Apatheia In The Christian Tradition
$37.00To many modern people, apatheia (being “”without suffering””/””without passion””) sounds like cold-heartedness and indifference to others, a condition to be avoided. However, in the classical world and for many in the historic Christian church it was a spiritual state to aspire to. What exactly is apatheia? What is its origin? How has it been used in spiritual writings throughout the centuries of Christian practice? And how may it help us today to articulate a Christian understanding of the soul’s spiritual well-being? The central aim of the book is twofold: to rediscover the meaning and function of the Greek term apatheia as it was understood and employed by the Stoics in their philosophical and religious writings, and to explore how the theologians of the church–Origen, Evagrius, John Cassian, Maximus, and Ignatius of Loyola–interpreted apatheia for their spiritual practice. Nguyen argues that the concept of apatheia in the Christian spiritual tradition connotes the state of “”spiritual peace”” or “”well-being”” of the human soul wherein excessive and negative emotions–such as lust, excessive desire for food and drink, anger, envy, resentment, self-love, and pride–are replaced by reasonable desires, love, and humility.

Sing Us A Song Of Joy
$51.00Out on the barren margins of Babylonian exile, the great biblical poet Jeremiah suggests that his captors are asking for a song of joy. Imagine that. Is it possible, he asks, to sing the Lord’s song in a foreign land? Christians today find themselves caught up in the massive sweep of secularizing culture. Do we have a joyful song to sing anymore? Do we know what our song has been throughout history? Could we possibly sing as a mighty choir, just perhaps igniting spiritual renewal for our world–and for each one of us as well? This book proposes the possibility of finding a new song for our time.

Forgiveness : Finding Peace Through Letting Go
$15.99If your enemies are starving, feed them some bread; if they are thirsty, give them water to drink. Proverbs 24:17 (CEB) There is nothing more crippling than holding on to anger. Anger, more than any other emotion, has the power to consume all aspects of our lives, distort our sense of purpose, and destroy our relationship with God. In the passionate and life-changing book Forgiveness: Finding Peace Though Letting Go, bestselling author Adam Hamilton brings the same insight that he applied in the bestseller “Why?” to the challenge of forgiveness. Hamilton argues that revelation comes when we realize that forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves rather than to someone else. He also contends that only when we learn to forgive others and ourselves can we truly receive forgiveness from God. “Adam Hamilton not only reminds us about the importance of reconnecting the broken pieces of our lives, but shows how the process of grace and forgiveness is possibly our most complete picture of God.” –Shane Stanford, author of Making Life Matter: Embracing the Joy in the Everyday “The heartbeat of the gospel is grace. With practical insight, Hamilton makes grace understandable–both for seeking and for granting forgiveness. I highly recommend this book.” –Melody Carlson, author of Healing Waters: A Bible Study on Forgiveness, Grace, and Second Chances “Adam Hamilton’s book offers clear guidance for believers struggling with the practical application of our biblical imperative to forgive. It is a must-read for both Christian counselors and every person who has something or someone to forgive.” –Jennifer Cisney Ellers, author of The First 48 Hours: Spiritual Caregivers as First Responders “Deeply rooted in the Bible’s testimony about God’s extravagant mercy, this fine little book explores the Christian call to practice both repentance and forgiveness in the image of God. Straightforward and practical, Hamilton vividly sketches the habits of the heart that discipleship requires in our daily relationships with spouses and intimate life partners, family members, friends and strangers.” –Patricia Beattie Jung, Professor of Christian Ethics, Saint Paul School of Theology

Heaven All Around Us
$49.00If living with a deep awareness of God in our lives is important, how do we do it without moving to a monastery? How do we discern and respond to God amidst the places, routines, and relationships of our everyday lives? In this book, we go in search of God’s presence in homes and neighborhoods, supermarkets and sporting arenas, workplaces and weekends. Along the way we look for practices that can lead us more deeply into the way of Jesus: activities like cooking and laundry, walking and sleeping, shopping and conversation with friends. Throughout, we want to better understand how to make God a central part of our lives, and to hear Jesus’ call to “”follow me”” more clearly in the world around us.

