  • Inalienable : How Marginalized Kingdom Voices Can Help Save The American Ch

    $18.00

With our witness compromised, numbers down, and reputation sullied, the American church is at a critical crossroads. In order for the church to return to health, we must decenter ourselves from our American idols and be guided by global Christians and the poor, who offer hope from the margins, and the ancient church, refocusing on the kingdom, image, Word, and mission of God.

The American church is at a critical crossroads. Our witness has been compromised, our numbers are down, and our reputation has been sullied, due largely to our own faults and fears. The church’s ethnocentrism, consumerism, and syncretism have blurred the lines between discipleship and partisanship. Pastor Eric Costanzo, missiologist Daniel Yang, and nonprofit leader Matthew Soerens find that for the church to return to health, we must decenter ourselves from our American idols and recenter on the undeniable, inalienable core reality of the global, transcultural kingdom of God. Our guides in this process are global Christians and the poor, who offer hope from the margins, and the ancient church, which survived through the ages amid temptations of power and corruption. Their witness points us to refocus on the kingdom of God, the image of God, the Word of God, and the mission of God. The path to the future takes us away from ourselves in unlikely directions. By learning from the global church and marginalized voices, we can return to our roots of being kingdom-focused, loving our neighbor, and giving of ourselves in missional service to the world.

  • 2 Corinthians

    $60.00

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

When the Reformers of the sixteenth century turned to this biblical text, originally written by Paul to the first-century church in Corinth, they found truths that apply to Christians regardless of their historical context. For example, Reformed theologian Wolfgang Musculus wrote, To be a Christian is to be in Christ. If anyone is outside of Christ, he is not a Christian. It is easy to partake of the sacraments and to be of the name and profession of Christ, but that is not what it means to be in Christ… The largest part of Christians is still an old creature for they have not yet been regenerated and renewed by the spirit of Christ. To know a Christian, therefore, we should not so much examine his external profession, but his life.

In this volume of the Reformation Commentary on Scripture, Reformation scholar Scott Manetsch guides readers through a wealth of early modern commentary on the book of 2 Corinthians. Readers will hear from familiar voices and discover lesser-known figures from a diversity of theological traditions, including Lutherans, Reformed, Radicals, Anglicans and Roman Catholics. Drawing upon a variety of resources–including commentaries, sermons, treatises, and confessions–much of which appears here for the first time in English, this volume provides resources for contemporary preachers, enables scholars to better understand the depth and breadth of Reformation commentary, and seeks to encourage all those who would be newly created in Christ.

We each have God-given gifts and are called by God to use them in our vocations in the world. In a world divided by left and right, red and blue, many Christians have upheld a “third way” approach in pursuit of moderation, harmony, and unity. We do not see Jesus taking a “third way” between oppressor and oppressed. And as followers of Jesus, neither should we.

  • Enigmaticas Parabolas De Jesus – (Spanish)

    $24.99

Ruben Zimmermann goes further in his book The Enigmatic Parables of Jesus and explores the dynamics of parabolic discourse in all its rich complexity. The introductory chapters address the history of the research and distinguish historical from literary and reader-oriented approaches, followed by a postmodern hermeneutic that analyzes narrative elements and context, traces the sociohistorical background.

Subsequent chapters focus on a parable from early Christian sources (Mark, Matthew, Luke, John, and the Gospel of Thomas) to explore how parables function in each

The two are now close as brothers, choosing to be next-door neighbors and ripped out the fence between their homes as a testament to the power of the gospel to break down barriers and unite people together in Christ. Glad You’re Here helps us discover how building relationships, sacrificing for the good of others, and drawing near in times of need can lead to powerful transformation. Through story and biblical reflections, Glad You’re Here helps readers see how God works in the everyday lives of those who love him.

  • Why Marriage Counseling Fails

    $16.99

Like life itself, marriage has moments of joy…and sorrow. As difficult as marriage can be, many who have said “I do” try to stick it out when problems arise because the alternative–being alone–is not very appealing. If the couple truly wants to save their marriage, they usually turn to counseling.

Unfortunately, most marriage counseling ends with the couple dropping out and then, more often than not, ending their relationship. In some cases, the problem is not the couple but their choice of counselor. One who is poorly trained, disinterested, or obviously biased can destroy a marriage.

