ.
In this New Studies in Biblical Theology volume Matthew Harmon carefully traces this theme from Genesis to Revelation with the intention of seeing how earlier servants point forward to the ultimate Servant. While this servant theme certainly is significant in its own right throughout redemptive history, it also plays a supporting role, enhancing and enriching other themes such as son, prophet, and king. Harmon shows how the title “servant” not only gives us a clearer understanding of Jesus Christ but also has profound implications for our lives as Christians. When we grasp what it means to be servants of Christ, our love for him and our obedience to him deepen. Understanding that the ultimate Servant Jesus Christ indwells his people to empower them to serve others in love has the potential to transform how we interact with fellow believers and the world around us. Addressing key issues in biblical theology, the works comprising New Studies in Biblical Theology are creative attempts to help Christians better understand their Bibles. The NSBT series is edited by D. A. Carson, aiming to simultaneously instruct and to edify, to interact with current scholarship and to point the way ahead.

Commentarie On Job Hosea Joel And Amos
$74.99In this ACT volume, Thomas Scheck provides a new translation of Julian of Eclanum’s commentaries on Job, Hosea, Joel, and Amos. Gain insight into how early Christians read texts such as God’s speech to Job, Hosea’s symbolic representation of God’s unending love for a faithless Israel, Joel’s anticipation of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and Amos’s call for social justice.
“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind . . . ” Julian of Eclanum (c. 386-455) was the bishop of Eclanum, located in modern-day Italy. In this volume in IVP’s Ancient Christian Texts series, Thomas Scheck provides a new translation of Julian’s commentaries on the biblical books of Job and those of three Minor Prophets: Hosea, Joel, and Amos. Here, readers will gain insight into how early Christians read texts such as God’s speech to Job, Hosea’s symbolic representation of God’s unending love for a faithless Israel, Joel’s anticipation of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and Amos’s call for social justice. While Julian was a well-known leader among the Pelagians, whose theology was famously opposed by Augustine of Hippo and ultimately determined to be outside the bounds of the church’s orthodoxy, the Pelagian movement was a significant element within the early church. And although Julian’s Pelagianism does not fundamentally affect the commentaries presented in this volume, Christians can gain insight into the truths of Scripture by reading the text alongside others, even when-or perhaps especially when-we might disagree with other aspects of their beliefs.

How can we trust God in the dark? Framed around the nighttime prayer of Compline, Tish Harrison Warren, author of Liturgy of the Ordinary, explores themes of human vulnerability, suffering, and God’s seeming absence. When she navigated a time of doubt and loss, the prayer was grounding for her. She writes: “It was this practice that gave me words for my anxiety and grief and allowed me to reencounter doctrines of the church-the church’s claims about reality-not as rational, tidy little antidotes for pain but as a light in darkness, as good news.” Where do we find comfort when we lie awake worrying or weeping in the night? Sin And Grace
$38.99Tony Lane surveys a wide range of doctrines relating to our experience of God’s gracious salvation. He begins with our need as sinful and fallen people, moves on to consider what is involved in becoming a Christian – majoring on justification (being put right with God) – and concludes with sanctification (living the Christian life). As well as expounding various aspects of these doctrines, Lane introduces their historical roots in classical expositions. Lane warns that these doctrines are in danger of being lost by significant sectors of evangelicalism, and he explains them clearly. He encourages readers to hold firmly to an evangelical soteriology, having a greater understanding of it and a stronger conviction of its truth, with experience of its application to Christian discipleship.

When You Dont Like Your Story
$18.99Best-selling author, cofounder of Girlfriends in God, and writer for Proverbs 31 Ministries Sharon Jaynes reveals the secret to living a better story: understanding that the worst parts of our past are the very things God uses most.
Many people don’t like the story God is writing in their lives. The mistakes, failures, tragedies, and circumstances outside of our control linger in our minds and hold us back. How do we come to grips with the pieces of our stories that we wish weren’t there? How do we silence the pain of what has been done to us and the shame of what we’ve allowed to be done through us?
In When You Don’t Like Your Story, Bible teacher Sharon Jaynes shows us how God untangles our most painful emotions with the fingers of grace, putting his redemption on display. In the hardest parts of our narratives, we get to see God’s greatest work – and this changes the ending of our stories. As we overcome shame, offer forgiveness, and use our stories to help others, we find freedom from the past and learn to live in the restoration of the present.