I Pledge Allegiance
$28.99What does it really mean for Christians to live as faithful kingdom citizens in today’s world?
Bitter partisan conflict. State-sanctioned torture. Economic injustice. Ethical corruption. Even a cursory glance over daily news headlines shows a stark contrast between the American political state and the kingdom of heaven. Where, then, does the Christian’s ultimate allegiance lie?
In I Pledge Allegiance David Crump issues a clarion call to Jesus’s twenty-first-century disciples, stirring them up to heed God’s word and live out their kingdom citizenship here on earth. Closely examining the ethical teachings of Jesus and his apostles in the New Testament and using real-world examples to illustrate the vital issues at stake, Crump challenges Christians to embrace the radical, counterintuitive, upside-down way of Jesus-a way of living and thinking that turns the world’s values on their head, smashes through stale political and cultural conventions, and welcomes God’s kingdom into the very heart of our shared society.

Becoming As God Intended
$23.93The purpose is to take concepts that are often spoken in intellectual and theoretical terms and cause them to be philosophically practical, which helps to be applied to Christian spirituality. As a result, Christian spirituality must be practical so that it can be lived and experienced, transcending the theoretical, making it more real. Otherwise, it is limited as beliefs to be believed and stuffed into the head.

True Jesus : The Highest Revelation Of God
$28.73TRUE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS COME!! THE CURRENT GLOBAL WARMING IS A GLOBAL WARNING INDEED!!!
“21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord (or Jesus, Jesus – that is to judge all men – John 5:22) shall ENTER into the Kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 and then will I profess into them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 and the rain descended, and the FLOODS came, and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock…” (Matt. 7:21-27). Life is a school and the greatest common sense EXAMINATION question that every living soul MUST answer is “Who is Jesus?” in connection with the true God and the true Holy Spirit (Prov. 30:4, John 5:39, Matt. 12:32). The correct answer earns promotion to the promised Everlasting Life (Titus 1:2) while the wrong answer attracts demotion to Everlasting Death. Everlasting Life simply means KNOWING the true Jesus and the true God (John 17:3) before doing His work. If our Lord Jesus should say on that day that He doesn’t know Pastor X and Follower F as in Matt. 7:23, it simply means that both Pastor X and Follower F never knew Him too, even though they claimed they knew Him. What a wasted life and a false confidence to be ashamed of on that day! Worse still is the fact that, then, there will be no more opportunity to repent (see Luke 13:24-30). Now is our LAST OPPORTUNITY to repent (see Luke 13:6-9) and to know who the true Jesus really is so as to ESCAPE the Greatest Judgment on earth and ENTER into the Everlasting Life of Everlasting Righteousness, Everlasting Peace with Unspeakable Everlasting Joy (see Matt. 25:23, Rom. 14:17-18).
What a man knows is under his control but what he doesn’t know is above him and will control him. The same heat that softens and refines the Gold (BELIEVER) is the same heat that hardens and destroys the Clay (UNBELIEVER). Strive to enter into the true kingdom of God because most people are only interested in their own kingdoms (Luke 13:24-30, Phil. 2:20-21). Refuse to be limited by their limitations. Get out of the prophesied Second Babylonian Captivity in (Rev. 18:2)! Get out of mind captivity!! Be unlimited for true freedom!!!

Dream Of You
$15.99With a strong teaching voice evoking comparisons to Christine Caine and Jennie Allen, speaker and leader Jo Saxton confronts women on the fractured pieces of their identities and points them to help and hope in Scripture and through recognition of self-worth.
Working from the core promise in Ephesians 1:11, Jo Saxton looks at the vision a woman has of herself at an early age–and how the world distorts, changes, breaks, and alters that dream. By taking personal stories from her own life, growing up the child of Nigerian immigrants in the UK, for a time in foster care and then, later, a newlywed immigrating to the US, Jo helps identify key scenarios where identities develop that are not true to God’s design. Chapters focus on themes of knowing one’s name, embracing the gifts each person has been given, addressing body issues, experiencing seasons of depression or grief, and letting go of perfectionism. Through thorough examination of Biblical heroes who also experienced broken identities, Jo invites readers to live their experience, yet grasp their purpose, understanding that they are seen by a loving God, known by Him, and He promises to redeem them.Add to cartIn stock (additional units can be purchased)