Why Marriage Counseling Fails explores different scenarios that cause problems for couples as well as the different types of counselors who can help or harm a marriage. Dr. David B. Hawkins has more than forty-five years of experience as a marriage counselor and has helped thousands of couples save their marriages.

“Sadly, when it comes to reaching out for help for marriage counseling, few have a sense of trust and confidence in their counselor,” he says. “Stories abound about how they came out of a counseling session worse than when they went in.”

Dr. Hawkins defines the “five I’s” of a qualified marriage counselor as one who:

    *Offers wise instruction
*Takes an active interest in the couple
*Offers insight into why problems recur
    *Is willing to work intensively
*Works in-depth to help the couple find long-term solutions

Why Marriage Counseling Fails offers insights into marital issues, the brokenness of the counseling system, how to find good help, and how to insist upon effective help when turning to a counselor.

Every day, we do commonplace things and interact with ordinary people without giving them much thought. This volume offers a theological guide to thinking Christianly about the ordinary nature of everyday life. Leading ethicist Brent Waters shows that the activities and relationships we think of as mundane are actually expressions of love of neighbor that are vitally important to our wellbeing. We live out the Christian gospel in the contexts that define us and in the routine chores, practices, activities, and social settings that give ordinary life meaning. It is in those contexts that we discover what we were created for, to be, and to become.

  • Rediscovering You : Solving Your Personality Puzzle To Enhance Your Life

    $15.99

“Who are you?” the Caterpillar asked Alice in Wonderland.

It’s a question that many of us might ask ourselves. What makes us grumpy one day and cheerful the next? Why would some of us prefer to receive little love notes from our spouse rather than a back rub? What makes some people behave like Energizer bunnies until they collapse? In short, what makes us tick?

Author Craig Walker sets out to put the puzzle pieces together in Rediscovering You. He merges personality tests, the Enneagram, the Five Love Languages, and the Word of God into one mosaic to provide you with a detailed and accurate self-portrait so that you can see yourself as you truly are, with all of your strengths, weaknesses, and complexities.

“Decades of conducting counseling sessions taught me that self-awareness is the single greatest leap forward to personal happiness and better relationships,” Craig says. “The Word of God, personality, Enneagram, and love languages honestly answer the question, ‘Who are you?’ Knowing that answer will change everything. It will create a ripple effect across all of your relationships.”

Rediscovering You uses Scripture to address three areas:

*Personality, the way we operate day to day
*The Enneagram, what motivates us to do what we do
*Love Languages, how we give and receive love

“This book will speak to those who truly want to learn how to love others as they love themselves, but first, they must learn to love themselves as God sees them,” Craig says. “Taking a deep look into your personality, the personalities of specific men and women throughout Scripture, learning how you are truly meant to be loved, and being honest with yourself will together build a beautiful and unique tapestry of your identity in Christ.”

  • Not In It To Win It

    $22.99

People often use religion to justify their personal views–but Christianity isn’t a weapon we wield to win arguments. Sadly, many Christians today have confused what Jesus came to do and accomplish with political agendas and the latest round of the culture wars. But the message of Jesus transcends cultural skirmishes and political affiliations. It calls us to follow another king and to live by the ethics of another kingdom. Jesus never asked his followers to agree on everything, but he did command them to love their neighbors and exercise their faith for the benefit of others–not at the expense of others.

Not In It To Win It is a relatable and practical resource that guides readers by focusing on the priorities of Jesus, even as we are navigating the complicated and emotionally-charged terrain of today’s cultural divides and hot-button disagreements. Rather than viewing Christianity through the filter of partisanship, Andy challenges readers to evaluate all of life through the wide-angle lens of faith.

Jesus called his followers to obey a new command, to love others in the same way he has loved us. Instead of asserting our rights or fighting for power, we are to ask ourselves: what does love require of me? Don’t settle for winning a game that God isn’t playing. Instead seek to live in a way that your life makes a difference for others, showcasing the love of God to the world.

  • Double Anointing : Lessons To Be Learned From Elisha

    $18.99

FROM THE BEST-SELLING AUTHOR OF TOTAL FORGIVENESS

God uses people as they are and will let history determine one’s legacy.

This book will guide me through the challenges and blessings of receiving God’s anointing so that I can use greater wisdom and discernment of how to properly use a double portion of anointing.

