His Word Is Now
$15.99Add to cart“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
We feed on the Word of God daily. Like manna in the desert, His Word is not to be canned, dried, or preserved; it is good for today. Jesus is like that, too. Past experience cannot be preserved. His mercies are new every day. It is the “now” Jesus. When He said, “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you” (John 16:23), that was to last until He returned. When He said, “In my name…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (John 16:17-18), that too was to last until He returned.
From the inspirational writings of E. W. Kenyon and Don Gossett comes a book that dares the reader to stand on the daily power and truth of God’s Word in order to reap God’s promises for deliverance, healing, and success in life.
God’s Word is as fresh as if it was uttered this morning. His Word Is Now. It has the power to save now. It has the power to heal now.

Rich Christians In An Age Of Hunger
$19.99Add to cartDo you want to make a true difference in the world? Dr. Ron Sider does. He has, since before he first published Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger in 1978. Despite a dramatic reduction in world hunger since then, 34,000 children still die daily of starvation and preventable disease, and 1.3 billion people, worldwide, remain in abject poverty. So, the professor of theology went back to re-examine the issues by twenty-first century standards. Finding that Conservatives blame morally reprehensible individual choices, and Liberals blame constrictive social and economic policy, Dr. Sider finds himself agreeing with both sides. In this new look at an age-old problem, he offers not only a detailed explanation of the causes, but also a comprehensive series of practical solutions, in the hopes that Christians like him will choose to make a difference.

To Whom Does Christianity Belong
$34.00Add to cartTo Whom Does Christianity Belong? is a question that is asked, at least implicitly, throughout the world today. The issues that surround this question open up a host of others: Is Christianity a primitive religion that has little to say to twenty-first-century people? Is it a Western religion that has been exported through colonialism? Is it a religion poised to increase in size? Should it? Does Christianity lead to economic prosperity? Does it foster violence or peace? Does it liberate or restrict women? Who gets to claim Christianity as their own?
In this exciting new volume, an anchor to the Understanding World Christianity series, Dyron B. Daughrity helps readers map out the major changes that have taken place in recent years in the world’s largest religion. By comparing trends, analyzing global Christian movements, and tracing the impact of Pentecostalism, interreligious dialogue, global missions, birth rates, and migratory trends, Daughrity sketches a picture of a changing religion and gives the tools needed to understand it. From discussions of sexuality and afterlife to contemporary Christian music and secularization, this book provides a global perspective on what is happening within Christianity today.

Mediation Of The Spirit
$32.99Add to cartA noteworthy theology of the Holy Spirit that challenges current scholarship in the field
How might a distinctively Pentecostal and charismatic theological perspective inform and enrich the discourse of academic practical theology? In order to address that question, Mark Cartledge in this book probes the relationship between Scripture, experience, and the Holy Spirit by means of the concept of mediation – that is, how the divine is experienced in the world.
An expert in both Pentecostal theology and practical theology, Cartledge offers a unique intervention into practical theology through the lens of the Holy Spirit. He presents an original reading of Pentecost and the Spirit-reception texts in the book of Acts and engages with current literature in both Pentecostal studies and practical theology. Further, Cartledge places his whole discussion within a broader Protestant theological framework, and he interrogates an existing congregational study to provide a real- life example of theological intervention.

In this non-technical collection of short essays, beginning and intermediate students are given a chance to see firsthand what makes Paul a distinctive thinker in relation to his Jewish contemporaries. Following the narrative progression of Romans, each chapter pairs a major unit of the letter with one or more thematically related Jewish text, introduces and explores the theological nuances of the comparative text, and shows how these ideas illuminate our understanding of the book of Romans.

Slow To Judge
$19.99Add to cartGod invites us to judge and to help correct wrongs. Sometimes, however, rather than doing the hard work demanded in order to judge justly, we pre-judge a person based on our own biases and superficial experiences. We stifle dialog before the conversation even begins. If all we know is our own faith, and we never put it side-by-side with what others believe, our spiritual growth and commitments can be easily stunted. By truly listening and learning from those with different beliefs, we can broaden and deepen our kingdom commitments.
It is possible to stand up for Jesus, to articulate our faith clearly as witnesses, and to defend our faith effectively, while at the same time not being perceived as judgmental. Christians need to be faithful witnesses to God who are willing to listen to people with drastically different stories. In those exchanges, when we suspend judgment and truly listen, we will find truth and beauty and goodness in some of the most unexpected places. We will also find that, if we truly listen, we may be given a chance to speak.Features include:
Help for interfaith and intercultural dialog
Thought-provoking questions for spiritual conversation or reflection -