Your Untold Story
$19.95Popular author and HuffPost blogger – Good for use by individuals or groups Whether we realize it or not, how we respond to life’s opportunities and challenges, to other people, and to ourselves depends upon the stories we tell about ourselves. Too often, we tell distorted stories drawn from painful experiences or internalized from others’ critical voices. These fake stories diminish our dreams, damage our relationships, and fill us with fear and self-blame. Research shows that people yearn for personal experiences of the holy, and Jake Owensby begins by inviting readers to re-imagine Jesus as friend and lover. He then turns to encouraging readers to hear and tell how Jesus would express their story and the stories of others. Jesus’ story about us is our true story: the gospel, the story of the beloved. It helps us experience the richness of life, see the stranger as friend, and make a difference in the world.
Useful for both personal spiritual practice and group studies, Your Untold Story will help expand the soul by engaging imagination and deepening relationships among group members. It is a discipleship tool that will aid any individual or group of spiritually minded people. The missional church requires well-formed disciples; here is a resource to help in that process.

95 Prostheses
$52.00Five hundred years after Luther’s famous posting of his 95 Theses in 1517, the church again faces an important crossroads. Sunday worship attendance is shrinking at alarming rates. There are now more “”Elvis believers”” in the US than Episcopalians and almost limitless spiritual options exist for those who seek faith and trust in something, but are hesitant to commit to a particular path leading to truth. The word prosthesis, normally associated with surgery, is also an apt word to describe the church’s need to forge a theological identity that fits our current context. The church faces change and a transformed body, but not at the expense of the biblical richness and tradition that fueled the restlessness of the reformers. The essays gathered here, arranged around the seasons of the church year, address familiar challenges faced by all pastors and leaders in an era of transition, specifically in Christian formation and discipleship. Appropriate for group and personal reflection, 95 Prostheses employs humor and biblical accessibility with the skeptical outsider who may be considering Jesus and his church for the first time in mind.

Unveiling Pauls Women
$38.00Whether people realize it or not, the ideas in 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 have had a huge impact on the role of Christian women in the church through the centuries. These fifteen verses have shaped worship practices, church structures, church leadership, marriages, and even relationships between men and women in general. They have contributed to practices that have consistently placed women in a subordinate role to men, and have been used to justify the idea that a woman should not occupy a leadership or teaching position without being under the authority or “”covering”” of a man. It is strange, therefore, that academics and pastors alike continue to note how confusing and difficult it continues to be to make sense of these very verses. In this little book, Lucy Peppiatt not only highlights the problems associated with using this text to justify the subordination of women, but offers a clear and plausible re-reading of the text that paints the apostle Paul as a radical, visionary, church planter who championed women in all forms of leadership.

Apprentice : A Year At The Feet Of Jesus
$17.63If someone asked you to share with them what you believe about Jesus, could you do so with clarity and effectiveness? Jesus gave the church the command to go into all the world and make disciples. The word disciple speaks about becoming a follower of Jesus.
Here is what I have discovered; it is impossible to direct someone to a place you have never been.
This very discovery is the reason I have written this book. It is my desire to not just know about Jesus but to truly know Jesus, so that I can direct others to Him. In this year-long devotional book, you will have the honor of sitting at Jesus’ feet, along with the 12 disciples who have become apprentices of Jesus.
You will hear Jesus call to these men in His first days of ministry. You will walk with these men on the Galilean road of ministry. You will experience firsthand the teaching of Jesus and you will see the miracles performed by Jesus. You will feel the thrill of each new day at Jesus’ feet. You will do battle with the forces of the enemy as you follow Jesus through His earthly ministry. You will enter into the courtyard of the high priest and see Jesus in His agony. You will weep at the cross and shout at the empty tomb.
Above all, you will come to the end of the year with a new viewpoint of Jesus. If you want a devotional book that will lead you to know Jesus as did the early church, this book is for you.

Until He Comes
$19.99Spurgeon observed the Lord’s Supper every Sunday, unless illness prevented it. He often said that the more he obeyed Christ’s command, “This do in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19), the more precious his Savior and the more helpful and instructive the celebration became to him. He always intended to publish a collection of his reflections on the Lord’s Supper, some given in front of thousands at the Metropolitan Tabernacle and some in front of two or three gathered in his living room; and although they were not published before his death, they have become a treasured favorite among fans of Spurgeon. While centered on the Lord’s Supper, these twenty reflections range topically from comfort, to redemption, to Christ’s love.

