Walking Where Jesus Walked
$29.99Seeking to tell worship history in the same way it is usually experienced, Walking Where Jesus Walked is a document-rich snapshot of the church in Jerusalem in the late fourth century.
Here the reader journeys with a woman visiting Jerusalem as the highlight of a Holy Land pilgrimage in the last part of the fourth century. As she marvels at the new churches built at so many sites associated with Jesus Christ, she notes how remembrance shaped by Scripture and fitting to the time and place serves as the bedrock for this church’s worship. Ruth helps today’s reader hear the preaching which caused shouts of delight at the tomb of Christ, know the readings which lead the congregation to weep in the shadow of Calvary, and see the new buildings which sought to manifest God’s glory at the places where Jesus had walked, died, and risen from the grave.
By pairing contemporary descriptions, artistic portrayals, and worship texts with various commentaries to guide readers, this first in a series of case studies of particular worshiping communities from around the world and throughout Christian liturgical history aims to allow a worshiper today to think concretely and contextually about some of the continually important issues for Christian worship.

Religious Ideas For Secular Universities
$23.99During the last century American students and scholars have found it increasingly difficult to discuss the relation of religion to the mission of self-consciously secular colleges and universities. C. John Sommerville here sorts through a number of issues that bring these matters into sharper focus.
The aim of secular education as it began in the nineteenth century, Sommerville points out, was to open debate to all ideas that could win a hearing, not simply to stifle all those that could be labeled religious. In the aftermath of the failing ideologies of the nineteenth century new ideas, new icons, and new taboos are forming, circulating without critical scrutiny. Today the secular university finds itself in crisis, unable to define the human difference.
Sommerville considers such matters as how we judge religions, how corporatization is the inevitable result of secularization, and how scholars are rediscovering the human difference. He uses narrative theory and new understandings of canon formation to illuminate religious texts and explores Christianity’s appearance on both sides of the “culture war.” The reflections in Religious Ideas for Secular Universities show how a dialogue might be promoted that would do justice both to religious insights and to the neutrality that is the goal of true secularization.

Beyond The Qumran Community
$29.99With the full publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls, fresh analysis of the evidence presented can be – and indeed, should be – made. Beyond the Qumran Community does just that, reaching a surprising conclusion: the sect described in the Dead Sea Scrolls developed later than has usually been supposed and was never confined to the site of Qumran.
John J. Collins here aims to deconstruct “the Qumran community” and show that the sectarian documents actually come from a text spread throughout the land. He first examines the Community Rule or Yahad. Rather than confirming the general assumption that this rulebook relates to a monastic-style community living at the site of Qumran, Collins finds instead that the Essene accounts themselves emphasize that they had settlements in every city. He also considers the Teacher of Righteousness, a pivotal figure in the Essene movement, discovering that he was probably active in the first century bce rather than in the Maccabean era. After examining the available evidence, Collins concludes that it is, in fact, overwhelmingly likely that the site of Qumran housed merely a single settlement of this widespread movement.

Introducing The Missional Church (Reprinted)
$27.50Many pastors and church leaders have heard the term “missional” but have only a vague idea of what it means, let alone why it might be important to them. But what does it actually mean? What does a missional church look like and how does it function? Two leading voices in the missional movement here provide an accessible introduction, showing readers how the movement developed, why it’s important, and how churches can become more missional.
Introducing the Missional Church demonstrates that ours is a post-Christian culture, making it necessary for church leaders to think like missionaries right here at home. Focusing on a process that allows a church to discern its unique way of being missional, it guides readers on a journey that will lead them to implement a new set of missional practices in their churches. The authors demonstrate that living missionally is about discerning and joining God’s work in the world in order to be a witness to God’s kingdom on earth.Add to cartin stock within 3-5 days of online purchase

Christian Approaches To Other Faiths
$52.99Christianity and Other Religions is divided along the same lines as the textbook(9780334041146). In the first section, readings are divided according to the sub-sections, providing at least one reading for each, with those paradigms which have been more influential, receiving most attention. Importantly a number of readings will also be given critical of the approach in question. The second section contains at least two readings per section, both adopting a different way of understanding that faith. This provides a positive and negative attitude to the faith in question, or highlights the work of two influential commentators. While the emphasis is on contemporary works, important historical readings are included. A short introduction to each text means that, like the Core Text, the work can be used as a stand alone text.