Message Of Galatians (Revised)
$27.99To enclaves of young converts in the mountains of Asia Minor, Paul wrote what is perhaps the oldest document in the New Testament–the letter to the Galatians.
Paul’s readers were struggling with numerous issues: How were men and women to be put right with God? Among a variety of religious authorities espousing different teachings, how were they to know who was right? How could Christians in the midst of a pagan culture live lives truly pleasing to God? Only one way, answered Paul: through Jesus Christ. In this volume, John Stott helps us understand the message of Galatians and how it holds true in the face of current challenges to our faith. Guiding readers passage by passage through Galatians, he provides helpful background, highlights key themes, and offers applications for Christians today. This revised edition of a classic Bible Speaks Today volume features a new interior design, updated Scripture quotations, and light updates throughout.

Women Who Risk
$19.99For the first time ever Tom Doyle, popular author and pastor to the unreached, is joined by his wife and ministry partner, JoAnn, to explore the incredible work of God in the hearts and lives of women in the Muslim world.
Despite enormous risks to themselves and their families, former Muslim women are now influencing their husbands and their children and bringing others to faith in Jesus Christ. No matter where they live, these women are the God-ordained spiritual gatekeepers of their families.
Tom and JoAnn Doyle have worked for twenty-five years in the Middle East and are master storytellers of the miraculous works of God happening in the Muslim world. With a clear call to action, they “sound the alarm” to the body of Christ, using inspirational stories straight out of the underground church-stories you don’t get on the news.
The level of oppression that women face under Islam is unfathomable to many in non-Muslim nations. Life is often a string of abuses and near-enslavement under cultural norms that are anything but “normal” to the Western mind-set.
The Doyles believe that women are a major reason why more Muslims than ever before are coming to faith in Christ. Over the years they have discovered that once God sets a Muslim woman free, she becomes an unstoppable force for God. Women Who Risk takes readers into the intimacy of Muslim homes in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, and other hot spots to see the drama of Christ at work.
The stories of these women are both breathtaking and heart-rending. Living on the edge, these women spread the gospel without fear, and the victory of the gospel is thrilling for all to see. They are the new heroes of the Middle East.

Moral Man And Immoral Society

One of the theological classics of the twentieth century, Niebuhr’s Moral Man and Immoral Society argues that using moral persuasion and shaming to affect the behavior of such collectives as corporations and nation states is fruitless, as these groups will inevitably seek to promote only their self-interest. He calls for a realistic assessment of group behavior and enumerates how individual morality can mitigate social immorality.

King Of Kings Rebel Of Rebels
$14.95An Outskirts Press Title
If you’re a Christian, you know that Jesus took the sin of all mankind upon Himself, to offer redemption and everlasting life to those who believe in Him. But did you know that in His own time, the Jews expected the Messiah to be a military leader who would liberate them from Rome? Our current understanding of Jesus and His role was very different from that of His contemporaries and the first disciples. This accessible, compulsively readable book tells the story of Jesus’ life with different twists. You’ll be enthralled by Jesus’ teachings, appreciate the significance of His power to perform miracles, and dig deeper into the meaning of some of His best-known parables. You’ll see the connections between Jesus and the prophecies of the Old Testament. You’ll walk alongside His first disciples and become entangled in the plot that led to His arrest, trial, and death. But most of all, you’ll see that although Jesus was obedient to His father in heaven, he bucked convention in his life on Earth-from the Romans and the Sanhedrin to everyday Jews and sometimes even His close friends, Jesus was perceived as a rebel who broke new ground in faith and action. Whether you are new to your faith journey or revisiting a well-loved road, this compelling guide to Jesus’ life and times is the extra insight you need to spark your soul.