By Canoe And Dog Train Updated Edition
$15.99Add to cartTo be a missionary to Canadian Indians in the late 1800s meant you had to be brave and relentless. It meant nearly freezing when sleeping outside in 50-below-zero weather. But it also meant you were privileged to present the good news of the true Great Spirit to those who were often misunderstood and mistreated. The adventures in this book are rivaled only by the incredible conversions of those who saw the Creator in nature and then worshipped Him too. You will be challenged and inspired by the results of one man who went where the Lord led, with little regard for himself.

For instance, the Hybrid car has become the answer to Detroit’s environmental and oil crisis issues. Finding the synergy between two technologies, gas and electric has created a new day for the auto industry. Likewise, Spent Matchesexplores how the church can find synergy between two seemingly competing thoughts: an invitation to come and a command to go. The Hybrid metaphor brings energy to the church’s mission and an explanation to the age-old argument of Missional versus Attractional methods.

*Innovative ideas for growing the church
*Methods to reach those who may never have attended church
*Scripture passages that touch on the subject of church growth -

Few topics are more contested today than gender identity. In the fog of the culture war, complex issues like gender dysphoria are reduced to slogans and sound bites. And while the war rages over language, institutions and political allegiances, transgender individuals are the ones who end up being the casualties. Mark Yarhouse, an expert in sexual identity and therapy, challenges the church to rise above the political hostilities and listen to people’s stories. In Understanding Gender Dysphoria, Yarhouse offers a Christian perspective on transgender issues that eschews simplistic answers and appreciates the psychological and theological complexity. The result is a book that engages the latest research while remaining pastorally sensitive to the experiences of each person. In the midst of a tense political climate, Yarhouse calls Christians to come alongside those on the margins and stand with them as they resolve their questions and concerns about gender identity. Understanding Gender Dysphoria is the book we need to navigate these stormy cultural waters. -

The gospel of Jesus has not always been good news for Native Americans. The history of North America is marred by atrocities committed against Native peoples. Indigenous cultures were erased in the name of Christianity. As a result, to this day few Native Americans are followers of Jesus. However, despite the far-reaching effects of colonialism, some Natives have forged culturally authentic ways to follow the way of Jesus. In his final work, Richard Twiss provides a contextualized Indigenous expression of the Christian faith among the Native communities of North America. He surveys the painful, complicated history of Christian missions among Indigenous peoples and chronicles more hopeful visions of culturally contextual Native Christian faith. For Twiss, contextualization is not merely a formula or evangelistic strategy, but rather a relational process of theological and cultural reflection within a local community. Native leaders reframe the gospel narrative in light of post-colonization, reincorporating traditional practices and rituals while critiquing and correcting the assumptions of American Christian mythologies. Twiss gives voice to the stories of Native followers of Jesus, with perspectives on theology and spirituality and concrete models for intercultural ministry. Future generations of Native followers of Jesus, and those working crossculturally with them, will be indebted to this work. -

Breaking Up With Perfect
$15.99Add to cartAn inspiring and thought-provoking guide to help you abandon the pursuit of perfection and become comfortable and more confident in your own skin.
Every woman has felt the pressure to be perfect. Whether you’re a “good girl” who constantly strives to put on a perfect front or the “never good enough girl” who finally decides that if she can’t be perfect, she might as well be good at being bad, the impossible quest for perfection inevitably results in stress that impacts everything you do.
Because what you believe determines how you think and feel, Carroll identifies common misunderstandings about others, ourselves, and God and counters these misconceptions with affirming biblical truths that redefine the source of your worth and help you gain confidence and new ways to think about yourself. In doing so, she helps you rework your thought patterns so that misconceptions like “God expects me to live up to His standards perfectly” can be replaced with truths like “God understands our imperfections and loves us unconditionally.”
In this relatable book, Amy shares biblical teachings, personal anecdotes, and transformation exercises that are easy to apply to your daily life. Breaking Up with Perfection will give you the tools you need to break the perpetual cycle of stress that chasing perfection induces, so you can live a life filled with happiness, success, and spiritual fulfillment.