Our Calling To Fulfill
$39.99Drawn from the Twelfth Oxford Institute of Methodist Theological Studies in August, 2007, these essays address the ecclesiological deficit of Methodism in relation to vocation and mission, crucial issues that have suffered from theological and practical confusion in the world Methodist communion these last decades. The authors enter into an uncommonly honest dialogue across the global divides and press urgent questions about how world Methodist and Wesleyan churches can regain a biblically sound view of mission and ecumenism without traits of colonialism. The answer from all continents is that this revitalization must and, in fact, is beginning in the congregation around revived practices of vocation and sanctification. The essays are suffused by a sense of realism about the church in a changing world economy and geopolitics and a contagious encouragement through the gospel and Wesleyan traditions that world Methodism can be revived in genuine connection.

Spirit Speech : Celebration And Lament In Preaching
$23.99That the Holy Spirit is present in preaching is something we take for granted. How the Spirit is present is a question we seldom ask. Luke Powery suggests that we fail to ask that question to the detriment of our preaching. Drawing on the tradition of African American preaching, he locates the Spirit’s activity in the sermon in two primary places; First, in celebration, the joyous acceptance of God’s gifts to the church and to the world. But equally as powerful is the expression of lament, the lifting up of our sorrow, grief, and suffering. In these two experiences the Spirit plays the decisive role, enabling the preacher to lay the congregation’s joys and sorrows at the feet of the living God, and announcing God’s presence in both our celebration and our lament.

Apples Of Gold
$27.48I grew up right outside Houston, Texas, never knowing who the Lord Jesus was or the extent of what he could do, until the ripe old age of thirty three, when I meet him in a prayer of desperation. From that point on he has taken me on a journey of spiritual warfare and discovery of truth that I would not have believed were possible had it not happened to me. I had looked for fulfillment in the vices of the world and came up empty, but I thank God that when I ran out of options and admitted defeat there was someone there to catch me. It was none other than the Lord Jesus Christ himself, who had been waiting to see that glorious white flag of surrender. I take no credit whatsoever for the birth or writing of this book, It was birthed in prayer by the Lord himself and he has been beside me writing the words and selecting the scriptures ever since. He explained this to me in one verse of scripture, which I take great pleasure in sharing with you now. Second Timothy 1:9 “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.” Proverbs 25:11 “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.” People need nourishment We’re often told But more than that They need “Apples of Gold” A word fitly spoken Can set a soul free From all of the lying Done by our enemy Thus the title Of my little book Which I pray brings you blessings When in it you look

Later : A Journey Of Hope For When Everyone Survives
$24.98IT JUST SO HAPPENS that sometimes life is stranger than fiction. It just so happens that sometimes life takes dramatic and unexpected turns. It just so happens that, though God may not give us more than we can handle, life will. It just so happens that tragedies are endured everyday. It just so happens that an unexpected turn of events cast a family into a tragic situation that provided no exit. Just when the events showed signs of hope, any relief provided by it was snatched away by another twist of fate. Cancer does that to people. It just so happens, it did it to us. Wes, our 21 year old son, was inexplicably diagnosed with leukemia while being treated for a case of the sniffles. The next year provided trials we thought unendurable. That’s not to say that hope didn’t loom on the horizon or that humor couldn’t find a way into the mix because they did. It’s just that cancer patients live their lives in installments between tests. Once the “all clear” is received, hope fills the void; until, just before the next test, when fear shoves hope out of the way. Later is a story about the struggle between hope and fear and how we treat each during the battle. It just so happens that life is what it is and that hope is eternal. Come take this journey with us and see why it proves that nothing “just so happens”. “Later”.