Worst Of Sinners
$22.95Was the apostle Paul using hyperbole in calling himself the “worst of sinners” when writing to Timothy just before his death? What does Paul tell us today about about free will, repentance, grace, election, and forgiveness?
How does God take away our hearts of stone and remove the veils from our eyes so that we can see the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ? Is there truly anyone beyond the reach of God’s amazing love? Is there anyone that God allows us to refuse to forgive? Can one who has turned his or her back on Jesus be brought back to salvation?
Exploring these questions and more, The Worst of Sinners presents a retelling of the story of Saul and his conversion outside the walls of Damascus. The tale askes us this critical question; Can we follow the royal law found in Scripture, “love your neighbor as yourself” when your own heart is filled with anger, guilt and shame? Let’s follow Saul, and his companions at the house on Straight Street during these three dramatic days that altered the course of all human history.

Whatever Became Of Grace
$17.43Have you noticed a decline of grace in Christianity, seeing corporate worship more as a stage upon which sinners are shamed for their deeds? Rev. John Pennington has taken notice of this alarming trend and takes the opportunity in these pages to reintroduce God’s disciples to the revolutionary concept of grace, freely given by God the Father.
Despite the free gift of grace through Jesus Christ, many churches and even some preachers have unwittingly convinced their congregations that they must live a certain way; they must serve God in exactly the right way to earn his love and forgiveness. Through various stories and examples, Pennington shows how grace is active in our world-we just need to open our eyes to recognize and accept it. Pennington says, “How can we change that connotation of preaching after people grew up hearing negative stuff? I think the clue can be found in the gospel according to Matthew where the Sermon on the Mount told us how Jesus preached…Jesus didn’t come to fuss at people. He came to bless them, and only when preachers follow his example are they preaching the gospel.”.
Throughout Whatever Became of Grace?, Pennington relates his own experiences as well as stories from around the world to help preachers share the gift of God’s grace with their congregations. Pastors will find many stories and illustrations for preaching. Readers will be inspired to share God’s grace with others.

Gotta Minute : 60-Second Stories That Speak Of Life And Faith
$24.93Known for his famous sixty-second stories about faith and God’s love, Gary Carver compiles some of his favorite one-minute sermons into this book to teach those who need to understand the love of God the most. “God has given to me the gift to see stories in the everyday lives of people, and the love of telling these stories, that people just like you may see spiritual truth.” In this world of varying beliefs and arguments, Carver wants to remind Christians of what it truly means to follow God and to understand what Jesus’ sacrifice means for each of us.
Although his messages are short, they are deep and full of love, showing that we all have a bit of God in us. Throughout his pastoral career, Carver encountered a slew of unique people, preachers and laypersons alike-each with their own unique depiction of our Heavenly Father. Through each of his stories, Carver details exactly what God wants from us as his disciples, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, social class, political party or religion- the mandate to love your neighbors, no matter what.
Carver shares powerful stories that detail the sacrifice that humans are willing to give such as with his story of Johnny. When Johnny was asked to donate blood to his sister, he hesitated before agreeing to the procedure. In the middle of it, “Johnny’s little voice broke the silence. ‘Say, Doc, when do I die?’ It was only then that the doctor realized that little Johnny actually thought that in giving his blood to his sister, he was giving up his life.”
Suitable for sermon illustrations and including appropriate scripture references, Carver’s one-minute messages include:
– Fall Down, Get Up (1 John 1:5-10)
– Brought Father Lunch (1 Corinthians 12:1-27)
– Procrastinator’s Club (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11)
– Christ in My Son (Romans 9:28-30)Add to cartin stock within 3-5 days of online purchase

$21.18Within the Psalms, there is a collection of fifteen ancient songs, known as the “Songs of Ascent.” Each Psalm offers advice to those who wish to grow spiritually and draw themselves closer to God, oftentimes posing challenges and difficult questions for the pilgrims on their way.
The Pilgrim Road is a great metaphor for the spiritual life, a journey many others have travelled before us, offering their wisdom to those who are beginning their own spiritual adventure. William Carter offers his guidance, in the hope that your soul will be deepened with each encounter. Some lessons will be uncomfortable to read, while others offer assurance to that which you already know.
Upon reading through The Pilgrim Road, Carter asks that the reader simply shares that which they have learned, encouraging Christians to never walk this spiritual path alone. As a pastor, lay person, beginner or veteran Christian, this resource will help to draw you and others closer to God, illustrating how best to let Him work through us.