When Is It Right To Die
$18.99More and more people who are terminally ill are choosing assisted suicide. When is it Right to Die? offers a different path with alternatives of hope, compassion, and death with real dignity. Joni Eareckson Tada knows what it means to wrestle with this issue and to wish for a painless solution. For the last 50 years she has been confined to a wheelchair and struggled against her own paralysis. And she sat by the bedside of her dying father, thinking, So much suffering, why not end it all quickly, painlessly?

What they say is surprising.
Whether you have a dying family member, facing moral and medical choices, or struggling with a chronic condition that feels overwhelming, this book will help you find practical encouragement and biblical advice to help you make difficult decisions.
This book is revised and updated to examine the current events, trending issues, and the rising acceptance of assisted suicide in this country.

Upside Down Kingdom (Anniversary)
$31.99Sharing, not hoarding. Service, not status. Community, not competition. Basins, not swords. Loyalty to God, not nation.
Jesus turned everything upside down. When we follow him, we can too. This book calls readers to imagine and embody the reign of God on earth as it is in heaven. Since its publication in 1978, the Upside-Down Kingdom has become the most trusted resource on radical Christian discipleship. In this completely updated anniversary edition, author Donald R. Kraybill asks: What does it mean to follow the Christ who traded victory and power for hanging out with the poor and forgiving his enemies? How did a man in first-century Palestine threaten the established order, and what does that mean for us today? What would happen if Christians replaced force with service, violence with love, and nationalism with allegiance to Jesus?
Jesus turned expectations upside-down. The kingdom of God is still full of surprises. Are you ready?

Unveiling Pauls Women
$18.00Whether people realize it or not, the ideas in 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 have had a huge impact on the role of Christian women in the church through the centuries.

2 Seeds : Deepest Truths To Rule The World
$28.73GOOD GUYS AND BAD GUYS REVEALED! RETHINK AND REPENT, FOR THE TRUE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS COME!! THE CURRENT GLOBAL WARMING IS A GLOBAL WARNING INDEED!!!
THE TWO SEEDS book takes the Multifaceted Law of Double Reference (the major tool to decode all Scriptures) into another facet with the revelation of the GOOD GUYS and BAD GUYS. Understanding this Law that guides the Law of Faith is what promotes us from Babes Christians to Mature Christians (Heb. 5:13-14, Matt. 13:52). Know for sure that a Babe (a Christian who lives in the flesh) cannot please the Lord (Rom. 8:5-8, 1Cor. 3:1-4) nor reign in life (Gal. 4:1-2). Only the Mature Christian can please the Lord (Heb. 11:6) because he is a possessor of the true Faith. Most things in life have two sides, for example, Head and Tail, Right and Left, Male and Female, Light and Darkness, White and Black, New and Old, Good and Bad, Up and Down, Joy and Sorrow, Positive and Negative, 1st Leg or Coming and 2nd Leg or Coming, Beginning and End etc to make up the TWO WITNESSES of things (see Duet. 19:15, Matt. 18:16, 2Cor. 13:1, Luke 10:1, Eccles. 4:9). One prophet may speak of the Tail or Left or New while the other or even the same prophet speaks differently on the Head or Right or Old e.g. earth is forever (Ps. 104:5, Is. 60:21) and earth is NOT forever (Matt. 24:35, Ps. 102:25-26, Is. 51:6, 2Pet. 3:10) yet no prophet is wrong. Hence, no one should DISAGREE or speak against any Bible prophet just because what you want to hear is different from what you need to hear from the prophet of God. All prophets are like brothers pointing to one Father or like road-signs pointing to one Destination – which is JESUS. Humanity must not be divided on prophets (see 1Cor. 3:4-6) as in many religions with the many denominations. Humanity must be UNITED (Eph. 1:10) on JESUS – the Unification of all things for Global – Peace. Looking unto Jesus (Heb. 12:2) – the Pointed and not unto any prophet or any man – the Pointer. See 2Pet. 1:20.
Be u