Lotus Of The Lake
$30.99This book tackles one of the most pressing issues facing the world today-child poverty and what to do about it. In particular, it explores the lives of underprivileged and lower class children in India, peering into inherent societal inequalities. It is the world the author has observed firsthand both through her humanitarian work, extensive travel and her experience as the first Public Engagement Officer at an international NGO (Peace-Child India). She worked with slum communities, children’s homes and migrant communities in Bangalore, India. Lotus of the Lake incorporates East-West perspectives on faith and poverty, points of view of the poverty stricken and their life experiences. So often, their thoughts, stories, dreams and desires are overlooked. These are the views the author highlights in her book–deep inner realities that only the poverty-stricken themselves can describe. Gill plans to build a safe, harmonious, and educational home for the poverty-stricken children in Southern India. She eventually hopes to catalyze the construction of such homes in every state within India, Africa and other developing countries such as, Haiti. The homes will act as safe havens for children-protecting them from abuse, poverty, malnutrition and neglect–offering them a world of education and hope.

Poetry Devotion For Attitude Promotion
$29.98It’s been a long time coming for a dynamic book of poetry, such as this. The project contains beautiful, faith-filled, biblically-related poetry that will touch the hearts of people from all walks of life. The poetry is written and expounded upon to reveal the author’s beliefs and feelings; and when scripture is used, it reveals exactly what the bible is saying to people today on a myriad of different topics in our daily living. Your soul will be indeed lifted to a higher height, touched in such a gentle manner, taken to a deeper depth of knowledge, and moved beyond mountains while reading this devotional book of poetry and commentary. The author sets the tone of this book by being blatantly honest, but is fair, meek, and wise in his approach at explanations. He wants you to hear the “attitude,” mindset, pulse, or disposition of your conscience while reading, in hopes that you won’t want to put this work down on the coffee table until finished. The attitude principles or “truths” contained in the book are already provided in the Word of God, but are uniquely demonstrated through poetry arrangements in the context of having a great, Godly attitude through varying situations. Although a Christian poetry book, these concepts can be read and practiced by everyone from all communities, no matter what background all derive from or environment one may have been exposed to as a child, youth, teen or even an adult. This book is full of eye opening messages, but whatever is acquired from this work, it’s the writer’s heartfelt desire that you attain something uplifting about a positive “latitude of attitudes” to help in your daily journey. Hopefully, these poems will inspire you today to encourage yourself in the Lord, God!

Attractively re-typeset, this enduring work continues to be a valuable resource to modern Bible students. In McGarvey’s own words, “Much the greater part of Acts may be resolved into a detailed history of cases of conversion, and of unsuccessful attempts at the conversion of sinners…The cases which are recorded represent all the different grades of human society; all the different degrees of intellectual and religious culture; all the common occupations in life, and all the different countries and languages of the then known world. The design of this variety is to show the adaptation of the one gospel scheme to the conversion of all classes of men.”

If God Is Your Co Pilot Swap Seats
$16.99Jesus gave us the good news that if we make God our number-one priority, then everything else will fall into place, and our life will be full of joy, purpose, mission, meaning, and fulfillment.
In the words of author James W. Moore: There’s a saying that goes, “If God is your co-pilot, swap seats!” Now, what I think that means is something we all need to hear, namely this: Don’t just take God along for the ride. Rather, let God do the driving! Put God in the driver’s seat of your life. Don’t make God your assistant; let God be the chief pilot on your life’s journey.
God is not only a comfort, God is a joy. God is the source of all pleasure. God is light and laughter. God is the Giver of Life…real life, abundant life, full life, meaningful life, joyful life, eternal life. And our chief purpose is to celebrate God, and to serve God, and to enjoy God forever.