Next to Moses, Elijah was the greatest prophet of the Old Testament. But he was so human–so much so that James said he was “just like us” (Jas. 5:17). One day he challenged the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel and fire fell from heaven. The next day he was running from Jezebel, scared to death. Toward the end of his ministry Elijah selected an unknown person–Elisha–with no obvious qualifications to succeed him.

Elijah was Elisha’s mentor, but they were different. Elijah was colorful; Elisha was by comparison colorless. But God’s hand was equally on Elisha as with Elijah. In a short period of time Elisha put a bold request to Elijah, asking for a double portion of his spirit. It was granted. But how was this manifested? That is what this book is about.

The anointing can be manifested in more than one way; we must all discover our anointing and live within it (Rom. 12:3). Elisha’s double anointing was partly in quantity rather than quality. Elijah performed something like seven miracles; some of Elisha’s miracles overlap with Elijah’s. But the total of Elisha’s miracles comes to at least fourteen, including raising the dead, as Elijah did.

These things said, the two men were different in personality. Elijah ended brilliantly. Elisha ended not only as a lackluster successor to Elijah but in personal disappointment. This is a reminder that not all saintly Christians end their pilgrimage with sensational testimonies.

  • Finding Messiah : A Journey Into The Jewishness Of The Gospel

    $17.00

Jesus was Jewish, and his Jewish identity informed every aspect of his work, words, and witness.

He came as the Messiah of Israel, God’s covenant people, and he spoke the language of God’s faithfulness to this people. So why does it seem that Judaism has little to do with our Christian discipleship today? Jennifer Rosner, a scholar of Jewish-Christian relations, takes us on a personal and corporate journey into the Jewish roots of Christian faith and practice. Understanding Judaism–and the way in which Judaism and Christianity became separate religions–is essential for a rich and holistic Christian identity. As a follower of Jesus who was raised in a Jewish home and who continues to live a Jewish life, Rosner has seen firsthand how a Christian faith can become impoverished when divorced from its Jewish roots. Finding Messiah follows Rosner’s own journey in rediscovering the role of Judaism and God’s covenant with Israel in Christian life and practice. When we begin to understand Christianity’s indelible relationship to Judaism, key aspects of the Christian faith come alive and the wonder of the gospel becomes clear in new and powerful ways. Jesus’ Judaism provides the foundation for the church that is built upon his name. Rediscover the Jewish Jesus, and in so doing, experience a deeper and richer faith than ever before.

  • Im Not Ready For This

    $18.99

From popular humor writer and social media sensation Anna Lind Thomas comes a second book of charming and uproarious essays that capture our universal need for life to just slow down and give us as minute–we weren’t ready for this!

Anna Lind Thomas wants everyone to just calm down and give her a minute, okay? She’s not ready for this! In fact, through her latest collection of laugh out loud essays, she’ll prove she’s never been ready for anything in her life. Adult decisions, marriage, parenting, crows feet, large pores, skinny jeans– you name it, she ain’t ready for it! She’s never, not once, been ready for swimsuit season. Or her monthly period, even though her iWatch gives her several warnings. She wasn’t ready to look her female professor in the eye after inexplicably whispering I love you during a hug, nor was she ready to leave the hospital with her newborn because she has a bizarre inability to pay attention while someone gives her detailed instructions. Don’t even get her started on that one time she appeared on national TV in a blazer two sizes too small because she thought she’d lose twenty pounds before the shoot. Good grief, she just wasn’t ready!

Through her signature wit, charm, and painful relatability, Anna reminds us that no one’s truly ready for anything–so we might as well go for it and see what happens. She bets it’ll be real good–or at least, real funny.

  • Gender Identity And Faith

    $28.00

Helping people navigate gender identity questions today is complex and often polarized work.

For clients and families who are also informed by their faith, some mental health approaches raise more questions than answers. Clinicians need a client-centered, open-ended approach that makes room for gender exploration while respecting religious identity.
Gender Identity and Faith carves out clinical space for mental health professionals to help people who wish to take seriously their gender identity, their religious identity, and the relationship between the two. Drawing from their extensive research and experience with clients, Mark Yarhouse and Julia Sadusky provide a timely, practical resource for practitioners. This book:

*emphasizes respect for clients’ journeys, without a single fixed outcome, toward congruence between their gender identity and faith

*describes effective clinical postures, assessment and therapeutic tools, and numerous case studies

*covers needs and characteristics of children, youth, and adult clients

*includes worksheets and prompts for clients and family members

“Integrating personhood and values is no easy feat, especially in our current cultural landscape,” the authors write. Those navigating this intersection need clinicians who seek to understand their unique context and journey with them with empathy. This book helps point the way.