God Healed Me
$13.00Add to cartMy journey started in 2002, I was a fit and healthy person and started to get discomfort in my right shoulder. After many tests the doctors discovered that I had a large tumour in my shoulder. I was shocked, devastated and very fearful. Was I going to live or was I going to die? I underwent surgery and radiation therapy but the treatments were unsuccessful.
I cried out to God for help and He heard the cry of my heart. He took me on an amazing journey where I learned so much about faith and trusting in His word. He is a God who is faithful to all His promises. We need to believe Him and not let go, even if our circumstances look grim.
I was totally healed in January 2007, it was a miracle. God took me from sickness to health and my story will encourage you to never give up and put your trust in Him. God is so faithful!
My name is Vikki O’Neill and I live in Perth Western Australia. I am an ordinary person who went on an extraordinary journey with God. I am blessed to be happy and healthy today because God miraculously healed me.

Divine Sex : A Compelling Vision For Christian Relationships In A Hypersexu (Rep
$25.00Add to cartThe digital revolution has ushered in a series of sexual revolutions, all contributing to a perfect storm for modern relationships. Online dating, social media, internet pornography, and the phenomenon of the smartphone generation have created an avalanche of change with far-reaching consequences for sexuality today. The church has struggled to address this new moral ecology because it has focused on clarity of belief rather than quality of formation. The real challenge for spiritual formation lies in addressing the underlying moral intuitions we carry subconsciously, which are shaped by the convictions of our age.
In this book, a fresh new voice offers a persuasive Christian vision of sex and relationships, calling young adults to faithful discipleship in a hypersexualized world. Drawing from his pastoral experience with young people and from cutting-edge research across multiple disciplines, Jonathan Grant helps Christian leaders understand the cultural forces that make the church’s teaching on sex and relationships ineffective in the lives of today’s young adults. He also sets forth pastoral strategies for addressing the underlying fault lines in modern sexuality.

Junk Food Christianity
$9.95Add to cartThe past fifty years have seen a steady decline of biblical mores in the United States and much of Western culture. As if in response, the frequency and magnitude of disasters and suffering, both natural and manmade, seems to be exploding everywhere. What might this mean for you and me, America, and humankind?
Author Jay Anthony has witnessed much of the decline firsthand. In Junk Food Christianity: The Decline of the USA, the End Times, and Biblical Prophecy, he surveys numerous and often subtle ways Americans, even within many Christian churches, have strayed ever further from following God’s Word as their moral standard. As the god of feelings is increasingly celebrated and worshipped at many a pulpit and altar, Junk Food Christianity draws our attention to how God historically dealt with humankind-in particular with the chosen people, when they, too, strayed from God’s Word. Discover how numerous gods have infiltrated our lives. Learn how God reacted when previous generations evicted him from their lives. What can we learn from the signs of our times? Our loving God forewarns us of an impending fate for those who choose to ignore the harbingers accompanying the decline of mores.
Are we headed for the end times – of our nation, of the World? Is there any hope? Junk Food Christianity: The Decline of the US, the End Times, and Biblical Prophecy holds the key to a way out of our predicament and to saving ourselves, our nation, and perhaps life on this planet!

This is an attempt to fill in details of an ancient story, so that it may be possible for the reader to visualize the life and development of one of our biblical heroes. Many times we think that perhaps God will just send us a “burning bush” experience and we will be ready to charge off into history doing great things for God. Yes, Moses had a burning bush experience and a spoken direction from God. And yes, he then led 2 million people out of slavery into freedom. But Moses was eighty years in training. It was not until he crossed the Red Sea that Moses began to live through a period of time that would afford his maximum learning experiences.

Incognito : Lost And Found At Harvard Divinity School
$19.99Add to cartFilled with humor, insight, and faith, this true story tells how one woman overcame challenges, stereotypes, and personal struggles at Harvard Divinity School and emerged an ordained minister.
As a bright young girl from Ohio, Andrea Raynor always wanted to be a doctor. Instead, she landed- almost by accident-at Harvard Divinity School, which, she quickly discovered, was no typical seminary. When she attended, in the 1980s, HDS was a place overflowing with creative expression and freedom of thought. Her classmates included two men who were undergoing sex changes and a woman who fancied herself a geisha. There was a lively gay and lesbian caucus, marches on Washington, civil disobedience, and more sexual intrigue than could be found in a stereotypical college fraternity house.
Providing a bird’s-eye view of life within the hallowed halls (and beneath the crimson robes), Incognito is a humorous and poignant glimpse inside one of the nation’s most revered institutions. It begins with the long drive from Ohio to Cambridge and ends at the bedside of a dying young woman. But the real story is about the challenges, surprises, and ultimately life-changing experiences Andrea faced on the road to understanding God’s call for her life. From navigating relationships to exploring whether a pretty girl can truly wear a collar, Incognito tackles our assumptions about spirituality, the church, morality, and identity, and affirms that God often works in ways-and in people-we least expect.