The latter was set by the desire to put all the material into such a brief and convenient form that the little volume could be in reality what its name implies, a handbook, constantly kept at hand for reference and suggestion. Unleashing The Word Of God
$12.95It happened 1800 years ago. The chaotic arrangement was accepted and later became the only way to arrange Paul’s letters. As a result, we cannot know what the New Testament is saying. We have never seen the church of Century One. We do not know what happened in the first Christian century. We have no model of the first-century from which to work. Counterwise, we have been creating Christian practices made up of the short passages from the New Testament, never seeing the entire panoramic saga. Unleashing the Word of God is a must read. Exploring Worldviews In Literature
$33.25In Exploring Worldviews in Literature, author Laura Barge brings together a collection of essays to help readers effectively engage literature as she practices different strategies of literary criticism from a Christian perspective. She embraces Jaroslav Pelikan s claim that the university remains the custodian of the common memory of any culture and thus cannot escape the obligation to preserve the moral and spiritual history of that culture. The literature Barge analyzes here comes from a wide spectrum of nineteenth- and twentieth-century literature in the British, American, and Russian canons. Throughout the volume, Barge explores numinous spaces, models of scapegoats, disclosures of the sacred in nature, and the mythos of an absent God, all in an effort to enlighten by unfolding worldviews.
Because the study of literature is [so] closely connected with the experiences of life itself, Barge writes, it is also [particularly] in need of the enlightenment of Christian truth. In each of these essays, Barge draws on her years of study and her honest convictions to offer readers models of how to better understand the relationship between texts and Christian life.

Fresh Vision For The Muslim World
$34.99After living for more than two decades in the Middle East, pastor, author and college Arabic instructor Mike Kuhn wonders if there can be a fresh vision for the Muslim world-one not rooted in media lies or personal fears but in the values of Christ’s kingdom. Is the only option to fight, to eradicate, to judge? Or can the mindset of confrontation give way to one of incarnation?
In Fresh Vision for the Muslim World, Kuhn challenges readers to love the Muslims down the street and across the world with the love of Christ. Kuhn’s vast experience and research show readers that Muslims today have the same hopes and spiritual needs as any of us. With practical suggestions, Kuhn helps readers leave the path of isolation, fear and self-preservation and choose a less-traveled road: a path of self-awareness, empathy, and deep listening. Choosing the latter path is radical. It is difficult. And it is a step toward seeing Jesus Christ receive his rightful place of honor among a people longing to know him.

Communicating Christ In A Religious World (Revised)
$21.23You hear a knock at your door, and you notice through the window two bicycles parked in your driveway. Two clean-cut young men who appear to be conservative salesman or Christian seminary students dressed in white shirts, ties, and dress slacks wait outside. They inform you that they are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormons. What do you say? The fact is that religious people are everywhere from the next door neighbor to the person sitting next to you on the plane. They follow multiple systems of beliefs, and some of them have very different living practices. Not all belong to cults. Some come from common, acceptable religious systems, while others appear extreme. How do you talk to these people and share the message of Christ? How do you even begin to prepare when so many different groups teach so many different doctrines? This book will help you prepare for these conversations. It is not about the teachings of religious groups; plenty of other books outline those teachings. This book explains how to communicate to those in religious systems the love of Christ without a heated debate. You will find Communicating Christ in a Religious World to be a powerful tool which will prepare you to share biblical truth with religious people!