  • Reading Black Books

    $29.99

Learning from Black voices means listening to more than snippets. It means attending to Black stories. Reading Black Books helps Christians hear and learn from enduring Black voices and stories as captured in classic African American literature.

Pastor and teacher Claude Atcho offers a theological approach to 10 seminal texts of 20th-century African American literature. Each chapter takes up a theological category for inquiry through a close literary reading and theological reflection on a primary literary text, from Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man and Richard Wright’s Native Son to Zora Neale Hurston’s Moses, Man of the Mountain and James Baldwin’s Go Tell It on the Mountain. The book includes end-of-chapter discussion questions.

Reading Black Books helps readers of all backgrounds learn from the contours of Christian faith formed and forged by Black stories, and it spurs continued conversations about racial justice in the church. It demonstrates that reading about Black experience as shown in the literature of great African American writers can guide us toward sharper theological thinking and more faithful living.

  • Speaking By The Numbers

    $24.00

It’s not just what you say, but how you say it.

Good communicators know this, but it’s often easier said than done. Teachers, leaders, and speakers are often left bewildered, wondering why the content that was so carefully planned and delivered seems to fall flat with the audience. The art of communication requires more than the transfer of information; it both connects with and engages the hearer. To communicate well, speakers must understand both their audience and themselves. Speaking by the Numbers offers a strategy that combines communication principles with Enneagram wisdom to help leaders, pastors, and teachers understand how to convey content in ways that both inspire and connect with their audiences. Using the Enneagram wisdom of triads and stances, communicators can learn insight into the ways that various Enneagram numbers receive and process information. Sean Palmer draws from his extensive experience as a public speaker to develop communication strategies that lead to connection, transformation, and mobilization of audiences. Providing real examples of speeches and messages he has given, Palmer shows how he uses the Enneagram to craft a message that connects with his audience. A healthy marriage of Enneagram wisdom and communication skill can help us speak with clarity into the heart of where people live, love, and experience life.

Libby has been given a powerful gift: to live one life in 1774 colonial Williamsburg and the other in 1914 Gilded Age New York City. When she falls asleep in one life, she wakes up in the other without any time passing. She has one conscious mind but two very different lives and bodies.

In colonial Williamsburg, Libby is a public printer for the House of Burgesses and the Royal Governor, trying to provide for her family and support the Patriot cause. The man she loves, Henry Montgomery, has his own secrets. As the revolution draws near, both their lives–and any hope of love–are put in jeopardy.

Libby’s life in 1914 New York is filled with wealth, drawing room conversations, and bachelors. But the only work she cares about–women’s suffrage–is discouraged, and her mother is intent on marrying her off to an undesirable English marquess. The growing talk of war in Europe further complicates matters and forces her to make sacrifices she never imagined.

On her twenty-first birthday, Libby must choose one path and forfeit the other forever–but how can she possibly choose when she has so much to lose in each life?

God calls Christians to participate in his redemptive mission in every sphere of life.

Every corner, every square inch of society can flourish as God intends, and Christians of any vocation can become agents of that flourishing. Amy Sherman offers a multifaceted, biblically grounded framework for enacting God’s call to seek the shalom of our communities in six arenas of civilizational life (The Good, The True, The Beautiful, The Just, The Prosperous, and The Sustainable). Because we believe in what is good and true, we strengthen social ethics and contribute to human knowledge and learning. Because we value beauty, we invest in creative arts. Because we are committed to a just society, we work toward restorative justice and a well-ordered civic life. And our desire to see society prosper sustainably means that our business practices seek the economic good of the community while protecting the physical health of our environment. This comprehensive volume showcases historical and contemporary models of faithful and transformational cultural engagement, with case studies of all kinds of churches advancing human flourishing. It provides a roadmap for leaders wanting to participate in Christ’s mission of holistic renewal. • This Book Wont Make You Happy

When people find out she is a therapist, Niro Feliciano knows she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. At soccer games, at cocktail parties, in waiting rooms, people corner her and ask: Why am I so stressed? Is the way I feel normal? Why can’t I just be happy?