When the daily business news breaks away from stories of profit and loss, it often shines a spotlight on ethical failures. But Christians aim to be ethical in all the areas of daily life and work-not just when the spotlight is on them. For those facing the many questions and quandaries of doing business with ethical integrity, Alec Hill offers a place to begin. In this third edition of a popular textbook on business ethics, Hill carefully explores the foundational Christian concepts of holiness, justice, and love. These keys to God’s character, he argues, are also the keys to Christian business ethics. Hill then shows how some common responses to business ethics fall short of a fully Christian mindset. Using penetrating case studies on such pressing topics as employer-employee relations, discrimination and affirmative action, and environmental damage, he clothes principles in concrete business situations.
Updated throughout, and with a new chapter on international business, this new edition of Just Business is an excellent introduction to business ethics for students, and a timely refresher for men and women already in the marketplace.

We know that our material comforts and temporal accomplishments are not enough to fully satisfy us. Momentary pleasures, whether of pure or darker motivations, are fleeting at best. But Christians often hear the idea that following Jesus means that we should be living a life of full satisfaction. How many of us actually experience that kind of life?Amy Simpson wants to debunk this satisfaction myth in the church. After forty years of walking with Jesus, she writes, “I am deeply unsatisfied not only with my ability to reflect Jesus, but also with the very quality of my intimacy with him. I strongly suspect that the abyss of my nature has not been entirely satisfied by Jesus.”
Hers is a freeing confession for us all. Simpson explains that our very unsatisfaction indicates a longing for God, and understanding those longings can bring us closer to relationship with him. And that is where true spiritual health and vitality reside. Read on to discover anew what it truly means to be satisfied in Christ.

Christian Hospitality And Muslim Immigration In An Age Of Fear
$34.99An alternative, uniquely Christian response to the growing global challenges of deep religious differenceIn the last fifty years, millions of Muslims have migrated to Europe and North America. Their arrival has ignited a series of fierce public debates on both sides of the Atlantic about religious freedom and tolerance, terrorism and security, gender and race, and much more. How can Christians best respond to this situation? In this book theologian and ethicist Matthew Kaemingk offers a thought-provoking Christian perspective on the growing debates over Muslim presence in the West. Rejecting both fearful national-ism and romantic multiculturalism, Kaemingk makes the case for a third way-a Christian pluralism that is committed to both the historic Christian faith and the public rights, dignity, and freedom of Islam.

Stronger Than The Struggle
$18.99Popular Bible teacher and Bethel Church pastor Havilah Cunnington reveals the truth about spiritual warfare, helping readers discern the source of their struggles and how to do battle with good old-fashioned theology and practical tools for their everyday lives.
Over the years Bible teacher and Bethel Church pastor Havilah Cunnington has talked to people across the spectrum of Christianity–from those who completely avoid mentioning the devil to those who see him lurking around every corner–and she has seen the dangers of ignoring or misrepresenting Satan’s true power. Whether we talk about it or not, every follower of God is in a war against a very real enemy, one who wants to steal, kill, and destroy. In Stronger than the Struggle, Cunnington shows readers what God’s Word has to say about this issue–and what it doesn’t.
In a down-to-earth, let’s-get-real approach, the author applies good old-fashioned theology to the tough topic of spiritual warfare and helps readers discern whether their struggles are coming from God, themselves, or the enemy. She teaches them the right questions to ask in order to see adversity from a new perspective and helps them to create realistic battle plans to win every day.An inspiring, personal approach to spiritual warfare, Stronger than the Struggle gives readers practical tools to thrive in the face of hardship, enabling them to put the enemy in his place and start living.

Finding Selah : The Simple Practice Of Peace When You Need It Most
$16.99That something you’ve been looking for in the empty stress of your mad-dash days? It has a name.
The Psalms call it selah-the pause, rest, or interlude between the notes in a song. More than merely an empty space, selah is a chance to stop and resync with the story and song of God. For all the ways life keeps you running, this word and practice offers a way to re-center yourself on the One who holds all things together and makes all things beautiful.
Stretched beyond her capacity in caring for a large family in the middle of Manhattan, Kristen Kill was exhausted, depressed, and desperate for a change. Then something sparked within her when she read the Psalms, and found that often all that stood between the psalmist’s cries for help and celebrations of praise was this simple word, selah.
Join Kristen in Finding Selah for a journey that will transform the way you think about work, rest, and the little spaces in between that make all the difference. This book will show you how to tune your ear to the song God is singing over you, embrace the “selah moments” able to transform your daily rhythms, and most of all, encounter the ultimate Selah in Christ, who stands in the gap between heaven and your most hectic of days. There is hope for the dissonance you feel. Finding Selah will show you not only how to sing a new song, but to live a new way.