Spirit Filled Small Group
$18.68Small group resources tend to overlook the spiritual side of small group leadership. And yet most would agree that spiritual preparation is the most important aspect of leading a small group. Only Gods supernatural power can draw people to the truth and liberate them to be all that God wants them to be. Only through the Spirits power can we expect to see the miracles that Jesus talked about when He said that if we would abide in Him, we would bear much fruit and even do greater works than He did while He was on earth. The key distinction of this book is the spiritual perspective it gives to small group ministry. So much of the literature about small groups that is already published relates to small group technique and only touches briefly on the Spirits power. This book is a practical reference guide to help small group leadership begin to move in the supernatural realm. The books first priority is to help small group leaders and members trust the Holy Spirit to lead them, empower them and work in their group. Small group facilitators often sense a lack of guidance, power and spiritual authority. Jesus knew His disciples would be powerless without a touch from the Holy Spirit, and so He told them to wait in Jerusalem, saying, You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth Acts 1:8. Small group leaders need a power boost to make small group ministry relevant and exciting. The second priority of this book is to help the facilitator identify and mobilize each small group member to use his or her own spiritual gifts. Small group facilitators often feel ill-prepared to identify spiritual gifts of the people in the group. I firmly believe that the small group atmosphere is the perfect place to develop the gifts of the Spirit in each members life, and so it is essential that the facilitator know how to do this. Whatever denominational or non-denominational label a church wears, the most important characteristic, in my opinion, is promoting individual sensitivity, devotion and dependence on the Holy Spirit. In a Holy Spirit-charged atmosphere, cell leaders are best raised up and members are encouraged to minister in their giftedness. Some churches are better at empowering lay people than others. Those that are less adept often make lay people feel they must possess a theological degree much like the pastor has before they can successfully minister to a

Church Event : Call And Challenge Of A Church Protestant
$43.33Noted theologian Vitor Westhelle urges an emphatic no and traces the church crisis to an “ecclesiological deficit,” a lack of serious reflection on the real role of church as an ideal community and an institutional reality. He finds real consensus among the Reformers on what church should mean, and he traces the competing historical notions of church, their relations to the sources of Protestant religious conviction, and the gradual erosion of a sense for what it is the church actually “represents.”
Westhelle advances a new model of church, grounded in Trinitarian thought, social anthropology, and biblical reflection. He then shows how this notion of church well positions Christian communities to deal with the public sphere, religious pluralism, globalization, and communal prayer. In doing so, Westhelle claims a space for Protestant Christianity in today’s world.

Serving The Word
$30.00This book invites the reader to see how God’s word can become the crux not only of the sermon but of the worship service as a whole. Over the past half-century, worship scholars have found a substantial ecumenical worship pattern in Luke’s story of Jesus’ post-resurrection appearance on the road and at the table in Emmaus. In that word-and-meal structure, the relationship between preaching and worship as distinct aspects of liturgical experience breaks down. The preached word, then, and the liturgical event within which preaching is located become integral to each other. This book invites the reader to explore how-through God’s word-preaching informs and is, in turn, supported by the worship event as a whole.

Later : A Journey Of Hope For When Everyone Survives
$37.48IT JUST SO HAPPENS that sometimes life is stranger than fiction. “Later”.

Manifestation Of The Sons Of God
$20.61The author was one of the leaders in the House Church movement in China and after 43 years of serving the Lord, he concluded that the greatest joy and gain for us is to KNOW HIM! And to know him; the power if his resurrection, the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. To reveal His perfect will for us, God designed a complete plan which will guide us step by step; from the foundational truth through the pure and deep revelation, creating a pathway to the inheritance of the perfection of beauty of the life of God. This is what this book is all about. It is not possible for the reader just to glance through this book and receive the full benefits of its contents; you can’t swallow a juicy steak without chewing it slowly. This priceless book will serve you as a frequent used handbook. I suggest strongly that you bring this book home even if it would be the last book you will ever buy. It would be great for teaching or a cell group study. It will transform your church from lukewarm into one which is full of vitality, life, and power, even ready to start a revival.

Faith At The Edge
$23.99Call it existential doubt. Call it “the dark night of the soul.” However you term it, God-doubting is a spiritual phenomenon endemic to the Christian experience, suffered by saints from Mother Theresa, St. John of the Cross, and Therese of Lisieux to lesser-known Christians throughout history. In fact, there may be something of this God-doubting in nearly all of us.
Faith at the Edge is for those doubters, believers struggling with their faith within the Christian tradition, not for the skeptics and seekers who lie outside it. It is for those who experience uncertainty about faiths to which they have been committed, but who now wonder whether it’s true. This doubt is very personal and deeply disturbing, exemplified when God seems remote, when he is experientially absent, when his very existence seems uncertain, when everything one believes as a Christian is called into serious question.
Robert Wennberg here explores the important questions of existential doubt. What causes our sense of divine absence? Are we at fault, or is there some other explanation for our uncertainty? Why does God allow this to happen? How should we respond? Wennberg answers these and other provocative questions both through personal illustrations and through the wisdom and insight of such figures as Blaise Pascal, G. K. Chesterton, Simone Weil, C. S. Lewis, and Martin Marty. He lays out a credible theological account of what happens during doubt. He further helps us understand how we can cope with these dark episodes and how we can not only stand against them, but even profit from them spiritually.