Imagine Heaven : Near Death Experiences Gods Promises And The Exhilarating (Repr
$49.98It’s obvious from the bookshelves and the big screen that heaven is on everyone’s mind. All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Bestselling author John Burke is no exception. For decades, he has been studying accounts of people who have had near-death experiences (NDEs). While not every detail of individual NDEs correlate with Scripture, Burke shows how the common experiences shared by thousands of survivors clearly point to the God of the Bible and the exhilarating picture of heaven he promises.
Imagine Heaven is an inspirational journey through the Bible’s picture of heaven, colored in with the real-life stories of heaven’s wonders. Burke compares gripping stories of NDEs to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will it look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets? This book will propel readers into an experience that will forever change their view of the life to come and the way they live life today. It also tackles the tough questions of heavenly reward and hellish NDEs. Anyone interested in NDEs or longing to imagine heaven more clearly will enjoy this fascinating and hope-filled book.

These essays, drawn from the 2018 and 2019 Middle East Consultations hosted by the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary’s Institute of Middle East Studies, engage the need for a carefully developed theological understanding of Islam, its origins and its sacred text. Weaving together the work of christian scholars of Islam, the Bible, theology and missiology, along with the insights of ministry practitioners, this book combines scholarly exploration with pertinent ministry practice, offering a rich framework for the church to continue its conversation about its engagement with Muslim communities and its proclamation of Christ worldwide.

Who Did You Say That I Am
$17.99In John 8:32 Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Then why, do I have doubts about my salvation? What is truth? What does free mean? How can I know for sure that I have salvation? One cannot be free without salvation!
No wonder that many have doubts about salvation. Jesus despised the religious traditions of mankind. He called those who were chained with religion’s traditions, hypocrites. He quoted Isaiah’s prophecy in Matt 15:9, “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” In Vain? With no purpose? Jesus was saying, you worship in folly. He was saying to the religious leaders with their man-made rules and to their followers, you shall in no case enter into the “Kingdom of Heaven”.
What is your litmus test to obtain salvation? Have you wondered about the rules and laws that you follow? What do the leaders of your religion demand of you? This book is filled with answers and with freedom. Not from my mere writings, but with clarity from the Holy Spirit emblazoned in the Holy Bible.
The litmus test as a boy growing up in a church was if you did not smoke, drink, cuss, dance, be with girls, play with cards, gamble, play pool, go to bars, break any of the 10 commandments, miss church service; you might go to heaven. I think, I pretty much flunked. Non the less, that was preached from the pulpit.
You will see gratitude for dedicated people who have unbelievable IQ’s in science, but you will find that even some truly great intellects fail to see a need for God. The Living God relationship is needed by every living human which does include all of the Intellects and those of us with less evolution.
Included are a few of the personal happenings of my life that are clearly Spiritual. This book reveals only a few of God’s actual involvements in spite of my fleeting fellowship with Him. The mathematical probability of each is prodigious.
Why do people say that “God loves us”? If you read carefully, the answer is clear. The definition of grace will be understandable. Faith is explored. Is faith really necessary? How does one know if they have faith?
Do you think you are saved and yet you still sin, occasionally? For some us, maybe more than occasionally. If you do, comfort may be near.
But most importantly, we are going to die. What, then? The book sometimes may have, some troubling details. Our soul will meet up with our new body and this information is more than sp

7 Words : Listening To Christ From The Cross
$18.99Examine the last seven words of Christ on the cross this Lent.
While many of us naturally wish to avoid the reality of the cross, it’s from the cross that Jesus speaks and shows his deepest love for us. It’s from the cross that Jesus’ full humanity draws us closest to him. It’s from the cross, as Jesus breathes his last breath and speaks his last words, that his deep trust in the Father and his divine glory are revealed. Those who listen to Jesus’ last words from the cross will discover what he most wants them (the world) to hear and will experience an intimate and divine awe only available to those who are willing to draw near his cross.
In Seven Words, Susan Robb looks at the seven last words of Christ on the cross through a lens that finds life and hope in his final sayings, while exploring each from a biblical and historical perspective. The book brings a hopeful and contemplative take on the cross during the weeks of Lent.