God Who Plays
$23.00Many people would be surprised to hear that a playful attitude towards God and the world lies at the heart of Christian faith. Traditionally Christians have focused on the serious responsibilities of service, sacrifice, and commitment. But the prophets say that the future kingdom is full of people laughing and playing, which has implications for Christians who are called to live out the future kingdom in the present. Play is not trivial or secondary to work and service–only a playful way of living does justice to the seriousness of life! Play is the essential and ultimate form of relationship with God, which is why Jesus told people to learn from children. Indeed, a playful attitude is an important part of all significant relationships. This book explores grace, faith, love, worship, redemption, and the kingdom from the perspective of a playful attitude. It describes how to create a “”play ethic”” to match the “”work ethic”” and discusses play as a virtue, Aquinas’s warning against the sin of not playing enough, and Bonhoeffer’s claim that in a world of pain it is only the Christian who can truly play. “”In The God Who Plays, Brian Edgar presents a wonderful gift to God’s overly serious people . . . The chapter headings are inviting, the writing clear and even playful. Brian clearly had fun writing this book. And the imaginative invitations to play with God, concluding each chapter, are irresistible. Enjoy.

Character Of The Christian
$7.99Learn to be a model of Christian maturity.
D.A. Carson has pointed out that the list of qualifications for elders is “remarkable for being unremarkable.” Why? Because these traits are repeated elsewhere as qualities that ought to characterize all believers.
Are you growing in godliness? How would you even know?
A good place to begin is understanding and imitating the character qualifications the Bible lays out for elders. While elders are meant to exemplify these traits, all Christians are to display them. And, with just one exception, each of them is related to character.
Join me as I explore the Bible to consider how we can better exemplify the highest Christian virtues. As we consider the character of the Christian, we will spur one another on to love, good works, and Christlikeness.

Disconnected Man : Breaking Down Walls And Restoring Intimacy With Him
$20.00THE DISCONNECTED MAN tracks the journey of one man’s surprise discovery of his own disconnectedness and his desire to help other men, and the women who love them, before it is too late.
Disconnected men hide out in plain view: in our churches, in our families and in our communities. They are competent, capable men who quietly ‘do their duty’ and attract little attention. They are fairly happy guys, relatively unemotional and capable of carrying heavy loads of responsibility, but are very difficult to get to know beyond superficial friendship. A closer examination inside their marriages reveals a desert strewn with emotionally emaciated spouses. While their competence may build the church, organize a group, or run a company, they haven’t the slightest notion how to connect intimately with those they love. Their wives suffer, usually in silence, while the church and culture press past this couple secretly falling apart.
Jim Turner was that disconnected man going about his life, happily fulfilling his duty within his own self-protective bubble, until God suddenly burst it in a most horrific way. His story starts when that devastation left him clinging precariously to the remaining shreds of his broken marriage. Jim longs to share with other disconnected men what he learned through that ordeal, to help them understand their disobedience and show how they can achieve real connection with those they love.

Our neighborhoods are literally making us sick.Buildings with mold trigger asthma and other respiratory conditions. Geographic lack of access to food and health care increases childhood mortality. Community violence traumatizes residents. Poverty, unemployment, inadequate housing, food insecurity, racial injustice, and oppression cause physical changes in the body, resulting in disease and death.
But there is hope. Loving our neighbor includes creating social environments in which people can be healthy. While working in community redevelopment and treating uninsured families, Veronica Squires and Breanna Lathrop discovered that creating healthier neighborhoods requires a commitment to health equity. Jesus’ ministry brought healing through dismantling systems of oppression and overturning social norms that prevented people from living healthy lives. We can do the same in our communities through addressing social determinants that facilitate healing in under-resourced neighborhoods.
Everyone deserves the opportunity for good health. The decisions we make and actions we take can promote the health of our neighbors.