No Gods But One
$24.99On the face of it, Deuteronomy seems to be a book filled with triumph – the pronouncement of the commandments, the end of the Israelites’ long exile, the coming of the Promised Land.
But Daniel Berrigan here turns a searching eye toward this text and finds its darker side. Moses, the people’s leader for forty years, is denied entrance to the land he dreamt about. The people desperately create a golden calf to worship even as God is giving Moses the two tablets. The Promised Land, full of milk and honey, is also full of inhabitants – gaining entrance means destroying or driving out a number of its people.
Berrigan draws clear parallels between Deuteronomy’s time of mingled triumph and broken law and our own moment in history, uncovering the stories within the story of this complex biblical book. With both great grace and incisive candor, he turns Deuteronomy inside out and makes us look at it – and ourselves – in a fresh light.

Medical Ethics And The Faith Factor
$47.99Medical Ethics and the Faith Factor is a reference book that promises to be a very useful resource for health care professionals, chaplains, pastors, priests, rabbis, and other people of faith who frequently interact with individuals and families facing illness and disability.
Robert Orr brings to the table the accumulated knowledge of four decades in the medical field, many of which he spent dealing with clinical ethics. However, unlike many books on medical ethics, this isn’t simply a platform to convince us that Orr’s opinion is fact. Instead, it is a reality check replete with real case studies that reintroduce the human element to a discussion so often detached from the very people it claims to concern.
In part 1 Orr explains the ethical and theological foundations of contemporary clinical ethics. Parts 2, 3, and 4 focus on specific ethical dilemmas. Here Orr tackles such questions as What management options are available when the family of a patient who is brain dead is unwilling to accept the diagnosis? Is a feeding tube ethically obligatory for a patient with advanced dementia? Is it ethically permissible to continue to prescribe narcotics for a patient who admits to their misuse? Should we provide organ transplantation for an undocumented foreign national?
Finally, part 5 explores ways that family members, clergy, counselors, and friends can assist patients and families as they struggle with these difficult decisions, emphasizing the priesthood of believers and the importance of prayer for God’s wisdom and peace.
Medical Ethics and the Faith Factor is a timely entry into a growing ethical discussion. Readers of this book will come away with a greater familiarity with clinical issues, a recognition of the moral questions raised by those issues – including those of religion and culture – and the ability to render more thoughtful assistance to patients and families struggling to find answers.

Hebrew Gospel And The Development Of The Synoptic Tradition
$39.99This book offers a new explanation of the development of the first three gospels based on a careful examination of both patristic testimony and internal evidence among the books themselves.
James Edwards posits a number of fascinating theories in his coherent hypothesis of the origins of these gospels. He argues that the original language of the Hebrew Gospel was Hebrew, rather than Aramaic. He further discusses why the Hebrew Gospel is no longer extant, including the role anti-Judaism played in its demise and neglect in Christian scholarship. Perhaps his most controversial assertion, however, comes on the heels of his thorough review of the origin of and scholarly evidence for the “Q” hypothesis proposed by Schleiermacher: Edwards concludes that “Q” is no longer necessary- or even scholarly defensible. Instead the canonical Greek Matthew concludes the synoptic tradition and Mark and Luke draw directly from it.
Each chapter in this book plows new ground and challenges assumptions in the New Testament guild that have long been held but that lack solid evidence. Edwards has written a groundbreaking book that will force scholars to reconsider the way they conceive of the formation of the synoptic tradition.

