Christian Peace Experiment
$53.00
This book examines part of the development of the Bruderhof community, which emerged in Germany in 1920. Community members sought to model their life on the New Testament. This included sharing goods. The community became part of the Hutterite movement, with its origins in sixteenth-century Anabaptism. After the rise to power of the Nazi regime, the Bruderhof became a target and the community was forcibly dissolved. Members who escaped from Germany and travelled to England were welcomed as refugees from persecution and a community was established in the Cotswolds. In the period 1933 to 1942, when the Bruderhof’s witness was advancing in Britain, its members were in touch with many individuals and movements. This book covers the Bruderhof’s connections with (among others) the Fellowship of Reconciliation, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the Peace Pledge Union, the social work of Muriel and Doris Lester in East London, Jewish refugee groups, and artistic pioneers like Eric Gill. As significant numbers of British people joined the Bruderhof, its farming, publishing and arts and crafts activities extended considerably. But with the outbreak of the Second World War, German members came to be regarded with suspicion and British members became unpopular locally because they were pacifists. Although the Bruderhof was defended in Parliament, notably by Lady Astor, it seemed that German members would be interned as enemy aliens. The consequence was that by 1942 over 300 community members had left England. With Mennonite assistance, they began to forge a new life in South America. This book traces a remarkable Christian peace experiment being undertaken in a time of great political upheaval.

Kingdom Disciples : Heavens Representatives On Earth
$16.00Add to cartThe missing key to Christianity in America
There is a missing key in Christianity today. It is a critical key, and its absence has led to weak believers, disintegrating families, ineffective churches, and a decaying culture. Without the full use of this key, we lack the tools needed to fully live as heaven’s representatives on earth.
That missing key is discipleship. In Kingdom Disciples, Tony Evans outlines a simple, actionable definition of discipleship to help the church fulfill its calling. Readers will learn:
*What a disciple essentially is
*What a disciple cares about
*How to be a disciple and make disciples
*What discipleship looks like in community
*What the impact of discipleship on the world should beKingdom disciples are short supply, and the results are legions of powerless Christians attending powerless churches, resulting in a powerless presence in the world. The power, authority, abundance, victory, and impact God has promised will only come about when we understand and align ourselves with His definition of discipleship.
It is the goal of this book Kingdom Disciples to call believers and churches back to our primary, divinely ordained responsibility to be disciples and make disciples. Only when we take seriously this assignment will the world see heaven at work on earth. Will you accept the assignment?
Useful for base material in a course on discipleship.

Your Comeback : Your Past Doesnt Have To Determine Your Future
$16.99Add to cartMoses Was a Murderer…
Rabab was a harlot….
Jacob lied…
Jonah rebelled…
Esther was a diva. These and other Bible heroes were far from perfect. They failed, they sinned, they deceived…and yet each of them had a dramatic comeback and were used of God beyond their richest imagination. The Bible isn’t the only source of “comeback” stories. Life is full of such dramatic turnarounds. Whether it’s a sports team coming from behind to win an upset or a late blooming student who wins the scholarship, or….your life story, God delights in arranging for comebacks.
Like the Biblical and contemporary examples told in The Comeback, your future can include an amazing comeback story. Popular pastor and Bible teacher, Dr. Tony Evans offers hope by pointing you to the good news that God loves to use less than perfect people. If you’re less than perfect, you qualify!
“It is definitely not too late for you. God has a purpose, a destiny, and a goal for your life. Don’t go backward on Him now. You’ve come too far. You can’t change your past regardless of how much you may want to. But your past does not have to determine your future.” Dr. Tony Evans