Popular culture is full of phrases like these, telling us the best way to live, the right things to buy, the right body shape to have, the right people to hang out with. These messages are everywhere we look, 24 hours a day. But what if there was another way to live? What if we chose to live differently: to stand against injustice, to live life for more than just ourselves, to dare to be unpopular? Guvna B is rebelling against the status quo, and he’s calling you to join him. It’s time to flip the script, to demonstrate another way to live, to find freedom in going against the grain. It’s time for unpopular culture to take the stage.

God Who Plays
$43.00Many people would be surprised to hear that a playful attitude towards God and the world lies at the heart of Christian faith. Enjoy.

Clouds Ye So Much Dread
$26.66The Clouds Ye So Much Dread is a beautiful blend of memoir, theology, meditation, and storytelling. Each of these chapters — from dreading the birth of her first child, to living in unfamiliar and dangerous places, to facing the news that her son had been diagnosed with cancer — describes the stories through which Hannah K. Grieser has come to see that hard or uncertain circumstances, rather than being cause for doubt and dread, can instead become the unasked-for means that our loving Father uses to turn us toward Him and to show us His faithfulness. Told in Hannah’s graceful yet punchy prose, the reflections in this powerful book will challenge readers to revisit their own hard times and see how God can take the storms that we most fear and turn them into downpours of blessings.

2 Seeds : Deepest Truths To Rule The World
$16.99GOOD GUYS AND BAD GUYS REVEALED!
See 2Pet. 1:20.

True Jesus : The Highest Revelation Of God
$16.99TRUE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS COME!!
Parent and author Jodie Berndt understands what it’s like to release children into the world and still care deeply about them and everything they will face in life from relationships to career decisions and everything in between. In Praying the Scriptures for Your Adult Children, Jodie continues her Praying the Scriptures series with biblical prayers for your adult children, whether they are just leaving the nest, flying well on their own, or struggling to take off at all.
Each section focuses on a different aspect of adulthood, with encouraging stories from experienced parents who are praying their children through rocky marriages, health concerns, financial challenges and other real-life issues. At the end of each chapter, you’ll find personalized prayers for your children taken straight from Scripture. Fearless Major Gifts
$46.60Every major gift is planned, and every planned gift is major, so this book is written intentionally blurring those lines with the premise that if you know how to identify, evaluate, cultivate and finally ask for the gift, it does not matter if it is a major gift or is a will inclusion leaving the details of bequests to the donors, their lawyers and accountants. Clergy and others need help learning how to ‘make the ask’ before the remaining generous generations of capacity (anyone over 60 especially) die, having given their gifts to the non-profits and schools so willing and prepared to ask for them. LaFond recounts, “I remember sitting with a beloved, dying parishioner who turned to me in her last three hours and quietly said ‘I wish I had remembered the church in my will.’ I asked why she had not and she said, sweetly, ‘They never asked, and everyone else did, and so thoroughly.'” Clergy and lay leaders are terrified of asking for major and planned gifts while parishes need them and donors need to give them. Clergy are not taught in seminary how to do this essential work of ministry. LaFond, in his various roles, is filling that educational gap.

Tracking Down The Holy Ghost
$24.95* First-person narrative of significant years in the life of the Episcopal Church * Former Presiding Bishop, well-known throughout the Anglican Communion Frank Griswold writes out of his understanding that “all things have the potential to reveal the Divine and the mystery of love that lies at the heart of the universe . . . ” Though a teacher, preacher, recognized ecumenical and interfaith leader, and former head of the Episcopal Church, he describes himself as a seeker still, “a person under construction.” Griswold’s opening words set the tone: “These pages are the fruit of my effort to gather up fragments from what I have learned along the way about myself, about love and longing, about God and God’s ways with us. If you are drawn, as I have been, to follow lines of spiritual motion, perhaps the stories and reflections in these pages will be an encouragement along the way. You may discover revelatory moments in your own life you have overlooked because they seem so ordinary and mundane . . . ” Though not a memoir, the book includes autobiographical material to give readers a sense of the writer as a friend and companion who shares their journey. It also illustrates and brings to life various teachings drawn from the Great Tradition as well as contemporary authors and spiritual guides.