The truth is happiness is fleeting, and we are stressing ourselves out trying to achieve it. In This Book Won’t Make You Happy, national media commentator and Psychology Today columnist Feliciano offers a path to something much more achievable and abundantly more satisfying: contentment.

By incorporating eight simple postures rooted in cognitive behavioral science and mindfulness practices into our daily routines, we can move away from anxiety and toward balance and calm. Acceptance, gratitude, connection, a present-focused perspective, intentionality and priority, self-compassion, resilience, and faith: through these practices we will overcome obstacles that hold us back from living full, meaningful, contented lives.

Anxiety, stress, and grief aren’t going away anytime soon, and this book won’t make you happy. But with wit and empathy, Feliciano leads you right past happy to calm. No matter how “happy” your life is–or isn’t–you can reach a deeper, truer, and longer-lasting place of contentment.

  • When God Speaks

    $30.95

God speaks to all of us. As we open our minds and hearts, cultivate the time to be aware and listen, and develop our prayer journey, we draw closer to the heart of God. Listening to the voice of God leads to a life of joy, contentment, and trust in God in all circumstances. God is always with us. When we take the time to pray, listen, to reflect, to block out the noise of the world, we can experience God’s presence.

When God Speaks highlights stories of people who discerned His voice in their ordinary lives. Not all voices are from God. The stories help us learn to discern between voices which bring peace and those which divide and cause unrest. Sometimes God’s voice is audible; other times He speaks through Scripture or divine revelation. No matter what form God chooses to communicate, the message is every bit as meaningful. God spoke to the saints and prophets of the past, and He continues to speak to us today.

  • Words : Guard The Door Of My Lips

    $14.99

Olusola Olufemi uses scriptures to discuss the power and importance of words in everyday life, including our spiritual walk with God, relationships, and self-awareness. The book guides the reader through the many facets of words in the context of guarding the mouth, keeping words far from sin, and equipping our words to be a blessing through wisdom gained from God’s word. “Rejoice in God’s word or promise like one who finds great spoil” (Psalm 119:162). Win your battles with God’s word.

The theme of Words: Guard the Door of My Lips is poignant because the lips are the outer extremity or a doorway to the tongue, and the power of life rests in the tongue. There is wisdom in guarding your lips to ensure you speak life, encouragement, and blessing to others.

Psalm 55:21 reads, “His talk is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart; his words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords.” Examine the words that flow from your thoughts, from your heart-are they smooth as butter, soothing as oil? Or like daggers drawn and ready for war and turmoil? Spoken words are like eggs. When dropped, they are difficult to scoop back. Words are a Wellspring Of Restoration and Divine Sanctification (WORDS). Use your words wisely. Let your words divinely sanctify others.

  • Practical Religion : Essential Biblical Truths For Daily Christian Living

    $29.99

Practical Religion, by J. C. Ryle (1816-1900), was first published in 1878 and is renowned as a theological and apologetic Christian “classic”-esteemed for its clear, profound and penetrating narrative on the practice of genuine Christian living. Within its pages, Ryle masterfully unfolds practical biblical truths in a series of treatises, or “papers” as he calls them, each written to address a critical aspect of where personal faith in Christ and the practice of that faith in holy living unite and are essential for Christian growth and effective discipleship.

Ryle exposes hypocrisy and nominalism in religion, or “Churchianity” as he calls it, which was as systemic in his day as it is today. His poignant narrative appeals to the evangelical Church as well as to individuals who profess to be Christians-a call to self-examination in all things, and a return to sound Biblical truths seriously and practically applied in every aspect of life.

Ryle’s powerful, engaging style penetrates the heart and challenges the mind of its readers and is not for the faint of heart. Ryle’s design is to stir the hearts and minds of those who genuinely and humbly seek a deeper abiding, surrendered life in Christ. No wonder his equally renowned contemporary English minister, Charles Spurgeon, considered Ryle “An evangelical champion. One of the bravest and best of men.” J.I. Packer calls Practical Religion, “The manual for the practice of Christianity.”