6 Months To Live
$10.00Add to cart“I wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else’s. If I could choose not to have cancer, and continue my life as it was, I wouldn’t do it.” – Matt Gauger. You’re twenty-two, in love, and just starting a career. The last thing you’re worried about is the purpose of life (whatever that means) and when you’re going to die. If you think about such things, you certainly don’t talk about them. With his sociable personality and love of music and basketball, Matt had plenty of friends but didn’t really stand out from the crowd. Then, a month before his wedding, he was diagnosed with cancer. Six months later he was dead. But Six Months to Live isn’t really about dying. It’s the story of how Matt and his family and friends struggled to accept his suffering, and how it changed each of them. It’s about facing (rather than avoiding) life’s most important questions, and – instead of going through the motions – living life to the full.

Atheist Who Didnt Exist
$14.99Add to cartIn the last decade, atheism has leapt from obscurity to the front pages: producing best-selling books, making movies, and plastering adverts on the side of buses. There’s an energy and a confidence to contemporary atheism: many people now assume that a godless skepticism is the default position, indeed the only position for anybody wishing to appear educated, contemporary and urbane. Atheism is hip, religion is boring. Yet when one pokes at popular atheism, many of the arguments used to prop it up quickly unravel. The Atheist Who Didn’t Exist is designed to expose some of the loose threads on the cardigan of atheism, tug a little, and see what happens. Blending humour with serious thought, Andy Bannister helps the reader question everything, assume nothing and, above all, recognise lazy skepticism and bad arguments. Be an atheist by all means: but do be a thought-through one.

Awesome Journey : Lifes Pilgrimage
$14.99Add to cartDrawing on a lifetime of Christian pilgrimage, David Adam reflects on biblical encounters with the divine and offers profound insights – on grief and glory, emptiness and fulfilment; repentance and forgiveness; loving and being loved – that will transform the way we live, and the way we relate to God, here and now. For example, God’s question to Adam, ‘Where are you?’ is relevant to us all; Abraham’s long journey of hearing and obeying (and learning the art of having no agenda) is ours too; Jacob’s great discovery – that heaven is found on earth and earth is raised to heaven – helps us become aware that we often already possess what we think we’re searching for; Moses’ desert experiences of grief and glory encourage us that we journey forward to the Promised Land, while Elijah’s powerlessness reminds us that God often calls us out of darkness and weakness, for we may need stillness to hear him. Written by a best-selling author – and distinguished spiritual director – with a proven track record. Inspires in us – through Bible passages, story, poetry and meditation – a sense of awe for the journey we are on and the courage to live life in abundance. The understanding that God is ‘as pervasive and perceptible as the atmosphere in which we are bathed’ (Teilhard de Chardin) comes through in all David’s writing, and his confidence and delight in the nearness of God is surely one of the reasons his books are so popular.

$18.99Add to cartIs an impostor robbing you of God’s love?
We’ve bought into the lie that we are worthy of God’s love only when our lives are going well. If our families are happy or our jobs are meaningful, life is a success. But when life begins to fall through the cracks and embarrassing sins threaten to reveal our less-than-perfect identity, we scramble to keep up a good front to present to the world-and to God. We hide until we can rearrange the mask of perfection. Sadly, it is then that we wonder why we lack intimate relationships and a passionate faith.
All this time God is calling us to take the mask off and come openly to Him. He longs for us to know in the depth of our beings that He loves us and accepts us as we are. When we are our true selves, we can finally claim our identity as God’s child-Abba’s child-and experience His pure pleasure in who we are. Brennan Manning encourages us to let go of the impostor lifestyle and freely accept our belovedness as a child of the heavenly Father. In Him there is life.