Whats Age Got To Do With It
$13.99If you think that being old is about having a rocking chair and an easy life style, think again. You’re looking through the binoculars backwards. What’s Age Got To Do With It? turns the lenses the right way around and gives a clear, Scriptural view of God’s purpose for old age. When He created the universe, God set in motion times and seasons and the ageing process. Old age was part of His plan from the beginning – that people should ripen to maturity, developing wisdom through a lifetime of experience and relationship with Him, eventually enriching others with attributes that have been honed over lifetimes. But instead of contributing as God intended, many see themselves as “useless” and are afraid of being a burden. Ageism has destroyed their self-image and expectations, and they give up and become passive – and we are all the losers. Here are stories of many people living full, purpose-driven lives well into their 90s and even 100s. For example, you’ll meet the lay preacher who wrote a book at 100 years of age because he couldn’t stand long enough to preach, and the 95-year-old who organized more Christian support from local churches for his care home, as well as many ordinary people who are making a difference to the lives of those around them. What’s Age Got To Do With It? shows how to take off the reins and live the way God intended from the beginning.

At The Masters Side
$18.99A year’s worth of delightful reflections on dogs known and loved, each leading into a consideration of some aspect of God’s character. Stephen Poxon says, “Within what I hope will become this dog-eared work, 365 shaggy dog stories are homed with verses of Scripture to encourage, inform and possibly even amuse. Use them as a dog might treat a puddle – to gaze upon with curiosity, to dip into, or to have a jolly good splash around. It might be that a line from a reflection will lead you towards a deeper concept. It might be that a thought provides a timely contemplation for the day, relevant to your circumstances and concerns. “It is my prayer, as a dog devotee who tries to follow God, that these readings bring reminders of His love. As the seasons change and experiences vary between good, bad and indifferent, may our relationship with a loving Heavenly Father remain a rewarding constant.”

Through The Year With William Booth
$19.99William Booth – pawnbroker’s assistant, firebrand preacher, advocate of women’s rights, friend of the poor, confidant of statesmen, politicians and royalty, father of eight children, champion of the marginalised, and founder and first General of The Salvation Army. He resolutely ignored his critics – including those who decried him as the Anti-Christ – and reached out to those who considered themselves well outside the concern of Almighty God. Prayer and practicality were his hallmarks: he ridiculed the idea of preaching to a beggar while that beggar was cold and hungry. William Booth worked tirelessly, campaigning, researching, negotiating, adapting music-hall songs – and writing. This book introduces us to his heart and convictions. Through The Year With Catherine Booth
$18.99Daily readings with Scripture verses and prayers, based on the life and ministry of Catherine Booth, wife of General Booth and co-founder of The Salvation Army, often called ‘The mother of The Salvation Army’. An ardent temperance campaigner, she and William developed together the firm convictions about salvation and poverty that led to the formation of the Army. Catherine Booth was eloquent and compelling in speech, and articulate and devastatingly logical in writing. At first, Catherine and her husband had shared a ministry as traveling evangelists, but then she came into great demand as a preacher in her own right, especially among the well-to-do. Although it was virtually unknown at that point for women to speak in public, and despite her nervousness, she developed a considerable preaching ministry. Catherine was both a woman and a fine preacher, a magnetic combination that attracted large numbers to hear her. This book of daily readings introduces us to Catherine’s heart and convictions. Here we find the passion, urgency, thought and humanity which drove her on. Each devotional will take one page of the format above. Catherine’s succinct, direct style is ideally suited to this form.

$16.99Bestselling author and Bible teacher Sheila Walsh unpacks the deepest longings of a woman’s heart and encourages readers to discover God’s relentless pursuit of them through those very longings.
In The Longing in Me, Sheila Walsh speaks candidly about the trials in her life and intertwines her story with the biblical saga of King David. As both Sheila’s and David’s stories make clear, some cravings are misguided, but they all stem from the same hunger-and they will haunt you until that hunger gets satisfied properly.
If you keep reaching out to the wrong people at the wrong times in your own life, The Longing in Me will help you understand that your cravings are not the problem. It’s where they lead you that makes all the difference.