    J. C. (John Charles) Ryle was the first Bishop of Liverpool, England, and one of the most influential evangelical ministers and writers of the nineteenth century. He was renowned for his rare ability to bring the riches of Biblical truth, plainly and powerfully, to the hearts of his hearers and readers.

Practical Religion will enrich the believer’s walk with Christ and provide the Church with much needed insight for preaching and living genuine Christianity, now and in every generation!

  • Let My People Live

    $40.00

Let My People Live reengages the narrative of Exodus through a critical, life-affirming Africana hermeneutic that seeks to create and sustain a vision of not just the survival but the thriving of Black communities. While the field of biblical studies has habitually divided “objective” interpretations from culturally informed ones, Kenneth Ngwa argues that doing interpretive work through an activist, culturally grounded lens rightly recognizes how communities of readers actively shape the priorities of any biblical interpretation. In the Africana context, communities whose identities were made disposable by the forces of empire and colonialism-both in Africa and in the African diaspora across the globe-likewise suffered the stripping away of the right to interpretation, of both sacred texts and of themselves. Ngwa shows how an Africana approach to the biblical text can intervene in this narrative of breakage, as a mode of resistance. By emphasizing the irreducible life force and resources nurtured in the Africana community, which have always preceded colonial oppression, the Africana hermeneutic is able to stretch from the past into the future to sustain and support generations to come.

Ngwa reimagines the Exodus story through this framework, elaborating the motifs of the narrative as they are shaped by Africana interpretative values and approaches that identify three animating threats in the story: erasure (undermining the community’s very existence), alienation (separating from the space of home and from the ecosystem), and singularity (holding up the individual over the collective). He argues that what he calls “badass womanism”-an intergenerational and interregional life force and epistemology of the people embodied in the midwives, Miriam, the Egyptian princess, and other female figures in the story-have challenged these threats. He shows how badass womanist triple consciousness creates, and is informed by, communal approaches to hermeneutics that emphasize survival over erasure, integration over alienation, and multiplicity over singularity. This triple consciousness surfaces throughout the Exodus narrative and informs the narrative portraits of other characters, including Moses and Yahweh. As the Hebrew people navigate the exodus journey, Ngwa investigates how these forces of oppression and resistance shift and take new shapes across the geographies of Egypt, the wilderness, and the mountain area preceding their passage into the promised land. • Invisible Divides : Class, Culture And Barriers To Belonging In The Church

    $23.99

We’re called to be like Jesus, not like each other – so why are most Western churches predominantly middle class? Could it be that we’re reaching out to people in poverty, but struggling to connect them into church life?

Natalie Williams and Paul Brown know all too well that those saved from working-class backgrounds often find themselves discipled effectively – but into middle classism rather than authentic Christianity. Drawing on their own experiences, and mixing theory with practical application, they explore the invisible divides that prevent churches from becoming places of true inclusion and keep poor and working-class people on the edges of faith.

Packed full of surprising insights and helpful advice, Invisible Divides will change the way you see church life. Essential reading for anyone concerned with the class divide within the church, it will challenge you to look at the ways in which we inadvertently exclude, alienate and offend people who aren’t like us, and equip you to start working towards making church a more open, inclusive space for everyone.

Jesus calls for us all to follow him, no matter our background; together, we can break down the invisible divides between us so that people from all walks of life can come to know Christ and find family in our churches.

  • Indigenous Theology And The Western Worldview

    $21.99

This volume by a Cherokee teacher, former pastor, missiologist, and historian brings Indigenous theology into conversation with Western approaches to history and theology.

Written in an accessible, conversational style that incorporates numerous stories and questions, this book exposes the weaknesses of a Western worldview through a personal engagement with Indigenous theology. Randy Woodley critiques the worldview that undergirds the North American church by dismantling assumptions regarding early North American histories and civilizations, offering a comparative analysis of worldviews, and demonstrating a decolonized approach to Christian theology.

Woodley explains that Western theology has settled for a particular view of God and has perpetuated that basic view for hundreds of years, but Indigenous theology originates from a completely different DNA. Instead of beginning with God-created humanity, it begins with God-created place. Instead of emphasizing individualism, it emphasizes a corporateness that encompasses the whole community of creation. And instead of being about the next world, it is about the tangibility of our lived experiences in this present world. The book encourages readers to reject the many problematic aspects of the Western worldview and to convert to a worldview that is closer to that of Jesus.