Why Didnt You Come Sooner
$16.99Add to cartWhy didn’t you come sooner? is an insightful and fascinating true life tale of 40 years of missionary service in the Philippines. Author Richard Varberg tells of his life through four decades adjusting to a new culture and climate, developing effective strategies for planting churches and equipping local pastors, while also maintaining his own relationship with Jesus Christ through many trials and triumphs.
Mr. Varberg sailed to the Philippines with his wife Elenor and their three-month old son, Paul, in 1958, twelve years after the U.S. ceded its sovereignty over the region. With their Iowa farm behind, the Varbergs raised five children overseas (three of which are still serving as missionaries in the Philippines).
Impacted by the title query posed by a father grieving over the possibility that his son died without Christ before the gospel reached their village, Mr. Varberg gained a new resolve early in his ministry and an unforgettable account on reaching the unreached. Masbate Baptist Bible College and more than one hundred churches founded through the Varbergs’ ministry continue today under Filipino leadership.

Letters From The Farm
$23.95Add to cartEssays extolling the power of love for everyone from church leaders to seekers
* High-profile social activist and best-selling author of multiple books and Bible studies
“Love is my grounding,” says Becca Stevens. “It provides the axioms that inform and
govern what I do. First is that love is the most powerful source for social change in the
world. Second is that love heals. I’m not called to change the world. I am called to love it.”“All spiritual paths can be walked more gracefully by avoiding the pitfalls of
disillusionment and not getting distracted by the bright lights of ego that have
led countless priests far afield. Following simple road signs like courage, humility,
forgiveness, compassion, and faithfulness that others have put at the crossroads for me
has made the work possible and left me grateful. I want to pass along through these
letters a tradition of a priesthood that is grounded in the idea that love heals and healing
is the central-most sacrament of the church.”For seminarians, priests, and pastors across denominational lines, plus readers of
Stevens’ earlier works and supporters of Thistle Farms and Magdalene projects. -

On The Path Of The Immortals
$19.95Add to cartFollowing the release of their international best-seller, Exo-Vaticana, Thomas Horn and Cris Putnam were inundated with requests from around the world to be interviewed on radio, television, and in print media. What they discovered sent shockwaves through Christianity concerning the Vaticans advanced telescope, which sits on top of Mt. Graham in Arizona (USA) where the Jesuits admit they are monitoring something approaching the earth. After the authors initial report was published in Exo-Vaticana, the popes top astronomer took to the airwaves and on the Vatican Observatory website to try and explain the role that he and other church astronomers are playing with regards to emerging ET Friendly theology, their association with the LUCIFER device at Mt. Graham, and their developing doctrines concerning extraterrestrial life and the impact it may have on planet Earths religions; Christianity in particular. Now, armed with fresh information from the native peoples (that failed before a federal appeals court to stop the construction of the Vaticans observatory on one of their four holiest mountains), the authors set out with cameras and field investigators to unearth their most astonishing discovery yet. The mountain is said to be a portal, a gateway to another dimension. And, as the Vatican knows and the authors uncovered, it is not the only one. In On the Path of the Immortals, internationally acclaimed, investigative authors Thomas Horn and Cris Putnam continue the greatest investigation of our time by exposing the facts kept hidden from the public by elitists and intellectuals who are planning mankinds assimilation under a coming savior, one whom the prophet Daniel foresaw as an alien god. ?

Miracle In The Middle
$18.99Add to cartFind strength in the struggle, passion to persist, wisdom when you’re weary, and joy for the journey. If you’ve ever been on a long trip with small children you’ve no doubt heard, “Are we there yet?”
Maybe you’ve even said those exact words or felt that same way as you have journeyed with God. Midway is where these feelings of frustration and impatience are most commonly felt. It’s also where our hidden doubts find their voice. Where most beginnings start with energy and expectation for all that is ahead, and endings bring the joy of completion as you arrive at your desired destination, the middle is very different. This midpoint can too quickly become a low point, as energy is lacking and enthusiasm wanes. Yet how well you handle the middle reveals what is in the middle of you. The disciples found-in the middle of a lake-a revelation of Jesus that they had never seen on the shore. In the middle is where new navigational skills are found. It’s also where some of the most significant lessons are learned. Join Charlotte Gambill in this compelling, story-driven message that shows through biblical teaching and life application how those who persist through the middle will find that miracles await them on the other side.