Priestly Vision Of Genesis 1
$48.33For many readers, Genesis 1-2 is simply the biblical account of creation. But ancient Israel could speak of creation in different ways, and the cultures of the ancient near east provided an even richer repertoire of creation myths. Mark S. Smith explores the nuances of what would become the premiere creation account in the Hebrew Bible and the serene priestly theology that informed it. That vision of an ordered cosmos, Smith argues, is evidence of the emergence of a mystical theology among priests in post-exilic Israel, and the placement of Genesis 1-2 at the beginning of Israel’s great epic is their sustained critique of the theology of divine conflict that saturated ancient near eastern creation myths. Smith’s treatment of Genesis 1 provides rich historical and theological insights into the biblical presentation of creation and the Creator.

Just Us Or Justice
$23.99Wesleyan theology and African American theology have both become fixtures on the theological landscape in recent years. While developing along parallel tracks both perspectives make claims concerning justice issues such as racism and sexism. Both, however, perceive justice from a particular vantage that focuses on just-us (just our community). Hence African American theology has not seriously studied John Wesley’s stance against slavery or his work with the disenfranchised. And Wesleyan theologians have largely ignored the insights of African American theology especially in regard to certain injustices. To get beyond the “just-us” mentality, the author lays the foundation for a Pan-Methodist theology, which will draw from the strengths of African American and Wesley theologies.

Love Revolution
$51.42Joyce Meyer is not satisfied with the status quo. She believes that we each need to become a revolutionary and practice love every day. And if Joyce has her way, the revolution will spread – person by person, house by house, town by town, until the old culture of selfishness and greed gives way to a new culture of concern for others.
The book is a revolutionaries’ manual, a hands-on primer for bringing the Golden Rule to life in the twenty-first century. Meyer starts out by giving some stunning statistics. Right now…210,000 children will die this week because of poverty; 640 million children do not have adequate shelter; every day, 3,000 children are abducted into the sex-trafficking industry; every day, 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes. She goes on to say that although crisis is global, the solution is local. We can’t solve the world’s problems, but that isn’t a reason to remain idle.
LOVE REVOLUTION focuses on personal behavior on the local scale. It’s not just a call to action; it is a call to being: being the person who goes out of your way to encourage someone who’s out of hope; being the one who smiles at a stranger; being the one who is willing to do something for nothing. The paradox: when we do something for nothing, what we often get is something far greater.

New Testament : A Way Into The New Testament
$56.00The SCM Core Text: The Gospels – A Way in to the New Testament is a comprehensive and distinctive undergraduate textbook for use on modules introducing the New Testament. The book provides readers with a way in to the New Testament by offering a framework for understanding the texts within it. Where most introductions will follow the pattern established for the Bible as a whole, by examining the different types of writing, this book tries to do something different and cover both the history of the New Testament era as well as the literature which testifies to it.
The book is split into 6 sections. In the first part the author sketches out the approach, arguing that the New Testament reflects four streams of apostolic tradition, reflected in the 4 gospels. In parts 2-5 the author looks at each tradition in turn, and the final section focuses on Jesus. Apostolic Congregation : Church Growth Reconceived For A New Generation
$19.99A church in the heart of Manhattan and a congregation among the Inuit people of Northern Canada would seem to have little in common with one another. Yet in one way they are surprisingly similar: They are both apostolic congregations, churches whose every program exists for the purpose of presenting the gospel to non-Christians, and making disciples of Jesus Christ.
What is the secret of churches like these; how have they learned to make evangelism central to everything they do? In studying apostolic congregations around the world, George G. Hunter III has discovered a set of perspectives and practices that they all share. With the passion and insight for which he is so well known, Hunter demonstrates how your congregation can learn to focus on the one thing that most matters: bringing people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

One thing in common, among all of the stages of the trip, was God’s presence before, during, and after the trip. This book is not fiction or a story of coarse confession.
